Banting is my favourite old fashioned word. Means slimming, and I got it from Agatha Christie Grin

*cankles not candles!

Octopus37 · 06/02/2020 07:19

Cankles, that's very true, I go with having a bit so I don't feel deprived. 9st5.5 today, hope everyone has a good day today.

Heygirlheyboy · 06/02/2020 07:24

I'd feel more deprived doing that!! I don't usually weigh mid week but I'm a 3/4 down on tues, measly I know but I'll take it,needed a lift!!

Twixes · 06/02/2020 08:07

Progress here too! Down half a lb. My random and not particularly appetising corn and cheese lunch probably was fairly nutritious and kept me full until I could eat dinner at 9pm last night.

Will try the porridge pot idea @WellErr thanks for the tip.

I managed to watch another couple of Jordan Syatt. He's great, so sensible! I worked out my muggle maths calories and it's higher than what MyFitnessPal gives me which is the interesting. I also watched his starvation mode one which was good.

I can't believe he's 5ft4!

Twixes · 06/02/2020 08:10

So many typos, sorry! Confused

everycowandagain · 06/02/2020 08:13

@Twixes I just had a flash back to a side dish my mum made for a family buffet. It was sweetcorn with little cubes of cheese, warmed so the cheese was a bit melty, with some Paprika. It was apparently an actual recipe from a book! So maybe your lunch wasn't so random after all!!

Porpoises · 06/02/2020 08:15

Well done to those who lost! @Octopus37 hope your day goes better than yesterday.

Patchworksack · 06/02/2020 08:22

I am sticking for this week on 9'5 (back down from Monday though) but on the plus size I am wearing size 10 jeans I haven't been able to breathe in for a while. Wink

Heygirlheyboy · 06/02/2020 08:23

Yes Octopus37 here's to a better day.

Menu today: ONO still tweaking
Lunch: Turkey on homemade soda with vegetable soup
Snack: small apple
That leaves me with 635 for my dinner :)

Heygirlheyboy · 06/02/2020 08:24

Brilliant Patchwork!

TheHoundsofLove · 06/02/2020 08:28

It's just the best feeling isn't it Patchwork ?! Smile
I hope you have less trials and tribulations today Octopus .
Sweetcorn is one of my most hated foods, so all this talk of entire tins being eaten is nearly pushing me over the edge... Grin

Octopus37 · 06/02/2020 08:32

Well done to those losers, think we are all getting there bit by bit. New day today. Onwards and downwards

DontFundHate · 06/02/2020 09:50

I like the idea of cake and drinking, might try to keep that in mind next time I feel like a cake binge, as I would never do that with alcohol

DontFundHate · 06/02/2020 09:50

Well done @Twixes and @Patchworksack

Wineloffa · 06/02/2020 12:36

I’m just back from a Health Check where I was weighed. On the little print out, it states that my weight is 8st 13lb! Yes! And I have a metabolic age of 28 (I’m 40). My BMR is 1237.

Today’s menu is
B- boiled egg and wheaten bread toast
L- bowl homemade veg soup
D- quiche and salad

S- Apple, banana, yogurt

Well done @Twixes and @Patchworksack

TheHoundsofLove · 06/02/2020 13:03

That's great Wine ! How did they calculate your metabolic age?

Wineloffa · 06/02/2020 14:40

@TheHoundsofLove by standing on special metabolic scales. It also measured lots of other things like fat %, visceral fat, muscle mass.. Really interesting.

Patchworksack · 06/02/2020 14:53

My metabolic age is about 105 today! I'd love to try that wine I have tried various online body fat calculators and they differ by up to 10% - one said I was obese cheekybugger which seems unlikely with BMI of 23ish.

Heygirlheyboy · 06/02/2020 14:58

Brilliant wine! I'd love to stand on one of those!!

TheHoundsofLove · 06/02/2020 15:08

Hey So would I - sounds awesome!

Wineloffa · 06/02/2020 15:56

Maybe your GP would have one? Could you book a health check with your local surgery?

Heygirlheyboy · 06/02/2020 16:56

Some pharmacies made them available, v short term, during operation transformation (Irish programme) last year but haven't heard anything this year. Would definitely be interesting.

Octopus37 · 06/02/2020 17:25

When I joined a gym a couple of years ago, I was told that my metabolic ae was 39, was 43 at the time. Think my body fat was quite high, 31%. Todays food:
Usual breakfast (315)
Lunch - Seeded bread + babybel (302)
1 lindor dark chocolate ball (75)
Twirl bar (230)
Up to 922 calories, making chicken chow mein for dinner
Still no email, so have got to phone them back when we've eaten

Wineloffa · 06/02/2020 17:41

@Heygirlheyboy I got a whole list of statistics and measurements, it’s fascinating and well worth doing. Unfortunately my cholesterol is 5.8. I was expecting it to be raised as it runs in my family. I even said it to the nurse before she pricked my finger. Given how carefully I eat these days, I might have to look at drastic measures to get it down like cutting out all dairy and red meat. Good bye cheese sobs
