Hello all!
Everyone is welcome. I'm just the temporary host for this month.

Previous thread is here Nov thread

Lots of different posters are using lots of different methods to lose weight. It's a friendly group. Thanks to @cricketmum84 for nurturing us through the year and trying to keep our wayward flock on track.

SW: 13.7.8
CW: 11.10.8

Dec TW: 11.7.8

I'm aiming yet again to reach 2 stones loss. I've almost been there since Sept but have been losing the same 3-4lbs over and over again. Fingers crossed Dec is better. I've started another 30 Days with Adrienne yoga programme and watch my calories. I already predict that mincepies and Christmas cake will be my nemeses this month. Hopefully much more inspiring posters will be along soon Xmas Grin

Thanks @JessJonesJumps

@cricketmum84 just cancel hosting, that what we've done.

Xmas is me, DH and DD, we're not Xmas bubbling with anyone this year. Will meet in laws for a dog walk and present exchange but that's it.

Saw 189lb on the scale today, love dropping down into a new bracket.

GetTheStartyParted · 04/12/2020 16:58

Hi, jumping in to say hello.

And sending love to @cricketmum84

I've been off keto for around a month i think now. To be honest, I've been eating and drinking whatever I want. Having a tough time with my mental health.

Start weight (Jan 27th 2020) 15st 5.5lbs
Lowest weight 11st 0.8lbs
Current weight 11st 5lbs

Will go back to keto in January. Lost my way but doing ok Grin have a great December everyone.

cricketmum84 · 04/12/2020 20:17

Thank you so much @JessJonesJumps for taking over hosting for me this month! And to everyone for the well wishes.

I managed to do 7lbs last month so hoping I can do it again!

Weigh in tomorrow to update start of December weight ❤️

DownUdderer · 05/12/2020 02:34

Hello everyone, it's lovely to see jessjonesjumps taking the reins. I reached goal weight in November so I'm chuffed with that. I'm still trying to stay careful though. I know I could easily go crazy in December so I've got to remain watchful. I have eaten quite a few off plan things and I'll weigh in on Monday and make a plan for the week.

We're going to try and decorate this weekend.

Howmanysleepsnow · 05/12/2020 08:10

SW 9st6.5
GW STS
CW 9st10lb Blush

I’m failing miserably so far this month. I’ve got a cough and a cold and comfort ate while waiting for my covid test results (I didn’t have much option as I had no shopping in and couldn’t go out!). Results came back negative last night, so back to eating properly today and hopefully will shift this same 4lb again soon...

cricketmum84 · 05/12/2020 09:35

Morning,

Sorry to hear you are also struggling @GetTheStartyParted it's just bloody horrible isn't it. So many life pressures at the moment and I think with me something just had to break, unfortunately that was my anxiety but we can and will beat it and get back to our normal selves (whatever normal is)

So my start weight was 25st 2lbs, now down to 16st 5lbs. Would love to be in the 15s by the end of December, I think socially distanced December will make that much easier than "normal" December. No parties, gatherings, Christmas market visits etc so much less temptation!

Pizza night tonight so expecting a small gain over the weekend but am sure I can get that back off next week.

Have a lovely Saturday everyone x

DownUdderer · 07/12/2020 10:09

I forgot to weigh in this morning! I must remember tomorrow. I think I need to try and refocus this week.

cricketmum84 · 07/12/2020 11:29

I forgot too@DownUdderer!

Planning some sort of quorn and avocado wrap for tonight. Feeling very anxious for scary hospital visit tomorrow.

JessJonesJumps · 07/12/2020 12:25

Great to see so many familiar faces ... even if we do all seem to be struggling! But, in it's own way, that's encouraging. If all the fab losers on here are finding it difficult, I think we can cut ourselves some slack. It's been a tough year and winter is always difficult. We're all Stars for still showing up Flowers

I was at DM's at the weekend since her accident she needs carers but refuses external ones so we've had to cobble together a family rota that is as limited as possible but allows respite for my sibling who is acting as main carer so no scales and no yoga all weekend. She also patted me on the hips and said 'you've put on weight'. I knew I absolutely hadn't put on weight since the last time I'd seen her but it did give me a little insight into how I ended up with a skewed view of a healthy weight Grin DM is a size 6 and always has been. Hmm

I bought an amazing dress and cape for Christmas (from the H&M/Vampire's Wife collection) and have them hanging in my room to try to inspire me to make healthy choices. The dress is a size12 and it fits but it would look better if my legs did not resemble small tree trunks. We probably won't see anyone at all on Christmas Day but I'm determined we're going to dress up and try to make it special anyway.

OP posts:
Howmanysleepsnow · 07/12/2020 15:34

Another one struggling here! 2lb off but still 2lb heavier than I was, thanks to a combination of Christmas food and comfort eating. I’m trying not to be too hard on myself though and can accept it if the extra 2lb takes longer to come off than normal.

FatGirlShrinking · 07/12/2020 15:56

I'm doing Ok, exercise has slipped as just can't seem to motivate myself to go out in the cold even if it's just to drive to the gym, think it's a combo of cold and dark evenings, I just want to sit and watch tv snuggled up on the sofa.

Despite that my diets doing OK and I'm on track for a bit of a loss this week, not as much as other weeks but a loss is a loss I guess 😁

Is anyone else finding it weird to actually feel 'ready' for Xmas this year?

We're not doing anything, no family meals or visits, so although we have the presents sorted and we have the food in (pretty much) for our little family, it feels like I've forgotten something important. Think it's because there's no dress up clothes for the work night out, or dessert for the Boxing Day at nanas.......

cricketmum84 · 10/12/2020 08:48

Have been in a daze of hospital stuff and health worries so not really been concentrating. I've mainly been eating soup and forgetting to weigh lol.

The good news is that we know what's going on now and what's actually wrong with me however I still need an mri and an op but my work private medical is paying for it all so at least I get to recover in a nice private hospital with nice food lol.

Hope all are doing well and not missing me too much!

JessJonesJumps · 11/12/2020 18:20

@cricketmum84 that's good that you have a diagnosis and a private hospital. Will your op be before or after Christmas?

Well done on the losses FatGirlShrinking and HowManySleepsNow.

I haven't weighed this week. MiniJJJ has been off ill so our routine has been up in the air. I'm glad it's Friday but goodness I'm bored of all the days feeling the same with no parties or lunches or visits to look forward to; and with no clubs for MiniJJJ to attend.

I did have an NSV this week. DSIS bought me a skirt last year that I've never worn because it felt too tight. She bought me a top to match so I tried them both on and the skirt fits! so does the top

I've spent part of today baking cakes and bread for DH. He has so many allergies and although I have perfected numerous cake recipes over the year, the breads are still a bit of a disaster. I am determined I will manage a decent vegan, wheat-free bread at some point. But today is not the day Blush

Has anyone compiled their Christmas menus yet? I ordered a turkey crown from the local butcher today. I think I'm going to make a gingerbread stuffing to accompany it. Starters of bruschetta; homemade butternut squash soup or smoked salmon. Desserts of christmas pudding; ice cream and christmas cake. All fairly traditional.

OP posts:
Howmanysleepsnow · 13/12/2020 09:56

I’ve gained 3lb in as many days. I’ve been pretty low and trying to force myself into the Christmas spirit which seems to involve eating!
Plus my youngest 2 have been sent home from school so I’m stuck indoors and my steps are down from around 16000 to 3500.
I’ve decided to try to be happy if I stay at my current weight (9st 10lb) and to restart a concerted effort to get back to 9st 6lb in New Year.

FatGirlShrinking · 13/12/2020 12:36

Weighed in at 185lb which means I have now lost 20.6% of my starting body weight and only 21 lb left till I get into the healthy BMI.

1st Aug 2020 = 233lb - 12th Dec 2020 = 185lb

Wondering if with a concerted push I could get to 180lb by the end of the year.

Howmanysleepsnow · 13/12/2020 17:13

Wow, that’s amazing @FatGirlShrinking. Keep going, you can do it!

Howmanysleepsnow · 18/12/2020 09:10

Well, I’ve been up to 9st12lb, and I’m down a little to 9st10lb.
I’m still posting here for accountability (though it seems everyone else has finished for Christmas!) and I’m hoping to lose a bit more pre Christmas. My goal is to enter the new year as close to 9st 6lb as I can, and definitely no more than 9st 8lb.
I hope everyone is enjoying pre-Christmas and not getting too stressed about it!

FatGirlShrinking · 19/12/2020 15:16

Currently 184lb, not sure my goal of 4 more lb in 2 weeks when that 2 weeks includes Xmas will be possible 😂

Howmanysleepsnow · 19/12/2020 22:22

Well done on losing the extra 1lb so close to Christmas though! That’s willpower...

Howmanysleepsnow · 19/12/2020 22:23

I’m 9st9lb today and likely to stick here at best!

FatGirlShrinking · 23/12/2020 09:22

Stayed the same this week, so 185lb last Wednesday and 185lb today. Went down to 184 at one point during the week but looks like the Xmas hot chocolates put paid to that 😁

Total for 5his month so far is 7lb loss.

LatelyOfShalott · 23/12/2020 09:48

Looking for advice as I’m trying to shed 3kg.

Started one week ago and been exercising at least 30 mins a day; has to be low impact as I’ve a knee problem. So low impact cardio and toning exercises, plus hula hopping.

I’m on 16:8 and replacing lunch with a protein shake with some fruit in it: oat milk for calcium. I am having a snack if I need it around 4: apple and hummus or yesterday a piece of sourdough toast with butter and marmite. I’ve also cut down on what I have for dinner.

I rarely drink; maybe a G&T or similar twice a week. Peppermint tea, water during the day, and a black expression before 10.30 no sugar. I’ve had a small bit of 80% cocoa chocolate in this past week. I’m trying to make this sustainable and not a punishment!

I know I’ve shaped up a little in this past week as I can fit into something that was a little too tight. But I’m not lost a single ounce. If it helps to know I’m mid-50s.

What am I doing wrong!
What can I realistically do better?
Are there any fat burning pills that might help?
