Happierwithouthim · 21/03/2020 18:06

Have chilli in slow cooker cannellini beans instead of kidney Grin

Not2bObvious · 21/03/2020 18:15

Nice walk happier, sounds like your location is perfect for social isolation. Your ex sounds like a charmer eh? No surprise he’s an ex. Great weigh in too, 150’s are a creeping closer.
On the wine, mightn’t stop at half a glass though, unless it’s a pint glass😬

He's still a twat happier

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/03/2020 19:59

I really need to do something. I've dug out DH weight bar but need to buy clips. I've joined Les mills on demand with a blue light discount. Also my gym have done video classes so will get up and do one first thing

Wolfcub · 21/03/2020 20:37

My Pilates class has also moved online. I'm actually hoping it means I get to do more than one session a week

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/03/2020 07:02

I'm going to go a home workout this morning

Not2bObvious · 22/03/2020 07:37

Too much salty food yesterday & a flux of 1.6, I won’t be recording that. Think I’ll leave my next weigh in to Tuesday, maybe stick to 3 a week?
Happy Mother’s Day all, I found my old card from last year & asked the kids to draw me a picture & add a new message. I’m saved from a box of chocolates so lots to be thankful for today

Morning all its been mad hasn't it!
I had to go out yesterday to do a full shop and luckily managed to get mostly everything. Lidl was the best stocked place.

Wolfcub · 22/03/2020 09:43

Up a tiny bit

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/03/2020 10:33

Weight 11s12lbs, so slowly coming down

Not2bObvious · 22/03/2020 11:48

Well done curvy, last time you mentioned weight weren’t you 12’something? Great to get into a new stone bracket, whatever you’re doing keep it up.
I’m being quite lazy, watching old episodes of secret eaters & supersize vs super skinny. I’ll go for a walk today at some point but for now I’m relaxing

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/03/2020 12:46

Thanks Not. Yeah I was. SW has obviously been cancelled and I haven't weighed since last Tuesday, at SW, and was 12s2lb.
Will just have to see on Tuesday night. Our consultant is keeping in touch and head office at SW are trying to find a way to do virtual sessions. But we will all tell him our weight on Tuesday night.

I'm just trying to eat well, SW do a thing called 'food optimising' and I found the lack of bread difficult at first, but its getting better now.
Have been walking loads though.
I will still be going to work because I'm an early years educator, so we will be open for the key workers and our vulnerable families.
We are in a very deprived area and lots of our families are at risk.
I'm also stressed about it all!
Plus got told that my dds epilepsy medication may have trouble getting to the UK, but had a conversation with her nurse and at the moment they say not to worry!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/03/2020 12:46

Ahh sorry, that turned in an essay!

Not2bObvious · 22/03/2020 13:15

Don’t apologise!
Nice to virtually hear someone else speak. I’d imagine SW would work pretty well with you being a vegan? You are allowed a certain amount of bread aren’t you, but only like 2 slices brown as a healthy extra - or at least that was my recollection of one of the rules. At around 100 cals a slice, cutting back would definitely help reduce calories.
I’m not surprised you’re stressed, between the work aspect & esp your daughters situation. Hats off to you - I’m sure your efforts are really appreciated.
All I keep thinking is let’s just get through each day doing our best. It’s such a challenging time but I suppose we should control what we can and since we all want to lose or maintain weight that means working hard not to eat or drink our feelings. Sure as hell never solved anything before, sure as hell won’t solve anything now.
Phew bit of a blather there!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/03/2020 14:04

Thanks Not, just trying to do what we can to help.
We will be on a shift pattern, but will know more tomorrow when we have numbers. My nursery will also become a food distribution centre for our most vulnerable families, some of them have no access to public recourse, so the hope is to give them a hot meal to take home.

Yes just two bits of bread! Being vegan has helped, but I wish a certain amount of nuts and seeds were considered a 'free food', because the meat/veggie eaters can have as many eggs as they want, sometimes the balance doesn't seem very fair.
But all in all it seems to be going ok.

Yes you are right, control want you can, distance yourself from others as much as you possible.
My neighbour is a critical care nurse and she is begging everyone to listen to the advice, people are dieing everyday and she also said that it is awful to watch. She will never forget the fear in their eyes.

How are things were you are? You and happier are in ROI??

Not2bObvious · 22/03/2020 16:11

We don’t have schools or childcare open at all so all kids home. Most companies are instructing staff to work from home, bars closed since Monday I think? Gosh I’m not sure now, the days are running into each other. Can’t be near elderly parent due to advice or other family with serious condition so on our own. I’m the only one venturing out as I walk every day, lots not really getting social distancing so spent today’s walk in the mud practically as couples & families ambled all over the place. First day queuing in supermarket, more to do with social distance than volume. Trying to use self service as I want to try use some of my cash, have to use card as much as possible. I dunno, it’s a bit like calm before the storm. Trying not to let it get in my head too much.
I see what you mean about the eggs vs nuts for you but nuts are expensive in the calorie stakes, you get about 10gr of nuts vs an egg. 10gr wouldn’t fill a sparrow. What about beans? Or replace the same calorie amount that say a chicken breast would be for the same amount of nuts? So like 30gr?

OP posts:
CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/03/2020 16:44

Exactly Not, I think it's the calm before the storm too. I know, I really missed my mum today, was just going to surprise her and turn up, she is 60 this year, but is asthmatic and has scarring on her lungs from having pneumonia years ago.
Yes using card here too, many shops are not accepting cash.

Yes I guess the nuts are! I can have a certain amount as a healthy extra.
I eat beans, but they can get boring! That's a good idea about swapping the chicken though.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/03/2020 17:30

Thanks curvy. I did a body attack and got the weights from spider corner in the garage. Ordered new clips.
Went for a walk too so done 10k steps.
Food wise ok ish.
Must start tracking again from tomorrow

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/03/2020 17:35

Well done on the sub 12 stone curvy.
Sounds like you are doing great around all the stresses and uncertainty.

You too not.

Some of the frugaleers have a Skype thread running if you want to join. Video not mandatory

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/03/2020 21:14

Thanks Life

Not2bObvious · 23/03/2020 07:43

Deliberately sabotaged weighing in by necking a large glass of water, needs must after another salty day yesterday & I am trying to limit scales.
Sounds like a great days work life, I did a gentle jog for 30 minutes yesterday. So far no I’ll affect. Had joined a squat challenge group too and have the aches to prove it. Awake on & off since 4am, must get up soon for work.

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 23/03/2020 12:35

My sister does a motivational email weekly, if anyone wants to be added to the list just pm me your email address and I'll pass them on to her.

Or pm me and I'll give you her instagram account and you can go from there yourselves.

not mentioning squats reminded me of it because she suggested this week, every time you go to the toilet doing 3 squats afterwards Grin of course I've yet to start Grin

My step goal for 2020 was average of 8k per day, I'd let it slide a bit and last week I got 62665.

Sts on the scales but I expect I'll reap the reward of the steps this week.

I'm not tracking so I need to get that under control. Need to plan out my dinner before evening so that I can track it properly. I'm eating healthily though and portion size is good but it's just not recorded

curvy that's great getting under the 12st, these markers mean a lot!

Hoping I can get under 160 soon, and then 154!

life twat is rather more polite than what I've been calling him in my mind and to my friend and bf, he came Sat night to drop off dc and back to paying 50% and wants me to fill the paperwork for divorce as soon as we're eligible then, wonder what his hurry is GrinHmm

Not2bObvious · 23/03/2020 14:06

Sounds like you’re doing great with steps & food happier, it is good to have it recorded but once you’re dropping/sts then you’re clearly on the right path.
I jogged 2 x 20 mins this morning, as in jogged to a place, stopped for a few minutes to do something, then jogged back. Between that & another short walk to the bottle bank, I’ve nearly 10,000 done. I hope to get another 2,000 at least, but ideally 5,000. Busy morning but quietened down now so I’m taking a little siesta

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 23/03/2020 14:30

Sounds like a lovely way to get jobs done, jog between them!

It's a beautiful day here and I've my dinner done for this evening so will make the most of walking through my child free hours.
