A few days rest will not turn around what you’ve achieved. When I was able to go to the gym/jog/do weights I lived in a constant cycle of guilt when I’d miss a day, I didn’t let myself recover. I’m honestly not much worse off than I was, except now I have disc issues probably caused by not minding myself properly, can’t pour from an empty cup.

Oh aye. I can live with a couple of lb and a bit of flab where I've not done weight training.

northender · 04/04/2020 14:56

Down 0.5 pounds in the week. I would've preferred more, but am okay with that. Have been keeping up with the exercise & some yoga too but steps haven't been great.
I'd definitely mix in some white flour with wholemeal for bread. Another tip is to use potato cooking water as it is rich in VitC and helps make a lighter wholemeal loaf.

northender · 04/04/2020 14:58

You've got to let your body recover life and you'll soon get back into the exercise. Take care.

Happierwithouthim · 04/04/2020 15:02

Thinking my next fridge freezer won't be quite big enough either so might be putting an extra freezer outside in the shed. Will see!

The recipe from brown bread is from hotel that we drink in but contains sultanas soaked in tea, I'm not including the sultanas but will use tea alright. It does have some white flour too. I've it all weighed out & will bake it when I go home.!

Scales has dropped again but I'll still see half a lb gain this week, I've straightened out my eating too.

Not2bObvious · 04/04/2020 16:33

I’d highly recommend an extra freezer, I inherited mine & it’s a treasure, esp now. I am totally zonked, over 18,000 steps. Had a little nana nap

I'm feeling a bit better thank you, Not.
Life, lots of rest for you, take it easy.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/04/2020 18:26

I have 2 three drawer freezers and could do with another at the minute. Never have too much freezer space imo.

Dh appears to have had a relapse.

northender · 04/04/2020 18:57

We've got a small freezer (2 shelves) in with the fridge & then a big chest freezer in the garage which is fab. We bought it 24 years ago (second hand) and it's still going strong!

Happierwithouthim · 04/04/2020 20:06

I had a side by side American style fridge freezer so freezer had 8 drawers.

Currently have 60cm wide freezer with 2.5 drawers so they're probably 45cm wide.
My next one has 3 drawers 148L of space which is apparently the same as 8 shopping bags. I'll wait & see if it's enough. Fridge part is definitely bigger Grin

I remember having a small chest freezer in shed & stuff just not being used in it.

Happierwithouthim · 04/04/2020 20:08

In other news I decided to put on my new size down M&S jeans to check if they still fit after week of no tracking & baking but lots of walking & they do Grin

Not2bObvious · 04/04/2020 22:15

Nsv happier, small gain is a maintain in my book

Hope your dh is ok life

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/04/2020 07:04

Great. Nsv their happier. ..

He's back to how he was last weekend, not great.
I feel marginally better. No weight though and are a whole big bar of chocolate yesterday. Which was a waste as I couldn't taste it.

Not2bObvious · 05/04/2020 09:32

Sts this morning, average down 1.4 from last Sunday. Lazy day needed, going to have breakfast in bed

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 05/04/2020 13:51

Up half to 162 again Angry but it's a win for not tracking & being around food all day long Grin

Not2bObvious · 05/04/2020 19:44

That’s really good happier
I’ve averaged 1900 calories a day, target is 1800. Should be loads but weekends just trip me up. Ah sure, that’ll be something else to try harder with this coming week.

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 06/04/2020 07:59

Well I had a big spike this morning, if I were Mondays I’d have gained .4 on last Monday. Didn’t go mad yesterday, not sure what caused it but can’t let 20 seconds of a day ruin the rest of it. Up at 6 and did a walkie talkie plus the remains of another, emptied DW and put a wash on. Just over 7,500 so far.
Easter week, I’ve a small egg - still 585 cals

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 06/04/2020 18:24

I haven't gone for a walk yet but still 6600 steps I'm just more active when I'm at home. Scales fluxed up too but i has takeaway last night so understandable carbs overload cost €10 and wasn't that great Sad

Not2bObvious · 06/04/2020 20:32

Decent steps with no walk. Disappointing about the takeaway

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 07/04/2020 07:59

Another early walkie talkie - 8,000 done so far. Scales dropped the 2.2, though I have getting a 2.8 drop but on second & third check nope. Not to worry, that’s good for a Tuesday, .8 down on last Tuesday.
I’m hoping everyone is ok and the quiet isn’t people being poorly

OP posts:
CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 07/04/2020 15:44

Hi, sorry I dipped out again, still a bit poorly, so just trying to take it easy.
I weighed today and I've lost another lb.
I did some dancing with my dd earlier and it wore me out, but we laughed a lot!

Well done not, keep doing whatever it is your doing, it seems to be working for you!

Happierwithouthim · 07/04/2020 16:38

14405 steps yesterday & scales said 162.2 this morning.

Curvy did you get sorted with dd's medication?

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 07/04/2020 18:59

Great steps Happier. Yes there is no shortages at present, so that is good.
Thank you for asking x

Not2bObvious · 07/04/2020 19:05

That’s brilliant curvy, are you still following SW? Sorry you’re still feeling a bit off. Glad there’s no shortages on your daughters meds
Gorgeous day here, found a new place to walk that isn’t too overrun and within the 2km limit. Between that and walkie talkie this morning, I’ve nearly 20,000 - conked our for 2 hours this afternoon, needed to switch off for a bit. Can’t believe it’s nearly 4 weeks since we pretty much shut down
Great steps happier, it’ll all pay off by Sunday’s average.

OP posts:
CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 07/04/2020 21:13

Not epic steps there Star
Yes, we are now doing virtual groups and they have doubled the amount of free weeks I have left, which is fine by me!
I must admit, I've found it difficult being at home, I keep opening the fridge!
And I think I only lost that lb because for a few days I didn't really eat.

Even though I know food optimising might work for a lot of people on it's own, I need to move and eat well for the weight to go.
Thank you for the kind messages for my dd.
I'm hoping to take both dc for a walk or bike ride on Friday, think it will be better to do that during the week.

My steps for today, 6353, which I guess isn't too bad.
I will be home for the Easter break for 2 weeks then will be back at work on a rota. I think if they ask for extra people to go in, I will and I can take dd with me, at least she will get some exercise running around the huge space we have at work.
Their dad will look after them mostly though.
