20 week weightloss challenge...Anyone else want to join me?

MovinOnUp · 29/07/2020 22:33

I have a trip to go on in 20 weeks to a uk resort My daughter is desperate to go horse riding and the weight limit for the horses there is 13 stone.
I weighed myself 2 weeks ago and was 15 stone 8lbs.
I'm down to 14 stone 12lbs today but obviously have a fair bit still to go but hopefully achievable by the holiday.

Anyone want to keep me company in my efforts? I thought I'd start a thread here to keep me focused.

The last two weeks I've been.....

Intermittent fasting (8pm-12noon)
Sticking to 1200 calories or fewer.
No bread or pasta
Walking for an hour every other day.

I'm planning to up the ante on the exercise and find some low impact routines online.

@Sootikinstew what was your new weight... Good news or bad news?

I weighed on getting up this morning and was 0.25 lbs down. Then ran 5km and another 0.5lbs down..... I know its dehydration and I shouldn't have got back on the scales... But it made me happy anyway.

Another beach day today, as DD has second day off sailing course. Might actually brave the sea today as it looks a little warmer. I have purchased a sweet chilli chicken salad from morrisons for 200 cals for lunch too avoid bacon temptation.

Sootikinstew · 04/08/2020 07:56

@NemoRocksMyWorld

Bad news. I am half a stone heavier than previously thought.

At least I can now be confident with my starting poibt I suppose.

NemoRocksMyWorld · 04/08/2020 08:00

Oh no! Bastard scales!

MovinOnUp · 04/08/2020 09:20

@Sootikinstew At least you have a starting point now, It's all downwards from here.

Weighed in this morning at 14 stone 8lbs! That's a stone off from what I was less than a month ago. If I stay consistent I will be under 13 stone for our holiday in December and able to take my DD horse-riding :)

Just got to stay focused!

Good morning everyone. It was my weigh in day today and I have lost 2lbs. Down to 13stone 1lb which means I have lost a stone since I started this time (but that was back in May so not very quick progress!).
I took the decision to give up alcohol completely two weeks ago (on day 17 of sobriety today) and I had that given the huge amount of calories I was consuming (I was drinking up to five bottles of wine a week) it would have a bigger impact on my weight loss but never mind. One step at a time.
Only 3 more pounds to lose before my BMI can officially be overweight rather than obese.
Well done, @movinonup - a stone off in less than a month is fantastic progress.
@Sootikinstew sympathies - I know the bad news scales moment only too well but as you say at least you have a starting point now.
Enjoy the beach @NemoRocksMyWorld.

NemoRocksMyWorld · 04/08/2020 20:35

Oh dear... Burger King happened 😁its not my fault though..... It was so cheap. A whopper meal for £2.25!

MovinOnUp · 05/08/2020 10:41

@NemoRocksMyWorld I'd have found that hard to resist as well.
To be fair I'm not leaving the house for anything other than my walks and I have no unhealthy foods in the house, So that's really the only reasons I'm not straying.

Stayed the same as yesterday weight wise, The DC are going to their nana's tonight for a few nights so I'm hoping to get more time to exercise over the next few days.

NemoRocksMyWorld · 05/08/2020 11:14

I lost 1.5lbs....maybe I should have burger King everyday 😁

Failingbettereverytime · 05/08/2020 12:02

That's brilliant @NemoRocksMyWorld. I should try it. Getting very fed up with the slow pace of my loss especially since ditching the booze. Well done to you.

Shesgotbeef · 05/08/2020 17:18

. Sadly I’ve got a low cal fish pie for dinner...I feel a bit hard done by!

I think I’d be truly frightened of fate measuring scales @Sootikinstew I think under all this blubber I actually have quite a small frame - what is a good percentage fat?

13st 2oz this morning. Yes it’s got that bad I’m counting in oz Blush but I need to keep myself on track.

I’ve also ditched the alcohol @Failingbettereverytime and am feeling better for it - although I might make an exception for the holiday we have in a few weeks time.

Enjoy it the break from the kids @MovinOnUp and get some decent sleep/avoid the kids snacks/do stuff you want to do!

MovinOnUp · 06/08/2020 14:38

Hello all!

Weighing in at 14:8 today so still the same, Am good with that.
Today is the first day in I don't know how long that it's been just me and the pets at home...I am loving it.
(Though I have been talking to the puppy quite a lot :) )

How's everyone feeling today? Is it scorching where you are?
24 degrees here today.

I came in after a long day yesterday at 11pm. Had told husband to just feed himself and I would have egg on toast.... He had eaten all the bread. I was too knackered to sort anything else! So closed the day on 330 calories!

On another long day today, but he informs me he has purchased bread!

Down 0.5lb....but had no dinner, so a loss is to be expected 😁

Sootikinstew · 06/08/2020 21:05

I have lost 1.4kg or about 3lb. Im gobsmacked.

Sootikinstew · 06/08/2020 21:07

I weighed myself again this morning because at about 10am I was gagging for a bacon sandwich and bargained with myself that if I had lost even 1/4lb I wouldn't make one (I have fancy scales now 😁) expecting nothing to have happened and well, bloody hell!

I thought this 16:8 would be bullshit but it seems not!

MovinOnUp · 07/08/2020 00:40

@Sootikinstew Nice One! That is fantastic, Well done :)

OP posts:
NemoRocksMyWorld · 07/08/2020 11:54

@Sootikinstew well done! That's a great loss! Scales are behaving today!

It is so hot!

Failingbettereverytime · 07/08/2020 12:30

Well done @Sootikinstew. Fantastic loss. Crossing my fingers for another loss next Tuesday - I only need to lose three more pounds to go from obese to merely overweight! Psychologically I think that will bet a huge thing for me. I know it's only a label but it feels like an important step on the journey.
Well done on your loss too @NemoRocksMyWorld

MovinOnUp · 10/08/2020 10:09

Still stuck at 14:8,Ah well, Better than a gain I suppose :)
@Failingbettereverytime That's a goal for me also down from obese to just overweight :)

How was everyone's weekend? I was busy with visitors and the kids coming back from their Nana's. Didn't get out for a walk at all. Will do better this week.

OP posts:
Sootikinstew · 10/08/2020 12:48

No further loss this week.

Dammit I hoped the whole 6 stone might have dropped off by today 😂

Sootikinstew · 10/08/2020 12:48

I was a bit greedy this weekend @movinonup

My body has definitely started to notice I am making it fast for 16 hours.

NemoRocksMyWorld · 10/08/2020 13:08

My daughter had another seizure and we ended up in a and e on Saturday night. She's fine now. But it culminated in McDonald's at midnight. Up a lb or so but extraordinary circumstances. Had a good run this morning and knocked 30 seconds off my previous time. Feeling good today!

I always have a bit of a whoosh then plateau a bit, I'm plateauing now but that's OK. Couple off lb of healthy weight now.

MovinOnUp · 10/08/2020 14:58

@NemoRocksMyWorld ? Glad your DD is fine now.

OP posts:
Failingbettereverytime · 10/08/2020 15:14

How frightening for you both @NemoRocksMyWorld so glad your daughter is OK.

I am doing 16:8 too @Sootikinstew and hoping to move it to 18:6 before I go back to work in September. I think it is helping - having two meals a day and no snacks means I can eat two decent amounts and not calorie count too much as long as I am mindful of what I'm putting on my plate. But it's easier at home. I need to plan some decent packed lunches.
@MovinOnUp my weigh in day is tomorrow but I think I may also have stayed the same. Better than putting on anyway! Hope you are enjoying having the kids back home.

MovinOnUp · 12/08/2020 15:09

@Failingbettereverytime It's great to have the kids back, They are back at school today. It's very strange with just me and the puppy here.
I'm back to work/studying next Tuesday, So I'm making the most of relaxing for the rest of this week :)
Finally down to 14:7 today, Have fasted since around 6 last night and it's just too damn hot to eat.

OP posts:
Failingbettereverytime · 14/08/2020 11:00

Well done on getting down to 14:7 @MovinOnUp I had lost a pound when I weighed in on Tuesday but seem to have put it back on again. Then we had takeaway pizza last night to celebrate DD's A level results so I didn't dare weigh myself this morning. Going to have a very restrained day today and weigh myself tomorrow. Just two pounds to go now to get my BMI back down to overweight!
There is also less than three weeks to go until I need to fit back into my work clothes that I haven't worn since March so I think I need to have a lot of very restrained days this month!
