So, once again I've started again, drawn lines in the sand, made plans, batched cooked etc (you all know the score!).

I will be slim this year!

Slightly scared of the scales so not willing to weigh until Monday but come and join us to get slender!

All diets and weighing frequencies welcome!

Hi fifty, we are plugging away over here and posting every day to keep each other going.

A reasonable day here so I'm happy with that.

Off to bed soon to stop the snacking!

Done the shopping and didn’t buy any chocolate at all, ooh apart from rice cakes with a tiny chocolate covering but not many calories. I bought loads of raspberries, strawberries, oranges and apples so I’m feeling very virtuous. Going to bed very soon, this is late for me 😂

Fiftysixthnamechange · 27/08/2020 07:22

Day 2.....had an enormous food shop delivered to see us through quarantine, plus not being able to pop out for chocolate is a big help! Decorating the spare room, washing and ironing all the school uniform ready for when the children return should keep me busy.
I'm going to do an online workout this morning, woke up feeling very anxious, I think it's menopause related, I've never suffered with anxiety before and it's deeply unpleasant.

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 27/08/2020 20:02

@Fiftysixthnamechange being busy sounds like a good idea. Hopefully quarantine will be productive for you. Sorry to hear about the anxiety, it sounds awful.

@poorpaws how has your day been?

I've been good again today. I did a roast chicken for tea and ate too much delicious crispy skin but that's not bad in the grand scheme of things. More fruit and Greek yogurt for me for pudding but I have full fat stuff because it's just so much nicer!

OP posts:
poorpaws · 27/08/2020 21:50

fifty I hope your anxiety is easing and you feel brighter tonight.

Red I love chicken, I think I could live on it. I had chicken tonight too with a jacket potato and salad, it was lovely.

It’s done nothing today but rain, absolutely poured all day so I didn’t get any of my normal exercise. Instead I stayed in and baked again. It’s okay because I very rarely eat what I bake when I’m trying to cut down and it stops me sitting down and eating anything else. I did miss the exercise though and should have done a DVD workout but I couldn’t be bothered.

Not many days left in August, last push to do really well 😀

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 28/08/2020 17:15

DC are at my in-laws tonight so we are going to the cinema. I've got some sweets to bring but not many.

I thought Id done quite well today and did plenty of exercise on the dog walk.

Then somehow this evening I’ve got an awful cold, it came out of nowhere and I feel really really awful so I’ve come to bed early after having a huge piece of cake to make myself feel better. I am seriously hoping it’s gone tomorrow because I can gain half a stone when I have a cold, I never stop eating until the cold eases.

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 29/08/2020 19:52

How are you feeling today paws?

How has your day been fifty?

I have been calorific today. Having a v heavy period so I'm up and down emotionally and I could have cheerfully throttled the DC1 at bedtime.

Good day here thanks, decorating the spare room so we ordered an Indian for tonight's dinner, I didn't eat much but it gave me such awful stomach ache I was up half the night! Might have a weigh in tomorrow, not that I've been particularly strict on the diet front but no alcohol or delicious French pastries at least.....

poorpaws · 30/08/2020 22:22

I felt so awful with this cold last night that I couldn’t be bothered to post. I didn’t even bother to get dressed yesterday I felt so ill. I did nothing yesterday but sit in front of the television watching reruns of Hustle and I don’t usually watch much television.

Anyway today I felt a little better and went out with the dogs to get some exercise.

So Red are we weighing on Tuesday morning to get the full loss total for August? I know I’ve not lost nearly as much as I wanted to but I also know that I usually gain weight in August so any loss will be good for me. Hope you’ve done well.

poorpaws · 30/08/2020 22:25

Fifty hope your stomach ache has eased now and if you do weigh good luck 🤞🏻

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 30/08/2020 22:31

Paws yes Tuesday weigh in sounds good to me. If I've maintained I'll be pleased what will the holiday etc.

Hope you are back to your non poorly self soon.

Neighbours cane round this evening which was lovely, drank probably a bit too much and ate to many crisps and nuts! Back on it tomorrow.

Ok Red weigh-in first thing tomorrow morning (before I go out to the moors all day and have a big lunch and an ice cream 😱).

Soooo last push day today, let’s really go for it!

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 31/08/2020 21:01

Yes, well, so.

Today I had a scone with clotted cream and jam! Apple and blackberry jam and a cherry, pistachio and hazelnut scone. Both made by my neighbour. It was delicious!

Then I made blackberry crumble and cinnamon roles and had a serving each of them.Shock

So I'll be posting this mornings weigh in as my end of August results Grin

Not as much as I thought going on in September so I'll keep going.

I’ve had a hell of a day too Red. I spent most of the day making a chocolate and orange cake. It was quite a decadent cake, five eggs and tons and tons of chocolate. My oven is a nightmare and every time I tested the cake to see if it was done it wasn’t . So I’ve got a cake with a burnt top, burnt sides and in the middle it’s lovely, I know because I had two pieces. I had to try it. Just to top it off the very chocolatey buttercream fell off the cake all over the fridge where it was supposedly setting.

I’m going to bed, I’ve had enough of today.

poorpaws · 31/08/2020 21:18

I’ve still got quite a lot going on in September Red so my weight loss will be slowing down dramatically, if there’s any loss at all.

Fiftysixthnamechange · 01/09/2020 08:48

I lost a pound, 1down 19 to go. One more week of quarantine then back to work next Tuesday where my feet won't touch the ground til Christmas 🙈 fitting in exercise will be a challenge and the lure of office treats is always strong around 2pm....

poorpaws · 01/09/2020 19:46

I didn’t have time to weigh this morning because we left so early. Had a lovely day, a lot of eating, and then a most horrendous journey home of over three hours (two accidents, detours, one road closed and a combine harvester in front of us on very narrow lanes). It was the most horrendous journey I’ve had in years and it was after 7.30 before I got home.

Anyway I’m going to have to use my weigh in of yesterday which was 10 stones 10 1/2 pounds which means a grand total loss of 5 lbs for the whole month of August. I’m not displeased with that but I really wanted and needed more of a loss. The problem is I’ve probably put 2 lbs back on today.

So for September I’m hoping to maintain and keep that 5 lb loss somehow. Then into October I’ll try another “push“.

How are you doing Red?

Fifty well done on losing the pound. You’ve only been with us a short time and you’re doing well.

poorpaws · 01/09/2020 19:49

Red I meant to say I couldn’t have done it without you this month, without your support. The one week in the month it all went to pot for me was when you were on holiday so it proves posting daily and having support is very, very important, thank you.

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 01/09/2020 21:45

Fifty well done on her loss. Any loss is a good loss I say! Keep going in September and you'll soon see a difference.

I've been at work today and I am shattered! It is so good to be back though so I am not complaining.

Paws 5lb off is brilliant! Don't put yourself down in the next breath!!!! If you have put some weight back on today it'll be bloat and will come off quickly. Sorry to hear about your horrendous journey today.

I weighed myself yesterday and I'm 2lb down this month but that includes a weeks holiday so I'm very happy with that! I'm aiming for 4lb off in September.

I couldn't have done it without you either Paws so thank you back!

Red well done on the 2 lbs that’s amazing with a holiday in between.

Keep up the good in September and we’ll have a push in October ready for the Christmas festivities. I always gain weight in November cos loads of birthdays including mine.

As I said before September will be difficult for me but I’m going to try hard to at least lose 1-2 lbs during the whole month. I think we’re a good team Red.

poorpaws · 02/09/2020 13:41

*work in September 🙄

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 02/09/2020 20:54

Paws, we are a good team and we can do this!

Another very busy day at work. Bloody Covid. We've had to completely rethink how we do everything. And when I say we, I mean me! And quiet frankly the amount of paperwork it's produced can fuck right off! I've got about 6 todo lists on the go at the moment.

And breathe.

Sorry.

A decent day food wise. Early bed again.

Any loss over the month is a good idea.

How are you doing fifty?

I'm OK thanks, going slightly crazy not being able to leave the house. Although I don't know why I'm bothering as I know so many people who aren't bothering to quarantine at all! Snacking more than I should be out of boredom and drinking most nights to break up the monotony of the day, it's almost enough to make me want to get back to work........ almost.....
