Hello, I have binged my way through lockdown, I was already a couple of stone overweight.

I am so fed up with myself and am beyond miserable.

Have decided that today is the day I start slim fast!

Anyone wasn't to join me? Would love some company and motivation.

Great thanks.
I remember from last time I did this a few years ago, I didn’t like the taste of the powder tubs at all and could only manage the ready made shakes!
Expensive way of doing it I know!

today118 · 30/05/2020 18:51

@Fiddlersgreen yes the ready made slim fast taste kind of smoother than the tub, but I've found that mixing with a hand blender for ages then adding ice makes a massive difference.

I have vanilla and chocolate. I also bought a blender a few weeks ago to make frozen cocktails Grinnow new repurposed for slim fast. Love vanilla with a a handful of blueberries or frozen mango (like solero) and ice and give it a good blend! Or instant coffee. Yum!

Might try some coconut milk (the alpro type not the korma one)

So today
B - 2 x fresh apricots
L - vanilla shake with blueberries
Sn- half a muffin ( not nice)
D- smoked turkey, jacket pots, coleslaw
Treat- Mini fake magnum
Drink - Gin and slim Gin

Total cals : 1202

Also, the ready made shakes are gluten-free but the powder isn’t.

Just thought I’d flag that in case anyone hadn’t noticed.

I’m thinking of doing this for June
Just need to get some of the damn stuff now
Superdrug do their own versions which are pretty good and cheaper
I love the nutty meal replacements bars quite often have those around the house when I can’t be arsed with breakfast

Anon20201 · 30/05/2020 22:05

Good luck for tomorrow everyone! New day tomorrow and my re-start tomorrow do day 1. I’ve got Tesco slim chocolate n vanilla and old tubs of slim fast chocolate n banana. Yeah definitely in blender with ice makes a big difference. Aim to drink lots of water too

today118 · 30/05/2020 22:13

@Anon20201 good luck for tomorrow. You can do this.

How much weight do you need to shift, I couldn't brave the scales this morning but I will in the morning.

F as starting up on slim and save next week. Lost a good stone last time I was in it. Gained again since then due to illness and lockdown and have around 5 stone to lose.

Just ordered more stuff so realistically won't be here until Monday.

ginginchinchin · 30/05/2020 22:24

Another day nearly over. Todays packs were porridge for breakfast, a chewy chocolate bar for lunch, spicy spaghetti with a birds eye family favourites pack for evening meal and I'm about to polish off a strawberry shake and strawberry jelly for my daily treat.

I've found it easier to follow this every day (varying the packs) as I feel I've had a substantial meal even though the total is around 650 calories for the day.

I have to say I've tried this loads of times and never got past the first week but this time it's clicked. I'm not worried about big weekly losses - if I can lose 2lb a week I'll be so happy!

ginginchinchin · 30/05/2020 22:24

@brokenchair I'm on s&s too!

today118 · 31/05/2020 08:39

Good morning, I braved the scales and I weigh 11' 9.75lbs. I am only 5'2 so significantly over weight.

@Anon20201 are you going to start today? Good luck.

@today118 well done for braving the scales. Seeing the numbers at the start can be scary, but it will definitely feel better when you see the numbers falling aha!

I’ve had a couple of glasses of water to start off with, just finished 30 mins on my stationary bike. Then will have breakfast around 10:30am- will be having my favourite Caramel Temptation slimfast shakeSmile

Good luck everyone!

Anon20201 · 31/05/2020 09:22

@today118 well done for being brave and weighing yourself! I know it’s tough but at least you will have a starting point now.

Yes I’m starting today! I’m looking forward to it actually I’m going to have slim fast banana shake at 10am then another at 1pm and healthy dinner later. Goodluck everyone.

today118 · 31/05/2020 09:43

@Anon20201 I am so pleased that you are feeling more positive today and looking forward to starting.

I will be walking the dog in a bit, before it gets too hot.

@ginginchinchin I love the bars! Could eat two a day. Are you in the FB group. I find it supportive.

I still have a few bars and shakes so B was an apricot bar, just had an apple, lunch is a shake, then I'll.have some.nuts or something. Haven't thought about dinner but maybe a chicken salad with some feta cheese.

I'm doing one bar and one shake or meal replacement and one home cooked meal per day. Then 2-3 100 kc snacks per day. Aiming for around 1200 per day.

0utForAWalkBitch · 31/05/2020 12:22

I'm starting this too, may I please join the thread?

I'm doing Huel. I find the Slim Fast etc too sweet so I start craving savoury stuff.

I was already 2 stone overweight and have put on nearly another since lockdown, so 3 to lose.

I'm doing 800 cals a day.

today118 · 31/05/2020 13:07

Hi @0utForAWalkBitch I am the same. Was at least two stone overweight then at least another lockdown stone. I'm ok with the sweetness of slim fast, I could happily live off sweet food and ignore anything savoury!

Good luck.

I'm joining too (after having my wrist slapped on the other thread Grin). Not exactly starting today, but still trying...

August 2018 I was the heaviest I've been, and no amount of "eat less/ more healthily, move more" was helping. I started Slimfast with the aim of losing 1 stone, lost 2/3, plateaued for ages and then lost the rest and more with the aid of a throat infection that stopped me eating for a week.

I'm peri, I've started HRT and I'm a lazy arse. I'm now 5lbs above where I plateaued and I want them gone. I should be able to do that in 2 months? I started running again this morning, and will aim to do at least 3x a week. So far today I had my weekend treat breakfast, no snack and a shake for lunch. And lots of water! Planning on one afternoon snack and I'll make dinner as early as possible.

My shake tip is to experiment with flavours. I use a blender for mine and make them with a frozen shot of espresso, topping up the liquid with milk, one scoop of chocolate and one scoop of caffe latte powder. They're delicious. You can also get a great range of 0 cal flavour drops from My Protein to drop into shakes and make them more interesting. Eg cherry and almond in a vanilla shake = cherry bakewell.

Good luck everyone! It does work if you really set your mind to it.

cherrypiepie · 31/05/2020 15:11

@LlamaofDrama will hav w a look at the flavouring drops. Had chocolate chalet with coffee powder and skinny syrup in it at lunch.

So today - need fibre hence ...
B 30g branflakes- 80ml Skimmed milk 11g raisins =176 cals
L - choc shake
D - chicken souvlaki flatbread and Greek salad 531cals
Drink - gin and tonic
Treat - tbc

Anon20201 · 31/05/2020 18:30

@cherrypiepie I’m giving up alcohol as I tend to binge more after drinking! How are u managing it with gin n t? Maybe that’s what I’ll swap to as I drink red wine or vodka n Diet Coke but I will eat lots more after drinking.

cherrypiepie · 31/05/2020 19:55

I just have it as one of my snacks Grin

I only have one tho as I am the same and will open the crisps after a few. We have had the week off work this week so will be a bit stricter this week as I do drink too much!

I am using nutracheck calorie app too to keep track -it's fab.

Anon20201 · 31/05/2020 21:52

I’ve just found my old journal that I used for losing weight before my wedding. I was a size 8 on my wedding day. I’m going to make a journal now as I think it helps writing food down. Maybe might work for you all too? I just noticed I used to drink lots of herbal tea so that might help too.

Anon20201 · 31/05/2020 21:54

@cherrypiepie I might swap to gin and tonic too after I’ve lost about 7lb as I don’t trust myself now to just have one!

Anon20201 · 31/05/2020 21:55

@today118 how’s it gone for you?

How’s everyone else doing?

today118 · 01/06/2020 07:25

Just checking in.

@Anon20201 so pleased that you managed to get through yesterday. Keep it going.

I'm doing ok, was a bit fed up last night when my lot tucked into take away, I very nearly caved but thought better of it. Woke up this morning feeling positive but bloody starving!
