Had toast and a glass or water even though my 2 babies are playing up a treat (this is the point i wouls usually reach for the choccy tin!) but i refuse to be beaten.

Sunshine78 · 24/09/2007 08:22

Hi everyone just been catching up on whats been going on over the weekend. We only have a lap top at home and it felt like too much hassle to get it out. I will weigh in later today ( I go to boots so I get a printout and cant cheat!) Not had a good weekend as Friday I gave in to chocolate and had a king size twiz, chunky kit kat, and three of the large quality street things that are out again now. Not good at all I just need to learn some self restraint I havent even got the excuse that my period is due! What am I to do with myself?

doublethelovedoublethekisses · 24/09/2007 09:09

Morning all! i'm currently munching my way through 1/2 a grapefruit and a slice of brown toast. considering af last week i have done surprisingly well- as i did have a couple of slip ups i can only put it down to cutting out the (many, many) snacks i used to eat! anyway here goes...

-dtldtk - Loss 6 lbs

This is definitely the kick start i needed and Eddas you're right it is much easier when you're not on your own so I owe you a huge Thanks!!

Eddas · 24/09/2007 09:48

Excuse the title of my last post, I do love friends

fab loss dtldtk, brilliant! glad i've helped, you lot really are helping me too

Sunshine, that sounds VERY much lik my usual diet none of this half hearted falling off the wagon, just go head first right into the chocolate tin and eat it ALL

Well done on the restraint EAH and Charlee, don't let the blighters(dc's) make us lardy>>

Ah sweet chocolate how i've missed you do'y think I can convince myself that chocolate is the work of the devil maybe then I will not go back to it's evil ways

OP posts:
doublethelovedoublethekisses · 24/09/2007 10:10

chocolate is the work of the devil so not much convincing needed imo!!
Jaffa Cakes! much lower in fat and have stopped me going crazy when i thought i was just about ready to give up! Only needed one/two to get me throuth the day

Sunshine78 · 24/09/2007 12:40

I've just been to get weighted and I know its my own fault for eatting all that chocolate but I lost 0 pounds.

Eddas · 24/09/2007 15:25

sunshine, i know it's disappointing but at least it was 0 loss not a 1/2 gain I like to try to find the bright side of things

Thanks Eddas - will try better this week although going to be hard at the weekend as traveling by train to Newcastle to watch dh run in the great north run - plenty of time for getting the munchies on the train and while I wait for him to finish! Has anyone any ideas how I can avoid pigging out in the buffet car - know I should do a healthy pack up but they dont seem very appealing when you see all the delights the on offer!

Charlee · 24/09/2007 18:12

I had a burger for lunch (i know not healthy) but it was very salady, and i haven't snacked.

Havinf mexican for dinner Enchiladas but will be having mainly salad with mine.

Did a PG test and was BFN! (phew!)

Will go on ym step machine tonight.

eandh · 24/09/2007 19:46

Right had a great 1st day good breakfast lus wholemeal ham sandwich and apple for lunch, went to eddas house this afternoon and had banging headache (think it is sugar meltdown!) got home felt very shaky and sweaty and was sick (strange!) had some water and 1/2 digestive biscuit and called my lovely oap neighbour who popped round (she fed the dd's as I had cooked dinner but felt queasy) gave dd's bath and laid on sofa with them and felt fine.

In amomgst all of that I forgot to put my jacket spud on so been through my old ww books and decided to grill 2 sausages made a small portion of mash and baked beans (when I worked out points value if I was doing ww would be within my limit) really really really want chocolate now but am resisting and eating an apple!

eandh · 24/09/2007 19:46

lus=lunch!

Pinions · 24/09/2007 21:31

Fab thread Eddas congrats .

Well after my famed weight loss though I would add my two penneth in what helped me (5 stone in 5 months ouch).

Planning. Make sure you plan and buy ahead. Try to shop online then you will buy more of the "right foods".

This is not a time for fancy new recipes, keep it simple. The simpler it is, the easier it is.

Every night, that is every single night make sure your plate is at least half a plate of either salad or veg. Can have cheese sauce/gravy to make veg more bearable. The more veg you eat the more you will lose weight. Morrisons own eat smart/Weightwatcher meals/Tescos healthy living are all very low in cals and can be bumped up with veg. Very filling. Large bowl of muesli for breakfast and ryveta/diet soup for lunch.Small baked beans and brown pitta.

CUT OUT all potatoes/chips/roast potatoes/baked potatoes. Bread/baguettes/ciabatta. Toast. Pasta. The obvious, crisps/treats/choc/biscuits.Stodge.

If you don't have it in the house you CAN'T eat it and you are unlikely to go out at 9 at night unless you really are desperate.

If you are a serial snacker/stress eater, then you can snack all day if you like just aslong as it it the right kind of snack.

Ryveta and extra light soft cheese and mango chutney does it for me. Could also try cherry tomatoes, cucumber sticks, olives, matzos crackers.

Try to avoid eating out as this is almost impossible to do and "be good".

Diet drinks, coke zero. Great for filling you up and can be treated a snack. And don't forget to drink water at least 6-8 glasses.Options 37 cal hot choc for choc cravings.

Alcohol. Limit to one night a week. The more you drink the more you will want to eat.

And the dreaded exercise. Whatever you do and you will double your weight loss.

This may sound a bit hitlerish but it WORKS and you won't have to do it forever because it is QUICK weightloss.

And sheer bloody determination. You deserve to lose weight.

eandh · 25/09/2007 07:22

thanks for all that advice pinions - I am going to try some of it (I cannot live without a small bit of bread or potato each day but am def halving the amount!!)

Just had a big bowl of cereal and a bowl of chopped fruit (always seems more appealing chopped up had apples/grapes/peach)

Am planning on liquid lunch of some sort (soup etc) and salad tonight although need to decide if ham/tuna/prawn

Good luck for today everyone!!!

doublethelovedoublethekisses · 25/09/2007 10:03

morning to one and all! so... not a fantastic day yesterday, had spag bol for dinner but ok the rest of the day! have started my day with 1/2 grapefruit and 2 slices of wholemeal toast and plan to have ham salad sandwich for lunch with some fruit. Not sure what's for dinner yet but will try for something a bit lower in fat than last night!!

LadyOfWaffle · 25/09/2007 11:14

are we weighing in? We weighing on Mondays now? Eek! I have swapedthe weetos (only because we have run out ) for philly on toast (not alot better!) so feel less fat at the mo. but DH is going to grab me some bran flakes for breakfast. I never know what else to eat throughout the day though, I just tend to snack really. Anyhow, I better go weigh myself, as long as I haven't put any on I will be happy!

LadyOfWaffle · 25/09/2007 11:16

wow, 1/2 a grapefruit and wholemeal toast? I was so chuffed with philly on (white!) toast! Anyway, that was just for today because I don't think there is anything else. No idea what to have for lunch though, what I think is healthy ends up not being!

Sunshine78 · 25/09/2007 11:18

Had a good day yesterday am sort of following ww and write down everything I eat (very boring but it works!!)I am allowed 22 points but only had 16 and today I'm aiming for 16 again (trying to save abit for the weekend) Am also going ot the gym tonight after work have decided to set my self a goal of running a 10k by May next year I did it before dd was born and I'm sure I can do it again.

Charlee · 25/09/2007 12:16

I had half a grapefruit from breakfast...................... it was gross.

Have picek at various grapes and suc things for lunch.

Am thinking just a big salad for dinner i have alot of lettuse to use!

Eddas · 25/09/2007 13:08

hi pinions, thanks for all that info, should help loads! You will be my inspiration

I have been good but I think my dinners need, erm, work, shall we say I had chicken kiev(garlic), chips and beans last night, yum, but not very good.

So I have fruit and fibre in the mornings(as good as museli?) and started having salads for lunch, but diverted to marmite on toast the last few days. So if I switch and have some soup that may work. Then I can plan meals better and make sure dinner is either something with veg or salad. Right sounds like a plan. I said before, not too keen on potatoes so that's not an issue, it'll be the pasta. I have switched to wholewheat and maybe if I just cut down

Please excuse the musings, typing what my brain is filling with interesting huh

I will definately do my meal plan tonight and online shop tonight. hopefully delivery'll be asap coz the cupboards are bare, no crap either, just bare

mammyjo · 25/09/2007 13:36

Hi Eddas. Think I need to join in with you too! Wont even divulge my weight on here, but lets just say I have significantly more to lose than you! It actually doesnt bother me too much as I am pretty comfortable in my own skin, but for health reasons I really need to do something. Will plan to start next week as have already done this weeks shopping!!

Sunshine78 · 25/09/2007 13:51

I managed to get round M+S at lunch time and restricted mysefl to one of there yummy fruit salads. I closed my ears to the chocolate that was calling my name .

I also hate grapefruit!

Hello and welcome mammyjo it doesn't matter how much you weigh or how much you want to lose its the actually doing it that counts! I'm also sure you will notice a difference in your health when you start to loose it I know I did.

Eddas · 25/09/2007 14:22

Hi mammyjo, glad you're gonna join us.
Support is a must for me on a diet, and I so want to lose weight(eddas fears she may be repeating herself, surely not, but if i keep saying it maybe I can convince myself)

sunshine, well done on resisting, it keeps calling me too, evil stuff

OP posts:
Sunshine78 · 25/09/2007 15:00
