Here's our new thread.. 9st0.75 this morning, had some pub tapas last night and a couple of pints, was truly delicious. Will be having a couple of days when I'm away, going to my Sister's for a couple of days either today or tomorrow. I'm sure nobody can guess what my aim is for this month lol

Ah, that makes sense @Octopus37. Well done on maintaining! Don't further that you can't gain fat overnight and that our bodies naturally fluctuate slightly based on a variety of things. I'm late to the party I know. 9st seems so little unless you're short like me or maybe I'm just so used to people weighing so much more that it seems very light. I know that 9st 4lb was my happy weight where I felt reasonably confident but that was before ds and age 40. People always say I'm slim even when overweight as I think they see my petiteness based on height so I'm smaller than them
In general and therefore labelled slim. I come from a long line of short women and don't realise I'm short until I see myself in photos next to someone of average or tall height. Being next to someone shorter than me is very disconcerting and I don't like having to look down when I'm used to looking up. It feels very uncomfortable to me but then I don't like eye contact anyway.

Octopus37 · 13/08/2020 08:41

Happy Anniversary Monstera. Still muggy here despite heavy rain.

9st2.25 today, did go out for dinner last night though and have been eating some salty stuff. Bercows, know what you mean about weight, think its a case of what your comfortable with. I'm not that tall either, 5ft5 and I started finding it harder when I got to 40. Ten years ago when my kids were little I was under 8st and fluctuated between 8 and 8st7 for a few years after that. Now 45, perimenopausal and its obviously harder, but I'm a massive comfort eater and find it hard not to hanker back to what I used to weigh. Not important I know on the grand scheme of things.

Morning. Managed to fast all day yesterday so finally getting the extended fast I wanted to do last week but couldn’t manage. Woke up really early and when I got on the scales then they were up so jumped back off again quick Grin No bm for a couple of days and af still awol.

I’ll weigh in properly tomorrow.

August seems to be flying by maybe because I’m a teacher and have the sense that September is racing towards me like a train and I’m tied to the track lol. Dramatic I know. Keep having anxiety dreams about school.

keiratwiceknightly · 13/08/2020 09:30

I had dropped another lb yesterday taking me to nearly 7lbs in total. However, it was our silver wedding yesterday and we had a fantastic banquet delivered by a local high end catering company so I will have put some of that back on. Worth every calorie though!

Lalanbaba · 13/08/2020 09:32

Morning All,
Finally a bit of breeze, so much cooler than yesterday.
Feel much less hunger pangs than 2 weeks ago might be the stomach shrinking Confused
B: blueberry bakewell overnight oats, half banana (toddler leftovers) tea
L: chickpea salad (leftovers from yesterday)
D: mushroom bacon pasta

MonsteraCheeseplant · 13/08/2020 09:37

Thank you. Have had some sad family news so feeling a bit blue today. Funny day to have a fancy meal out later.

I made overnight oats last night for this morning and it was good to stretch/bulk out my favourite yoghurt flavour. I didn't quite get the consistency right, i'd use less milk next time I think.

Heygirlheyboy · 13/08/2020 10:34

How many of us are teachers?!

Happy Anniversary Monster and sorry to hear you've had sad news.

Octopus I am the same as you, comfort and habit eating.. Hard to kick it but I felt dreadful, as if hungover, despite no big binge, after a few days of eating as I pleased so I'm glad to be back on track.

No change on scales for me but 7k steps done and water going well also. JS latest sound bite a great help before bed - basically go easy on yourself, don't compare and keep going. Star Have a good day all.

alwaysinpjs · 13/08/2020 12:23

@Heygirlheyboy 🙋🏻‍♀️
I'm dreading September. I've got myself in a really good routine and I know that's all going to change and I'll have to work really hard not to fall back into bad habits.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 13/08/2020 16:51

Y6 teacher here. Totally looking forward to my small, hot classroom with windows that barely open 10cm wide, with 30 kids in.
Loving the better routine and the time I have to do things other than work at the moment.

Day 10 of decorating. 1st room nearly finished. Just the attached dining room to do next over the weekend.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 13/08/2020 17:08

I am so so impressed at your intensive decorating, it'll be like a new home by the time you're done with it! Did you recently move in? What have you done/left to do?

keiratwiceknightly · 13/08/2020 17:24

I'm a teacher too. Spent today feeling frustrated for my y13 kids who didn't all get what they should have due to being from a v mixed area.

Heygirlheyboy · 13/08/2020 19:40

I bought the Allen Carr emotional eating book.. Logged for the day 1324. 15k steps. Star

MonsteraCheeseplant · 13/08/2020 19:57

Oh that's interesting. Like 15-20 years ago my sister bought his stop smoking book and hasn't touched cigarettes since.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 13/08/2020 22:25

Students have been done over today, and unlike Scotland it doesn't look like they'll be backtracking. How can they justify a system that actively discriminates against deprived children? Bastards. (Science teacher here, current SAHM)

B scrambled egg on toast
L ham egg and chips at a pub (long and very angry story there, ILs being awkward)
D salad, soup
S none today! Trying to make up for the lunch.

Heygirlheyboy · 13/08/2020 22:39

Dreadful re students.

I've started the book, will report back.

TheHoneyBadger · 14/08/2020 00:55

Insomnia, too hot but af finally making an appearance.

No exam groups this year and ds only just about to start year 9 but feeling really sorry for kids who’ve been moved down 2 grades despite consistent past performance and excellent coursework. I was of the most teachers thought I’d fail due to crazy low attendance and seeming disinterest in school type (had other pressing stuff going on) but pulled all a-c out of the bag through independent learning and ‘getting’ the exam game. I’d have really suffered under this system.

Fasted for around 42 hours then has salty crappy stuff to break my fast. Will see what the scales say over the next few days

TheHoneyBadger · 14/08/2020 01:34

It would probably count as unsafe behaviour but the air is finally cool and I’m awake and tempted to take the dog 🐕 out for a walk. Just checked and my rechargeable torch is working.

Tempted to get some steps in whilst the temperature doesn’t feel like walking on the sun.

Octopus37 · 14/08/2020 07:26

So pleased that its a bit cooler. Congratulations on your anniversary Kiera. Sorry to hear that you've had bad family news Monstera.
9st1.75 this morning, but had a very good day, 1350 calories, onwards and downwards.

Heygirlheyboy · 14/08/2020 08:40

I'm down 2lbs to 9st 5.25 so af and off the wagon eating starting to recalibrate after two good days. Swimming again today, will get steps in this AM. Started the day with ONO, needed it, woke up starving. Will prob have a Fri takeaway so will go veg or salad heavy for lunch. The Allen Carr book making a lot of sense already, a lot of thoughts I'd had myself in last year or two.

TheHoneyBadger · 14/08/2020 09:58

14st0.6 which is a new low and now 30.9 bmi.

I did go for the walk in the early hours. It was so nice because the air had cooled and very peaceful at that time.

Goal for the day is fruit and veg really.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 14/08/2020 10:05

Morning! I'm on the straight and narrow for next few days - using the Much More Veg book for nice low cal days.

Looked at my stats on Nutracheck and despite eating out twice this week I'm averaging 1280 a day which is great. I'd like it to be lower though. Today I've planned 1000 of food and we'll see how it goes.

B ham omelette
L soup and salad
D "trio of alliums with roasted roots" (leek, onion, garlic, potato, parsnip) and I'll scatter some chopped streaky bacon over the top.

I really wanted to see 13.X on scales on Monday but I think it'll still be in the 14s unfortunately. Trying hard though!

Heygirlheyboy · 14/08/2020 10:29

Honeysuckle I think 1280 is great and is realistic.. Looked at that veg book, it's pricey, would you recommend? Just in from my sweaty walk. Glad it's done.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 14/08/2020 10:34

Yes it is pricey! We've cooked a good few recipes from it already and enjoyed them all. He suggests swaps for each recipe if there's anything you don't like. I will take a picture of the contents page for you so you can see what's in it.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 14/08/2020 10:36

Ah thank you, appreciate that. I'd better start using my happy pear one first. About to have some yummy ratatouille and halloumi now and then take away tonight.
