Ah, bugger it - it's only a number - I am 15st 8 lbs. I put on a stone in a month, now lost 6lbs - so I hit 16st

Eddas · 20/09/2007 13:31

you're right it's only a number, as dh keeps telling me, but it's still hard to tell people. I at the weight i must've been when 9months pg, i know it's 'allowed' but i must have been some weight! But then I was heavily pg over easter and people actually bought me eggs, then I got loads of choccies after having ds, yum

I was 14 after giving birth, 12 when I got pregnant - it just keeps going up and up!

doublethelovedoublethekisses · 20/09/2007 13:37

i actually wasn't that much heavier when pregnant with the twins... about 15 1/2 stone at the end. my weight gain came when on maternity leave and i had access to the biscuit tin all day...

sugar34plum · 20/09/2007 13:45

The food may yaste yum but leaves us feeling awful about our selves so why do we do it?

2 yrs ago before dd3 i was a 12/14 and i loved it felt so good and im determined i will get there again.

We all will not without a tantrum or 2 along the way!!!

Sunshine78 · 20/09/2007 13:50

Its taken nearly a year as my dd will be 1 next month and I started the diet when she was about 6 weeks old, However have stayed the same since June but now feel ready to give it another go and loose the final stone (know will still be on the heavy side for 5ft6 but love food too much to starve myself any thinner) Should take me to a comfortable 14 .

doublethelovedoublethekisses · 20/09/2007 13:54

year for me as well. hate it that my mum keeps telling me "you've just had twins" that excuse doesn't wash for me anymore... time to take some action! am off for that walk now bbs

doublethelovedoublethekisses · 20/09/2007 16:01

glad to see i'm not the only one to have fallen off the wagon already!! an old lady gave twins a quid and told me to get them some sweets... completely forgot i was trying to diet and treated myself as well! oops! nevermind, will carry on regardless

Eddas · 20/09/2007 16:58

the ocassional blip is expected

Sophieandbelly, I was much like you before having ds, really wanted to lose the weight quickly. When it came to it I really wasn't ready to diet. I am now and he's 5 months. Feel free to join in, I hope we continue to support each other for a long time. I think I'll be taking a LONG time to lose my weight. Better that way though as it's more likely to stay off.

I really need to change the way I view food I think. Today I went to chemist(dd has a cold and cough) and my immediate thought was, right i'll go to the chemist and then get some chocolate. I didn't realise how many times I do that. So one of my aims is to stop buying stuff when I'm at the shops. That should help. Plus i'll save money that we don't actually have.

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 20/09/2007 17:04

i just had hot choc..... although admittedly better for my choc craving than 4 choc bars (which is what id normally eat

doublethelovedoublethekisses · 20/09/2007 17:08

mmm, that's one thing i'm a bit worried about. money! things are a bit tighter than usual this month and not really in the position to stock up on things i should be eating! think my problem is snacking in beteen though so if i stop that and do the best i can with what we've got in the house (which is plenty!) i might be able to shift a bit

Quootiepie · 20/09/2007 17:33

OK, I am not doing that but I did eat half a pack of bourbons. Now, if I have eaten about 800 kcals worth of biccies (which I just worked out [pig]) if I don't have dinner, of say 800 kcals how can I still get fat? Today in total I have eaten about... 1300 and doubt I'll have anything else - is it what I am eating? (Biccies is a rarity in this house, but I still only eat about 1000-1300 kcals a day but mostly carbs)

sugar34plum · 20/09/2007 18:14

what about eating polos when a snack attack hits? that way we feel like we are eating but without the fat or calories and after the polo if we eat it'll taste pants? good idea or not?

Sunshine78 · 20/09/2007 20:27

was hoping to log on tonight for some moral support about not falling off the wagon and I see some already have! Never mind! Dh has gone out and there is a v large bar of chocolate in the cupboard calling to me but I am determined not to give in. HELP some one please.

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 20/09/2007 20:31

well bad day today...think i might put this off until my dads out of hospital.

sorry guys will be back soon with more determination and more time to eat properly!

Sunshine78 · 20/09/2007 20:34

sorry to hear that sleepless. Hope all will be well soon and you can get back on track I'm sure we'll still be here waiting for you!

Eddas · 20/09/2007 21:11

sleepless, it's hard to think about dieting with other things going on. Follow the thread if you can, and then hopefully join back in when you are ready.

Sunshine, did you eat it?!

My willpower has so far remained in tact. I am feeling a little peckish but I don't NEED to eat so will try a glass of water it'll all be worth it when i can look in a mirror and actually think I look ok

Charlee · 21/09/2007 07:23

Hey, hey, hey ladies come on now it doesn't matter if we fall off the wagon ocassionally as long as we pick our selves up dust down and jump strieght on!

It looks as if Jack may be going in to hospital today so i will be on my toast diet!

I had a humungous green salad last night for tea, admittedly it did have a tiny bit of stilton in but the greenness certainly out did that!

Keep strong ladies

P.S - if your choccy cravings get to strong, try and get your hands on some marsbar shake its low fat and delicious!

doublethelovedoublethekisses · 21/09/2007 09:45
