That's so cool comparing diet notes with your Dad, mine keeps saying really irritating things like do you not go for walks anymore. Despite me doing between 6-9 miles a day, very annoying - never once said I wasn't, just decides these random things. I wish I could forget to weigh, it's the lowlight of my day😂

Blimey I don’t walk anywhere near that. You are definitely Going For Walks!

It’s quite a change in him, it’s amazing seeing my dad so much more confident and talking about the heavy weights etc. He actually looks older now he’s at a healthy weight (he’s 70) but I know he’s a lot fitter and stronger, I think he’s helped his sleep apnoea too, and his mood. I just hope that he can get back to it safely as due to his age he’s obviously still being cautious.

In sort of frugal related news I am going to set myself some incentives for each stone boundary. But fitness related things. For example I’d really like some better gym trainers (I got really cheap ones when I first joined as I didn’t know if I’d keep it up!) so I might get them when I first go under 15st. Nice yoga mat/bag at 14 maybe? I also want to do go ape - I am under the maximum weight but I’d still feel more confident after getting some more weight off and I want to get stronger!

Not2bObvious · 21/08/2020 20:37

Fair play to him, that's seriously impressive - I don't blame him wanting to chat about it, sounds like he's a new lease of life. My Dad's closer to 90 than even 80 so I should be more patient for sure.
Love your idea of rewarding yourself with positive presents, that's a great idea!

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/08/2020 06:58

Well done sing ddad.
Its annoying when they get an idea fixed though not, especially if it's wrong

Not2bObvious · 22/08/2020 07:55

It really is life, it's like I got labelled with the fat lazy child since my sisters were both like sticks. And I'm far from lazy or a child at this stage!
Up .6 this morning, went over last night but more than I should cause of thinking I should be having treats because it was Friday iykwim? At least I put the wine down before I did any real damage. Just back from a brisk 80 minute walk, going to laze now

Well done to your dad Sing

Not if weighing is the lowlight of your day is it worth knocking weighing on the head for a while or moving to measuring instead?

SingToTheSky · 22/08/2020 09:48

Aww thanks for the nice comments about my dad :)

Just had a sneaky weigh in and I think it was 0.8lb down but I forgot the number as soon as I left the bathroom 😂 will check properly on Tuesday morning as that’s closer to my usual Monday weigh day. Let’s see how two days of being fed at mum’s affects things 😂

That labelling sucks not some children are built differently ffs. My adult DSDs are non identical twins and one is naturally very wiry (she still sees a dietician sometimes as she’s often been underweight, diagnosed coeliac at 8) and the other has always been stockier and broader framed. Literally from birth. But she still got labelled the chubby one by many from very young. Just glad she’s pretty laid back and shrugged a lot of it off :(

Not2bObvious · 22/08/2020 10:13

It was kind of a joke tbh wolf, I've weighed myself daily for years. I have tried not doing it and it makes little or no difference to my fear of seeing the number or pleasure if it shows me progress. I don't know if I'll ever be able to stop doing it, I need it to stay accountable even if I never get to my actual goal, if I can be 160'ish my clothes fit.

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 22/08/2020 10:15

And there's wayyyy to much elastic in my clothes to rely on them as a measure😉
That's great sing - could easily be more with 3 more days under your ever loosening belt!

Well I'm back from my hols Sad just going to pick up one last takeaway before reality kicks in, but I've not eaten since breakfast, admittedly it was a hotel breakfast of granola with yogurt and berries followed by brioche french toast with berries and cream Grin

Was going to get Chinese but traffic in town was mental so it's local chipper chicken kebab and chips instead.

This week marks the start of back to school bedtimes, my two will be getting up at 6.30am wed week, I'll take them to school on Tues morn myself. I'm wrecked myself so need it.

4 months to Christmas & six months to my cousins wedding so this weight has got to get moving off!!

Not2bObvious · 22/08/2020 17:57

My primary one is back Monday week, secondary Wednesday week - it's going to be a shock to the system getting back to routine, cannot wait! Big drive tomorrow to the South, hoping to get there in 3-3.5 but we'll see. Had high hopes of visiting a few childhood memories but between weather & distances from our base, it's not looking likely. Having a pre-dinner cocktail, may the holiday begin

SnugglySnerd · 22/08/2020 22:12

I never knew your dsds were twins Sing!

Not I have no idea how I am going to get up and ready with the dts and out the house in the mornings for us all to get to school/nursery. Luckily dh can help me as he is still wfh but I am so out of routine!

Think I have lost some weight this week as my jeans now feel a bit tight as opposed to very tight. Should really get some scales! Have gone and had 2 beers tonight though and now I'm annoyed with myself.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/08/2020 07:08

I didn't know that either sing.
Enjoy the holiday not

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/08/2020 07:09

Good on the bit of loseness.

My weight seems to be going up.

SingToTheSky · 23/08/2020 09:17

I suppose I should call them DSDT1 and 2? Even IRL people don’t think they are twins, they don’t even look or act like sisters they are so very different!

Dad is still maintaining his weight loss! He’s thinking of cautiously going back to the gym. He made an amazing salmon dish for dinner and I felt quite spoiled with the huge portion 😳 and much less rice.

I do miss his chips though! 😂

What really amazed me is that I didn’t buy any snacks on the journey despite ample temptation (bus, train, bus, walk through town, bus) - just didn’t want anything and was only hungry when I finally got to mum’s.

Wolfcub · 23/08/2020 09:40

Happier getting back into the bedtime routine will be tough.

Not enjoy your break

1/4lb up. I've just dropped ds off (did some filling and prep in the office first) and was thinking breakfast, coffee, junk all the way home. I drove past every possible option on willpower alone and had crumpets and tea when I got back.

I'm not saying there won't be a takeaway later though, depending how much decorating I do

Not2bObvious · 23/08/2020 15:47

Arrived in the Sunny South (intermittent but fab) House we rented is too cute. Very busy in the town, on second glass of vino in the dinky back yard since pubs aren't open for drinking. Ahhh niceGrin

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 24/08/2020 08:23

172.5lbs this morning, 3 weeks since my last weigh in +4.1lbs. But Chinese last night so hopefully that'll begin to drop quickly enough.

Not2bObvious · 24/08/2020 11:34

Chinese bloat is notorious, half of it be gone by tomorrow if not more happier
I lost track of my food yesterday but going to be more in control today, that means I'm still going to eat loads but I'll record it properly😉

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 24/08/2020 17:49

Not it is what it is now, today was very reserved by comparison.
Crunchy bran & almond milk
Sachet of skyr
Lidl salad bowl and an orange

Going home now to have steak & onions & broccoli & actifry chips, have both sweet potato and regular in so will see

Recording in mfp

Marching out steps. Bloody hungry today

SnugglySnerd · 24/08/2020 22:20

I'm hungry too but we have eaten everything that could feasibly be a snack until the shopping comes tomorrow. We don't even have any cereal left!

SingToTheSky · 24/08/2020 22:37

Hungry here too! Period day 2. Already ate too much crap but trying to still stick to 12hr fast (late dinner + early yoga class tomorrow)

I feel massive 😳🤬
