Happy New Year! Here we are! Not just a brand new year but a brand new decade. New decades always feel that bit more significant and life enhancing.

I, like many others, would love to embrace the Twenty Twenties feeling more svelte, toned, healthier & happier. A massive part of that is underpinned by what we eat, when we eat it and why? In turn, how we feel mentally underpins our eating habits. Eating feelings, celebratory meals out, food rewards etc. By being balanced and mindful around food will help us all stay on track.

I know that if I don’t keep on it by setting goals, logging, calorie counting, utilising time restricted eating, and eating a mostly Mediterranean style diet I would gain month on month. Diet and weight loss isn’t a one size fits all. There are so many enjoyable options. Personally If I eat a carb heavy diet I hold not only extra weight but also carry water. My whole silhouette blobs out. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by walking & swimming.

I’m petite in statue, have an under active thyroid (medicated) and every bit of extra weight shows. Previously I allowed myself to get obese but since dropping 20+ lbs I’m no longer in that category. I’m still working on getting my BMI into the ‘normal’ category and this is one of my goals for 2020.

The previous threads have proved wonderfully supportive and inspiring The ladies on these threads have been awesome and shared some great achievements!

Hi all, I've gone rogue and had a bacon baguette for tea and a kit kat to follow and it didn't even taste nice! Feel lethargic! Hmmm. New day tomorrow and must control the stress=eat response.

Brain a bit fried. Will be back tomorrow to weigh in x

RunningNinja79 · 14/01/2020 21:13

I like egg whites or mixed (say scrambled etc) just not the yolk on its own, but Im a bit nervous about taking eggs to work because of the smell

Think it may be time to think about what I'm eating too. I've got the timing sorted. I was just hoping by IF I could start to lose a bit first.

I dont eat and eat and eat. Just try to eat mindfully during a window of 8 hours.

SunshineCake · 14/01/2020 21:19

Well done twinkledag.

Never mind Mrs JonesandMe, tomorrow is another day. I've had 10 squares of dairy milk. First in ages.

I roasted a chicken but the bag melted all over it. I peeled off the plastic and tasted some of the chicken and shared some with the dog. Tasted all right but dh came home and said we couldn't eat it so we had ready cooked mackerel and mash, roast potatoes and home made wedges to cater for everyone potato choices plus three lots of veg. Dh went out and bought another chicken and this time I will slow cook it with garlic and butter.

SheepSocks · 14/01/2020 21:24

I'm worried that I'm not eating enough. I've been eating 1200cals a day. Apart from when I'm exercising I am freezing, I'm hungry all the time.

Sometimes they hunger staves off about an hour after eating.

Would not eating enough be a reason for slow weight loss? I've gone from virtually no exercise to going to the gym at least three times a week.

My food today -

Weetabix made with warm water
Homemade potato and leek soup
Boiled egg
Apple
One of Joe wicks lean in 15 meals all weighed out
Banana

Exercise - hour at the gym, including 15 mins on exercise bike, distance covered 5km. 15 mins on the treadmill, 15 mins on the rowing machine, and 15 mins doing a circuit of sit ups and working on my legs.

Foreverlexicon · 15/01/2020 06:23

Yesterday was not a good day at all in terms of healthy food in the end but think I was fine on calories.
I ran out of time for lunch before work so grabbed a pack of chocolate and caramel hot cross buns then didn’t get a chance to eat a proper dinner at work so basically had a bowl of cereal, a banana, 3 hot cross buns and some cheese and crackers all day. Typical days food for someone in the services!

Intend to eat properly today. Going onto nights so going to ride the horse this morning, go for a run or do an exercise dvd then have a good nap!

ilovetrees30 · 15/01/2020 06:51

Well surprisingly ive lost 1 and a quarter pounds this week. More than I thought I would as my weekend diet wasnt great. Hoping next week will be a good one. Overall ive lost 4.5lb since jan 1st.

ilovetrees30 · 15/01/2020 06:53

Oops i cant do maths ive only lost half a lb so 3.5 lb off 🙈

NorthernPowermouse · 15/01/2020 07:26

I think my scales are broken...I’ve just weighed in at 10st 7 which would mean I’ve lost A STONE in two days Shock. Obviously I haven’t so I’ll have to weigh again tomorrow and see if I get a more reasonable result.

Stuck to my window again yesterday and went to Pilates but did succumb to some chocolates that had been brought into work. Still within my calories though so hopefully not too much damage done.

No idea what I’m eating today yet. Need to check out the fridge. Have a good day everyone and good luck with your WWs!

SunshineCake · 15/01/2020 07:47

Claim and enjoy it for now @Northern.

I'm in ShockI am down again. 1.2 lb off since yesterday, 3.2 lbs in a week and 4.6lbs since January and since I started doing IF. I also seem to be having my period if not random bleeding. What is going on?

BustedDreams · 15/01/2020 08:56

Good Morning All

WW day .... drum rolling please ... total loss for January is .... 0.1lb. You read that right. However, TMI, I’ve not been to loo yet today. Started the year at 145, last week a low of 143.4 then find I’m 144.9 today. Not massively yoyoing but a true loss would have been appreciated. All this tells me is if I wasn’t cal counting, tracking, being mindful etc I would be much heavier. Conversely this result motivates me to keep on it! Because if I don’t eat the way I do Id definitely be gaining week on week.

@twinkledag congrats! 👍

@MrsJonesAndMe don’t beat yourself. I hope you enjoyed it!

@RunningNinja79 I get the odour in the office thing ... I used to share a windowless office with someone who ate tinned fish. Boy did that pong!

@SunshineCake I’ve heard that roasting bags can do that! Talking of which I’ve got a roast in the bag chicken coming today ... it came up on offer at online shop checkout. Great loss by the way 🌟

@SheepSocks that’s doesn’t sound good lovie. If you’re dressed right, environment warm, you shouldn’t be feeling chilly. Are you feeling ill in general or do you feel it’s because you’ve gone o low on cals for your needs? Have a hearty meal and see how you feel. Eating healthier should not be making you feel ill. Reading your food list there doesn’t seem to be much fat. We need fat. Olive oil, avocados, butter. Perhaps up your fats. Hope you’re ok!

@Foreverlexicon seems you are doing your best under difficult circumstances. Hope you have a good shift.

@ilovetrees30 3.5lbs is a great loss. Well done!

@NorthernPowermouse may I borrow your scales ... mine appear broken Grin

Wishing you all a great WW result! If it’s not what you were hoping for ... that’s extra incentive to keep on it Grin

Morning all. I've lost another 2lbs, taking me to 6lbs for January so far. 👍🏻 I'm hoping for the same result again next week which will take me into a new stone bracket. I am finding it frustrating though, re-losing the weight I lost with you all in the summer. I want to skip this part and get to the part where I see new numbers again! 😂 I've even bought some padded shorts in the hope that I can then manage longer on the bike which should have a positive impact on the results at least!

I'm also off to a gong bath tonight for a healing meditation. I'm really looking forward to it.

Have a great day everyone.

SheepSocks · 15/01/2020 09:06

@BustedDreams, I am on antibiotics for an ear at the moment. Maybe that would explain the chills? I will follow your advice and have an avocado with my lunch today.

I've never paid this much attention to my diet so I am learning all the time.

@NorthernPowerMouse - I wouldn't mind testing your scales 😂

annabell22 · 15/01/2020 09:14

Well done losers Smile

800g down for me, so a lot better than the 100g lost in week 1. I've worked out that it's just over 11 weeks until my birthday so a pound a week on average means an 11lb/5kg loss by then and I'd be delighted with that, so I don't care if it's not falling off me rapidly.

FearlessSwiftie · 15/01/2020 09:27

Hey guys :) You are doing great, hope Ill ever be this motivated like many of you here. Now Im just making up excuses and reasons why I totally need that adorable Kitkat Grin. But I have my workouts planned, I used a special calendar maker to create a wall calendar with all my workout days highlighted. Sometimes I try to skip but the schedule that I see everyday doesn`t let me Grin. Need to work on my diet, too...

Galvantula · 15/01/2020 10:46

Hi all.

Going ok food wise here, dipped back below 59kg again.

Not feeling so chatty at the moment though. We have had a sudden bereavement at work, we all just can't stop thinking of the family left behind and the fact they are just gone and won't be back. They were younger than me and married with a young family left behind. :( It's so awful.

Skyejuly · 15/01/2020 10:52

I'm down 3lbs now. Still not under the 10st though which I am desperate to see. I seem to get to 10st 2/3 and stay there!

MrsJonesAndMe · 15/01/2020 12:35

Hi all

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm down with man flu Wink Probably explains it! WW = maintain, so that's where I want to be.

Episode 2 of Jason Fung done. Interesting things about refined food and diet drinks in there.

Amazing losses to see here, well done all of you Star

@Galvantula I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your colleague. It makes you take stock doesn't it? Sending you a (((hug))) and some Flowers

SunshineCake · 15/01/2020 13:24

Sorry to hear that @Galvantula.Flowers My friend lost her nephew recently and I think he was only 40 but young children Sad. A relative also had a heart attack last month so that has scared dh and I.

fallfallfall · 15/01/2020 16:57

That’s very sad galvantula Flowers
DH and I have been listening to the Jason Fung videos together...onto episode 4.
Weight...down 1.4 for the month. And on the verge of seeing a new low! So 150.1-4-6 all seen this week. Waiting patiently for 149.

2020newme · 15/01/2020 17:14

Wow

Starting Weight 12:9
Week 1 12:4 Loss 5lbs
Week 2 12:2 Loss 2lbs
Total Loss 7lbs

Really happy with that as I had cake and also I have not been, erm, regular Blush

I don't think the turmeric tea was to blame for headache as I have another one now and no tea today. I will check the batteries in my carbon monoxide detector but it's probably just change of diet and lack of my regular alcohol intake Grin

Keep going losers!

Foreverlexicon · 15/01/2020 18:29

I’ve been slipping a bit. This tends to happen after a few good days so going to be firm and tighten the net.

Going to make a really yummy healthy meal plan for my next set as well to entice me to keep it up. About to go for a run then on to a nightshift and I went for over an hours ride this morning.

riotlady · 15/01/2020 19:08

Hi all :) apologies for being largely absent the past couple of weeks, I’ve been relentlessly ill with a cold turned sinus + ear infection. Haven’t lost any weight and feel miserable to boot!

SunshineCake · 15/01/2020 19:49

Hope you feel better soon, @riotlady.

Good luck with your planning @Foreverlexicon.

MinnieLatte · 15/01/2020 21:43

Sorry I've been AWOL for a while, i hadn't had time to properly read the thread for a few days so sat down tonight with decaf tea & had a proper catch up!

It sounds like everyone is doing so well- & that's motivating for me, I need to know other people are sticking to their guns and having willpower!

I'm weighing myself on a Thursday so will update tomorrow. Gym is going well, food is also going well but I did have a jacket potato for tea last night as meal plan went wrong!

I'm feeling quite a change happening to me...I think I'm developing some willpower! There's been doughnuts and a huge tin of Quality Street in the staff room this week and I honestly haven't been tempted, even when I was so busy and stressed

But even more impressive is my willpower late afternoon early evening when I used to grab anything I could lay my hands on and stuff it in my mouth, I seem to be getting over that, no idea how's but it's definitely lessening.

Thanks for the support ladies!
