Hi, dd had a party this afternoon but I managed to avoid the cake and sweets so feeling very virtuous now.

Today I have had..

Breakfast - bread roll and half-fat butter
Lunch - in cafe with 2 ds's while dd in ballet, the three of us shared a plate of chips (and didn't even manage to finish them between us!)
Dinner (at party) One slice of pizza plus small glass of wine

Snack - an apple

Nearly through our first week, well done everyone.

ShinyHappyPurpleSeveredHeads · 06/10/2007 20:55

Morning Ladies - Last day of week 1!!!!!
I'm off to mums for a Sunday Lunch - she has scales so I'll finally get to weigh myself. I have a rough idea what I was before but wont be able to tell acurately how much i've lost - if any never mind, hopefully it'll make me more determined next week.
Have a great day everyone x

ELMTREE · 07/10/2007 07:53

Morning Peeps. Im not sure what sort of day i will have today. DH left at 6am and wont be back until 6pm, we had a slight argument last night and he went out and got in at 3am and left without so much as a bye. So it might go either wasy today. I could not eat as my stomach is so upset, or i could comfort eat. Oh as well as look after a 2year old girl all day.

katybumpinthenight · 07/10/2007 08:17

laloupgarou · 07/10/2007 10:12

Elmtree, sorry to hear you're having a rough time today. Look after yourself x

Katyb, so glad to hear that dd is ok, here's hoping the viral infection clears up soon. Must be a lot going around, my three dcs have all had colds and coughs this week..you can tell winter is only round the corner now.

I didn't do too well diet-wise in the end last night, had a handful of choc raisins, handful of crisps and a glass of wine before I headed to bed last night. Plus I haven't done any exercise this weekend yet and don't think gym creche will want ds2 until runny nose and cough have fully cleared. Will try to drink more water today, I'm much better at this during the week for some reason.

pollywollydooooooooodle · 07/10/2007 14:52

hello all
glad to hear your dd is feeling better katybump...a lot of nasty chesty viral things going around here...

well i'm back on track today...don't know why i lost it yesterday...maybe a combination af an unstructured day and not having planned what to eat...i'm like a 2 year old, i can't do choice esp not when hungry!

To those with dps behaving like gits don't let them knock you off track....to those missing their lovely hubbys...a virtual hug and i hope that they will be back soon...

brekkie..muesli and frothy coffee
lunch ..pitta bread with salmon and salad
eve....roast veg and rice, fruit
treat tonight ....i'll ppppick up a penguin

tangarine · 07/10/2007 15:18

Hi katy, glad to hear that dd is OK. It's horrid when they go downhill so qiuckly.

ss: the prawn risotto is a Delia cheat one: you chop an onion and fry it with butter and olive oil, then add the rice and some sherry and 2 tins of lobster bisque soup. Bring to a simmer then pop into a baking dish and bung in the oven for half an hour. Stir in some prawns, and pop some cream and grated gruyere on top and pop under a hot grill. I was very good and didn't have nearly as much as usual, even when dh had seconds! Enjoy lunch at your mums! It's always nicer if you haven't had to cook it yourself

Today had special K for breakfast, a mashed banana on toast for lunch and several cups of coffee. Had an hour in the gym and according to the machines burnt 500 cals. No scales there today, so haven't done a weigh-in, but am feeling slimmer.

Am now feeling VERY hungry! dh next door watching rugby AGAIN.

katybumpinthenight · 07/10/2007 17:12

i'm knackered and want to munch someone please keep me out of the treats while i catch up with everyone

ScaryScienceT · 07/10/2007 17:18

I make risotto every so often.

Usually, I fry up onion, garlic, peppers, and then add the arborio rice. If using wine, I will add a glass to the sauteed mixture and let it absorb, then I add chicken stock.

Once the risotto is almost cooked, I'll add any already cooked ingredients - eg. prawns, ham, cooked chicken, frozen peas and corn.

I think risotto is a good meal for dieting

katybumpinthenight · 07/10/2007 17:57

thanks for your concern ladies xxxx
it is good for the figure as i haven't had time to eat and have been too worried but now i need, chip butties and loads of chocolate must get my jaw wired ala

elmtree at you dh.try and be kind to yourself x

hope i haven't missed anyone

can't believe it's been a week already, anybody feel different already?
i do,but think that is because i haven't eaten any bread for a week so my belly is not as bloated as normal.

keep going katybumpers think thin xx

susiecutie · 07/10/2007 18:38

Glad your DD is Ok katy

I'm afraid i've fallen off the wagon again... had alot of malteasers... i figure i i just finish them all up, in more or less one go, they'll be gone and i wont have anymore ( mum bought them for me to cheer me up.) so thats my mission tonight! all in the name of saving my diet of course

still not heard from Dh... he's a bloody nightmare sometimes. He has mild aspergers and finds emotions very difficult to deal with.. and since currently i'm pretty sad and emotional due to lack of sleep, pain, not seing him etc... he cant cope so avoids it... terrible, but i've got used to it over the years, but, doesnt really make it any easier.

the only thing that does now, is that at least now after all the times its happened, i know he's ok, he's not left me, and he's not with someone else. so those things dont torment me any more!

SO i hope you are all doing well with food. I promise fresh start for me tomorrow morning.

STARTING with.... porridge, mash banana and dried cranberries also a good sprinkling of bran. ( increase in fibre and water is great for weight loss )

cleaned my 1 litre bottle out so ready to start filling it again tomorrow too.

good luck girls. and yes... think thin!!! ((((((((()))))))) hugs to all.

katybumpinthenight · 07/10/2007 18:47

good idea about eating all the maltesers in one go susiecutie.at least then you only cheat once lol
glad your feeling more positive and next weekend is only 5 days away xx

spottyshoes · 07/10/2007 19:58

Hi Guys
I last weighed myself 2.5 wks ago on mums scales so thought I knew roughly what I was, according to today's weigh in I am exactly the same - totally gutted! Could fool myself into thinking that I gained 1/2 stone the 1st week and lost it the past week but that would be wishfull thinking. I am still 5'8 and 11.5 stone I have really struggled to avoid the chunky chips and garlic sauce this week and it has felt like i'm denying myself - I havent had any chocolate at all and I've done lots of walking and kickboxing! Feel quite demotivated really

Brekkie: Shredded wheat fruitful, Glass fresh oj
11'ses - none
Lunch: Tuna Salad Pitta, apple, yoghurt
Dinner: Roast Beef, only one yorkie, 2 small roast pots, broccoli, carrots, sweet pot, butternit squash, swede, green beans, gravy.
Pud: Raspberry Pavlova with extra rasps from garden and low fat single cream.
Fat-Cow-didn't-lose-anything-pick-me-up: 3 glasses of good strong wine!

Tangerine & Science Thanks so much for your receipes me thinks risotto with defo be on the menu next week.
So glad your dd is ok KatyB - That must have been such a scare!!

katybumpinthenight · 07/10/2007 20:07

oh spotty shoes can't believe you haven't lost anything.i think you have really and it's just not shown as you put on a few sneaky pounds after your last weigh in. so i am going to say you lost 3 ! and as it is my club i am allowed to so there!!!!
sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

ok so first weigh in

spottyshoes 3pounds

will you do the cut and paste thingy for me when everyone posts their losses and stuff please . you know i'm crap at it

spottyshoes · 07/10/2007 20:15

Very kind of you KB but I'm still going to sulk and drink wine for the rest of the evening
grabs fictitious 3lbs with eager hands

Will have a go at the copy and paste tomorrow night when everyone has posted - never done it before tho :-S
Good luck on the way ins everyone....put DOWN all the unhealthy crap tonight or you'll be disappointed

tangarine · 07/10/2007 20:16

spottyshoes 3pounds
tangarine don't know but feel better

katy thanks for all your encouragement!

science - rice is supposed to be quite "cleansing", so good for detoxing as well dieting.

spotty - well done on all that veg with your roast. And raspberries are my favourite fruit.

onwards and thinwards!

tangarine · 07/10/2007 20:19

Oh, and I don't feel hugely better for working out, but am feeling virtuous .

ShinyHappyPurpleSeveredHeads · 07/10/2007 20:32

Huh. Mr. Shiny is a large part of the reason I always find it so difficult. He puts things is front of my that I know I shouldn't eat.. but it's hard when it's waved in front of your nose. I know I should have more will power. I will try harder. But he's supposed to doing it too! (Although he hasn't been well all week and is only just starting to feel a bit better so has been eating what the hell he wants.)

Think is, he does all the cooking and he cooks lovely balanced meals most of the time but because he cooks, he likes to do most of the shopping too. I shouldn't grumble should I when I make it sound like that.. but he keeps buying "treats" and if they weren't in the house I wouldn't eat them.

I do want to lose this weight and I have successfully lost weight before.. but I seem to be lacking in the willpower just now. It's got to stop. I will make a whole new fresh start tomorrow. I will weight and post it too...

katybumpinthenight · 07/10/2007 20:34

spottyshoes don't worry about the cut and paste i'm sure someone can do it
enjoy your wine i haven't got any in or i would be joining you

tangerine it's my pom poms doing all the encouragement !!! i want this for all of us not just me i'm going to try and excercise more this week too, with moving house next week it should be a doodle lol
