Hello all!
Everyone is welcome. I'm just the temporary host for this month.

Previous thread is here Nov thread

Lots of different posters are using lots of different methods to lose weight. It's a friendly group. Thanks to @cricketmum84 for nurturing us through the year and trying to keep our wayward flock on track.

Got on the scales this morning to a nice surprise of 3lbs off which means I'm now at a total of 9st loss!! It's taken me 2 years but slow and steady is always best. Ideally another 3st to go and if I can get my bum in gear after my op then I would like to be at goal by July next year :)

RupertRupertTheBear · 28/12/2020 07:02

Hello I've been on these threads sporadically over the last year, but my weight is back up to 83.35 kg on Boxing Day. I need to join in properly in January.
I remain in awe of @cricketmum84!
16:8 seemed most successful for me, so I'll probably try that again.

FatGirlShrinking · 28/12/2020 07:36

Holy crap @cricketmum84 9 stone, that's amazing!

cricketmum84 · 28/12/2020 10:11

Thanks guys! Just hopped on the scales and I've managed to maintain over Christmas which I'm really happy with. To be honest I haven't eaten a huge amount but there was quite a bit of baileys consumed!

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas!

FatGirlShrinking · 28/12/2020 11:51

Well done again @cricketmum84 much more restrained than me, I stepped on the scales and saw a 5lb increase yesterday 😲 tried again this morning and it had gone down by 2lb so assuming it was a carb/salt water retention in part but still looking like about 3lb on in 3 days!

Ah but the chocolate, cheese straws, pork pies, sausage rolls, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were goooooooddd!

@cricketmum84 well done on maintaining over Christmas!

@FatGirlShrinking I'm the same! I finally weighed today and was up 4lbs - it motivated me to put away the chocolate and pull out the yoga mat. I'm hoping to be back on track by the end of the month. Xmas Smile

@LatelyOfShalott I don't think anyone here is using pills. We're all trying to build sustainable healthy habits. One week isn't very long. Take your measurements, sometimes you'll see a difference in them when you're not seeing a weight loss. Drink lots of water. Make sure you're getting enough sleep. How many calories and carbs you consume will make a difference too.

Just checking in to own up... I’m up to 10st so gained 7lb this month Blush
And to make it worse, I’ve no plans to make a concerted effort to lose it until January. I am going to encourage the dc to eat as many chocolates/ biscuits as they want though to remove temptation... though ds15 is mainly eating leftover turkey/ ham as he wants to build muscle apparently...

MonicaBingaling · 29/12/2020 18:42

Hey everyone, hope it’s ok to join, I stuck with this thread throughout summer and lost over 2 stone I did so well!

However since around November I’ve gone downhill, a mixture of depression and winter overeating and hardly going out to exercise. Then of course Xmas happened and so many delicious treats!

I want to get back on it so need to join again! I haven’t weighed myself for 2 weeks but last time I check I’d already gained 8lbs 😭

Tanaqui · 31/12/2020 12:24

Happy new year! Are we going to have a January thread?!

cricketmum84 · 31/12/2020 13:11

Hey, I'll get the jan thread set up when I've finished working in a bit :)

Payroll manager + payday + NYE is not a fun day lol

Ardagusdubh · 31/12/2020 15:02

Somehow I feel shocked it’s the end of December! Lost 2lbs this month surprisingly, weighed in at 11st 13.8! Really thrilled with that! I remember lurking on this thread months ago and reading about reckless gran getting into the 11s and really feeling I could never reach it myself. Only a whisper into the 11s but a huge milestone for me. My goal is 11st 5 as it will give me a healthy bmi. Well done to everyone who is keeping going or getting ready to get back on the wagon. Happy new yearSmile

Hi ladies, checking back in as I reached a good weight thanks to these threads in 2020 but I’ve been piling on the lockdown pounds and need to get back to my better ways in Jan.

Onceuponatimethen · 02/01/2021 09:02

Is there a January thread @cricketmum84?

cricketmum84 · 02/01/2021 10:45

January thread is here

A new month and a new year - the January lose 7lbs per month thread! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4123159-a-new-month-and-a-new-year-the-january-lose-7lbs-per-month-thread

Sorry it's late!

TheStirrer · 02/01/2021 11:17

Happy new year @cricketmum84 and thanks for the new thread. Hope you hear about op soon.
I basically have stayed the same for the last few months in 2020 as my dad passed away in November so it’s been a tough few months for us. I am hoping 2021 will be much better. It is a big year for us as a family as I will be 50 in May and kids have GCSEs and a levels this year. I would like to get down to a healthy bmi for my birthday but this is a huge ask so would like to be in the 11’s for the start of May and at bmi by the end of 2021. I am hoping for a lovely summer holiday if Covid lets up!

C/W 14st 2.5lbs

Back to low carb calorie counting and lots of walking for me!
