just had a very nice almond slice with my coffee.....i figure that that is a lot less than i'd usually pick at during the day and i actually tasted it!

katybump · 01/10/2007 16:20

ps lal might be worth getting one of those reindeer that "poos" chocolate raisins....either the thought will put you off or they only come out one at a time....

collision · 01/10/2007 16:23

This is my worst time of day! so easy to pick before dinner

so I came on Mumsnet!!

Had Special k at 1pm and a banana and 2 coffees (decaff) and a cup of tea.....that is all day and I know it is low but I want to kickstart myself

Chicken and veg for dinner and fruit salad.

How are you all doing?

pinkrose · 01/10/2007 16:24

ds has a friend round for tea so will have to be really good not to have any of their pizza. Not sure what me and dp having yet.Went to tesco today so stocked up on lots of fruit and vegs.

pollywollydoodle · 01/10/2007 16:27

katybump

why is it that on diets we always seem to focus more on what we did "wrong" and not what we got right?

here goes....

1 measured cereal out (and was shocked at how many tablespoons of meusli i'd crept upto having)
2 sat down for coffee this am without toast and marmite
3 no crisps for lunch
4 no mindless picking

laloupgarou · 01/10/2007 16:30

lolol reindeer poo

pollywollydoodle · 01/10/2007 16:30

good luck collision ....we are bigger than a bit of pizza (literally!) it will not beat us....

pollywollydoodle · 01/10/2007 16:31

oops pinkrose i meant...

katybump · 01/10/2007 16:33

don't know pollywollydoodle ,maybe we are always negative about ourselves hence the weight gain.positive thinking and looking at the good we are doing is the way forward i think

what a great day you've had!!! do you feel better for making the choice to look after your body and do something for yourself?

OP posts:
katybump · 01/10/2007 16:35

think of pizza as melted lard on bread all greasy and like that fake fat they use on diet programmes!

pollywollydoodle · 01/10/2007 16:40

mmm, am trying hard to fit in my leg strengthening excercises as well at the mo'....

pinkrose · 01/10/2007 16:50

katybump good idea will think of it like that. Will be having brown rice with mushrooms and salad.Haven`t done any exercise today so will try later when kids in bed.

katybump · 01/10/2007 16:54

well done pinkrose ,i think fitting in excercise is the key.just an extra 10 mins moving aday should bring results.

inamuckingfuddle · 01/10/2007 18:07

hello all, my first chance to get on here today. I've been pretty good at work, no pud, resisted the choccie biscuits most of the day and have made appointment at the gym for next tues...

am v impressed with the dedication of some, hope some of it rubs off onto me!

StarryStarryNight · 01/10/2007 18:39

Hi, I have not been that good. I did not cook my own dinner today as I had a hospital apt, and had bought a thai green chicken curry from waitrose, but it was lo fat! I had Tuna nicoise for lunch.

I have a massive big chocolate cake in the oven though. It is my au pairs birthday celebration here tomorrow. So I am being good.

katybump · 01/10/2007 18:46

yes it's really east to get married in vegas dislexicicecream.you just need a licence from the county court think it was 60 dollars and then your free to wed .theres usually loads of people outside promoting their chapels with flyers and stuff.it's an amazing place.really tacky and great

MarkStretch · 01/10/2007 18:57

Right, today I had cereal and semi skimmed milk for breakfast, a small homemade muffin, a tuna pitta bread, banana and grapes for lunch, and ratatouille and baked potato for dinner. Feel stuffed now!

Have cycled approx 8 miles to visit clients today. (The word 'clients' sounds dodgy, I am a Support Worker, not a prostitute)

Dp has gone to Sainsburys to buy me lots of fruit and veg!

pollywollydoodle · 01/10/2007 18:57

as i know from experience i can't stick to ultra strict diets without cracking after a few days (impressed by those who can tho'!) and i can't cut my evening meal too much without being starving by 9pm and raiding the cupboard....so i'm just reducing portion sizes and reducing fat in what we eat and not picking....

so, tonight was saus and mash with 2 sausages instead of three and skimmed milk and a bit of low cal butter-a-like in the mash, broccoli, carrots and onion gravy then stewed pears with sultanas and cinnanmon

do any katybumpers (Trade Mark) use those artificial sweeteners in cooking? are they any good?

MarkStretch · 01/10/2007 18:58

Oh and got all our details through for our wedding in Turkey next May- might stick it on the fridge to remind me why I'm doing this.....

pollywollydoodle · 01/10/2007 18:59

well done markstretch(like the name)

moonmother · 01/10/2007 18:59

Well, first day and I've been very good...

Brekkie:grilled mushrooms on wholemeal toast

Lunch:homemade minestrone and 1 slice of bread

Tea:Jacket potato, undyed smoked haddock, and a plate full of steamed veg

no snacks in between and only 2 cups of tea all day, other than that just glasses of water.

Lets home I stay being good
