Apologies for the terrible title but I wanted to encapsulate the boss and how supportive everyone is.

Sorry for my strop.

I warmed up walking for five minutes, ran for 25, then walked so the total time out was almost two hours. I was feeling low and just didn't want to go home. Once back I weighed myself and not only was I lower than before I was 0.2lb down from yesterday. No clue how but I will take it.

No apologies needed! That's a big walk! We went for a walk at the river, but it got very busy on the tow path, so that was stressful. Better in the park next door where you can spread out and buy ice cream

Foreverlexicon · 15/06/2020 08:20

I’m jumping back on the wagon today. Back to 1600 calories a day and exercise at least 4 times a week.

I’ve put on 5lb in the last month and frankly my MH is better when I stick to it. I’m going to keep sticking to it when my partner is here (might go up to 2000 cal some days) as it takes me forever to get back on the wagon otherwise.

Today I’m going for a run, will ride the horse and will carry on decorating the kitchen.

RubySlippers77 · 15/06/2020 09:48

More trauma here for DTS2 who managed to fall over on a gravel path during a walk yesterday... scraped hands and knees and a bump on his head. Sigh. At least his finger has stopped bleeding!

We live near a towpath too @MrsJonesAndMe and it's incredibly busy! I think because it's convenient for cyclists as well as walkers and is fairly busy even in 'normal' times. The DC would completely agree with you about the ice cream though Grin glad you are feeling better after a long cry, sounds like it was much needed.

Did you sort out anything for your therapy @SunshineCake? I am in awe of your running by the way!! I managed w4r1 although it might have been a bit easier having DTS1 with me, he kept needing a sit down so I had to run in circles around him... I thought I would miss going to the shops a bit more TBH but apart from the essentials I really haven't been bothered, it panics me a bit too when I go in shops/ supermarkets and people aren't social distancing. To be fair however I will be going to Primark as soon as I can to stock up on pyjamas, slippers and a few other bits!

Brilliant job with your ankle @fallfallfall, you must be pleased that it's healing well. Hopefully you'll be able to get back outside soon too.

Hope you are doing ok @Foreverlexicon, and that you enjoy your running and horse riding today. Perhaps plan some delicious meals within your calorie allowance too? I know I sometimes feel like it's not worth making the effort if it's just me to cook for, but it does feel better when I do - made a big chilli last night to last a couple of days.

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 I agree with your list! I think it's the uncertainty that gets to me too; I'm very much a planning person and of course it's just not possible at the moment. DP would like to go on holiday (as our holiday in April was cancelled, of course!) later in the year - nothing wildly expensive and there are some bargains around at the moment - but who knows if we'll be able to fly by then, where we can go, if quarantine will still be in place, if the DC will be in school full/ part time etc etc? With no deal Brexit looming too I would rather save the money. I'm on a couple of the Preppers threads here to stock up whilst the shops are (relatively) full and the weather is nice enough that I don't mind queuing - I can't imagine doing this in winter Confused

Well all, I am exercising more than ever but STILL fat. Aaarrggghhh! I really need an hour or so just to sit and plan. I worry about DP too as he is either starving himself or shovelling food in and then wonders why he isn't losing weight. He's so shattered after we do a long walk and then will eat a big bag of crisps and drink a whole bottle of wine. And then I worry about the DC as I need to lose weight and get fitter so they have at least one parent as a good example. And I need to earn some money. It's a stressful time!

SunshineCake · 15/06/2020 10:58

Sounds a good plan, *@Foreverlexicon.

My plan is to stop sabotaging my health and weight and to not just have a little something I know full well is on the list of intolerances. Having said that, lunch fails but I can't face waste and no one else to eat it. I am also not weighing every day. I was up again this morning and it should be a nice boost if I stick to plan A to weigh in a week or more and then plan B will give me a reward. Hopefully.

Poor LittleRuby. I hope he is all better now.

I haven't heard re my therapy but I know I can't cope with doing it by style or on the phone so I just have to wait. Still enjoying the running and amazing tbh I can do as much as I can. Just shows that my usual starting at 100 mph at certain things just doesn't work Hmm

MrsJonesAndMe · 15/06/2020 12:35

It's hard to have everything up in the air isn't it @RubySlippers77 I do worry about the example I set my children. DH really doesn't eat much sweet stuff, but has beer instead.

Sounding very motivated @foreverlexicon and @SunshineCake

I started my day by having the last bit of cake and hot chocolate Hmm I just can't get my head into gear with all this going on! Check in with you later. Hope all OK that side of the pond @fallfallfall

SunshineCake · 15/06/2020 12:45

I would have started the day with cake too if dis had been here to ask if I could have some as it is his birthday cake. But tbh it wasn't nice enough to risk tummy issues.

fallfallfall · 15/06/2020 15:58

All is well, mid month and my weight has stopped going up, back down to 156.2, visualizing 155.
I’m really enjoying my new routine, dh doesn’t seem too impressed by the slow instructions of the tai chi or the annoying tone of my “walk walk walk” lady but he’s got plenty to keep him busy. After all it’s bee keeping time, only 8 jars left from last years 500+!!
My next appt is via phone, I’m wanting the hardware removed. Fingers crossed the dr agrees.
My dh is in reasonable shape, little aches and pains based on heavy lifting and carrying but at 6’2” he carries his excess wt well. Certainly could loose 10-15 but he loves food. I just don’t buy treats often. But we’ve been enjoying a nightly dessert...affogato (espresso poured on top of vanilla ice cream). Dh has a very good espresso machine so it’s a nice treat.
I’ve received a request for 30 generic greeting cards...so I’ve been focused on that.
Covid here is very low, some shops are more strict on the distancing and masks than others. The toilet lock down in shops is annoying.
Don’t be to hard on yourselves ladies, try and find enjoyment in the challenges. I loved when the little ones got hurt, cuz I’d get to snuggle them ;). Reminds me I should check on my baby, not heard from him in a week.

SunshineCake · 15/06/2020 17:13

I have really struggled today. Dh went to work. DS1 joined him after lunch to help out. DS went to school. I couldn't get motivated and feel I have done nothing. Feel tearful with dry eyes, sick, tired, anxious. Don't know why really.

OP posts:
MrsJonesAndMe · 15/06/2020 20:01

Sounds like you've got it under control @fallfallfall

It's OK to feel like that. The world is upside down at the moment @SunshineCake

Had a good day, but not so much on the food front. Have stopped eating after 10 hours Hmm Did yoga - night 3 in a row.

New day tomorrow.

Foreverlexicon · 16/06/2020 06:27

Nothing wrong with a day of doing nothing sometimes @SunshineCake

I’ve decided I want to reach my goal by 16th August - just under 9 weeks to shift 20lb so I’m going to have to work hard but I think it’s doable. That’s my relationship anniversary so a special occasion and I think having a goal will help keep me on track.

Yesterday was a good day. Today will do a 40 min Jillian Michaels DVD and I have a jumping lesson on the horse. Staying round a friends tonight (appreciate this is disregarding lockdown rules but I reached rock bottom last week and frankly it’s imperative to my survival right now) and I’ve already cross examined her on dinner so I’m set.

Have a good day everyone.

SunshineCake · 16/06/2020 12:53

Afternoon everyone

Some times I decide to give myself a sort of day off and those days are good by yesterday wasn't one of those. I feel a bit better today but not fully into things.

I didn't weigh ✔️
I ran ✔️
Hurt my knee and are now limping at times ✔️
Knocked a big cup of water all over my bedside table and floor✖️
DS has lost two bottles of sanitiser✖️
Laid top soil ✔️
Done two wash loads ✔️
Dog has been sick on the rug ✖️
Wrapped two gifts and wrote a card ✔️
Dinner is planned and now a quiet afternoon✔️

Have a nice time with your friend *@Foreverlexicon.

OP posts:
MrsJonesAndMe · 16/06/2020 16:11

You absolutely can go and do that @Foreverlexicon you need the support.

Oh, bit of a mixed bag @SunshineCake! Hope no more disasters!

I've taken everyone out for a hot choc/pastry and walk this morning. Then we've worked really hard on respective things - school work/cleaning etc and now the roast is about to come out to rest for tea and then I will brush my teeth and do my yoga.

Managed a 16 1/4 hr fast and will close the window within 7 hours to try and get back on track. Will weigh in tomorrow morning and see where I'm at.

Have a good evening x

SunshineCake · 16/06/2020 16:15

Definitely should have been a ✖️after the knee pain!

Bonus walk with the dog this aft and looking forward to dh and ds coming home.

OP posts:
MrsJonesAndMe · 16/06/2020 18:10

I did wonder Grin

Hope they've both had a good day and you coped.

SunshineCake · 16/06/2020 18:38

DS came in starving Grin. Seems he has impressed the manager with how quick he is getting the work done.

Feel distant from dh. Didn't get a lot of notice he was going back to work and no discussion. Don't want him being how I don't want him to be.

I'm tired. Upset about my knee and worried I won't be able to run on Thursday.

OP posts:
fallfallfall · 17/06/2020 06:32

Fingers crossed for you sunshine!
Forever, wow August isn’t far off! Go girl go :)
Stay focused mrsjones
Positive thoughts on a nice day everyone.

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/06/2020 07:28

Well I did manage it despite my stomach rumbling last night and this morning Blush Going up to get ready and weigh in a minute.

Oh dear @SunshineCake relationships require work and communication don't they? My DH has been back to the one I recognise - long may it last.

How are you doing @fallfallfall?

RubySlippers77 · 17/06/2020 13:17

How did your weigh in go @MrsJonesAndMe?

I did w4r2 today @SunshineCake. Hurting knees here too!

SunshineCake · 17/06/2020 15:37

For many years dh and I didn't have to work at our relationship. It was easy and just worked. Even when we went through horrific times we were solid and fine. Then he did something bad and I felt like I was the one doing all the work. Lately I won't do it but will ask for what I need and tell him when he is being an arse. He takes it and we are fine but sometimes I wish I had time alone but then I'd miss him so..

Still not weighing. Was excited to get my giant bags of plain and self raising gluten free flour this morning only to discover they are made of rice flour. I am intolerant to rice....at least they don't have wheat in which is worse.

I walked the dog for nearly two hours, slowly though, and then haven't stopped all day. I tripped over something again in the garage trying to get to the recycling bin so I have spent hours sorting, cleaning, tidying in the garage. I've made fish pie for dh and I and mash to go with plain fish for the kids, emptied and loaded the dishwasher twice, legged out two wash loads then brought them in when the storm came, homered every where, folded up yesterday's washing and then later, probably tomorrow I will sort out a handful of black sacks full of out grown clothes.

Tomorrow I run. My knee is better than yesterday but not 100% but I will try.

OP posts:
MrsJonesAndMe · 17/06/2020 16:03

we've mostly been fine too, despite some very stressful times...but I guess it can't all be smooth sailing.

I'm annoyed with myself because I'm at 24.6lbs down and I got as low as 30lbs at one stage, but there we go Hmm

Hope your knees are feeling better both of you!

How are the boys back at school @RubySlippers77?

RubySlippers77 · 17/06/2020 21:17

Blimey @SunshineCake, my legs have been so stiff today, I don't think I could have done any more walking! Although it hurts more if I stop for a while and then start to move again... no run tomorrow but will walk a bit further instead. What I really want is to have more energy - enjoy playing with the DC a bit more, keep the house clean with less effort - but everything seems like such a drudge at the moment. And I am so bloody fed up of the DC squabbling - could happily have given them to the highest bidder today...

Honestly before we had DC, I thought DP & I were in it for the long haul, we were such friends as well as partners. Then we had the DTs, he left me to do all the boring hard work stuff and wanted to be very much a Disney dad. We just seem to have so little in common nowadays and not much to talk about even when we (very rarely!) get the chance to talk uninterruptedly Sad

The boys are doing ok at school thank you @MrsJonesAndMe, if still a bit confused about why some of their friends aren't back. The school are trying out various ways of social distancing whilst also trying to get more children back; who knows what it will be like come September?!

fallfallfall · 17/06/2020 23:58

it all depends if you really want to BUT when the kids leave home it kind of gets better. in december we'll have our 40th anniversary and indeed some days and moments were unpleasant but way more good than not.
i'm weighing in daily, and putting in effort with food choices and exercise.

meanwhile i heard from the youngest, middle and oldest.
and have been approved for hardware removal surgery in 2-3 months!!

MrsJonesAndMe · 18/06/2020 06:59

Oh @RubySlippers77 it is a hard slog when they're little. I'm finding it gets better the older they get (well different at least)

Glad they're OK at school. I think the Govt will drop the social distancing just before Sept so they can all go back. Shocking lack of planning and clarity! Shock

That's great news @fallfallfall Wow, what a long commitment!

Wet and wet and wet all day apparently.

Thinking of you @Foreverlexicon
