Anyone with 5 stone + to lose in 2020?

This has to be the year it happens. I can’t keep calling it baby weight - he’ll be 3 this year! I’m sick of avoiding being in photos with my DS, and not being able to run round after him. Anyone else?

Me! Would like to lose 5 stones, and get fitter. Already lost a stone, but have relaxed over Christmas. Not put any weight on though. I want to do this for my health first and foremost.

LittleSweet · 26/12/2019 21:30

Just marking my place!

IndecentFeminist · 26/12/2019 21:35

Me! I'd like to lose 4-5 stone by next yr, turn 40 looking more like myself. I had been thinking about doing a vlcd/meal replacement type to get down a bit and then maintaining. I find the drudge and moderation of dieting hard, but maintaining easier.

Sulkypatsy · 26/12/2019 21:41

I have to lose 2, would like 2.5 if possible, lost a stone this year. I'm mainly working on portion control, whole food meals, and intermittent fasting. Hoping the recent adjustment in thyroid meds will help too! Best of luck everyone 💪
I'd also love to start some weight training, I just never seen to find the right time to start

lotstoloose2020 · 26/12/2019 21:51

Me. I have about 9 stone to shed. 🙁

I will be counting macros, getting more active and getting back on track with exercise.

Aardvarkitsabloodyaardvark · 26/12/2019 21:54

Me too! I'd like to lose at least 5 stone in 2020.

Dasbouncemachine · 26/12/2019 22:05

Yes me! Place marking for tomorrow

cuddles37 · 27/12/2019 01:49

I am 5ft 6in and weigh 16 stone 9 pounds. Ideally need at least 5 stone off. I would love to join all of you ladies for moral support☺

justinhawkinsnavalfluff · 27/12/2019 02:01

Ok me too. 6 stone to lose even 3 would be a relief!

OldPodge · 27/12/2019 02:09

I’ve been really terrified of the scales for years, so don’t know exactly how much I weigh. The GP usually makes me get on the scales and advises me to lose weight when I go. Think am about 14 stone would be happier with 11 stone. Struggle with my knees and hips and it will only get worse with my age.

HerRoyalFattyness · 27/12/2019 04:29

Anyone have any ideas as to how their going to start?
(I'm up. My meds clearly aren't working so I've not yet been to sleep and my mind is not shitting off)

I'm going to start walking down the road to the next bus stop. It doesn't sound much, but it's an extra 2000 steps there.
I'm also going to cut out fizzy drinks and stop snacking.

FenellaMaxwell · 27/12/2019 07:32

Amazing - I have company! Hurrah!!! We can DO THIS. Ok, I’m also going to low carb and do C25k. I did this once before and lost 12 stone, about 10 years ago. A few stone crept back on once my weight settled and then I’ve gained 5-6 since getting pregnant, and I’ve been awful at ignoring it because “at least I still don’t weigh as much as I used to”.

I’m a size 20 now, aiming for a size 16 by Easter, then a 14 by summer and a 12 by next Christmas.

Let’s all try and change one small thing a day between now and the new year, to get us “in the mood” for weight loss, whether that’s switching to skim milk, halving the sugar in your coffee, taking the stairs instead of the lift - we have 5 days to start making changes before 1st Jan.

Wow 12 stone is an incredible weight loss OP, there are statistics flying about that most people who lose weight put it back on; but 2020 let's do what we can to prove them wrong! I'm tempted by the 18/6, as long as the times are flexible as DS has dinner at 6pm and that would be my last meal (after dinner snacking is a trigger for me so keen to avoid it and make sure I eat before I'm ravenous!). I enjoy healthy meals, but also unhealthy snacks which is the issue, so I'm thinking I need more complex carbs and perhaps protein in meals so that I'm staying fuller but not just because I'm loading my plate with loads of calories.

FenellaMaxwell · 27/12/2019 08:37

I did keep it off for 8 years so I’m galvanised to do it again for good!

I'm aiming for 7 stone minimum this year. I don't want another fat Christmas! I'm planning to do the fast 800 diet as it really works for me but I also need to increase my activity but not sure what to do. I really don't enjoy running as my knees are dodgy and there's no swimming pool nearby but I'm aiming to go for a walk everyday after 1st Jan, no matter the weather or if I'm tired. Feeling motivated but I have just had yule log and cream for breakfast Blush

ProngstheStag · 27/12/2019 08:45

I need to lose 7 stone but it all feels so hopeless. I'm chronically ill and can't move around and I have some serious food issues that go hand in hand with my diagnosed anxiety disorder. I honestly don't know how to even begin. I can't fast either, as I have a bowel condition that needs me to eat little and often.

IndianaMoleWoman · 27/12/2019 08:47

Me!

I need to lose 6.5 in total. I’ve done it before but piled it all back on.

I’m starting on 4th January with a VLCD for 12 weeks to blast off the first 4 stone then going to do diet and exercise for the remaining 2.5 which will hopefully be off by summer.

It’s not the losing I’m concerned about once I get started, it’s keeping it off that’s my big mental block. I end up putting a few pounds back on, the I want loads because “I’m going back on diet on Monday”, then inevitably the Monday never comes and it’s 2 years later and I’ve sleepwalked back to square one.

Good luck everyone! We can do it!

LaursB · 27/12/2019 09:22

I have 5 to lose! (When I say 3 it sounds more achievable though) so I'm thinking 3 stone at first and then tackle the other two...
(I know that makes no sense but it makes me feel betterSmile)

Anyone want to make a WhatsApp group to support one another, laugh/ cry together?
I need some moral support. Xxx

IndecentFeminist · 27/12/2019 09:24

I can WhatsApp 🤔

IslaMann · 27/12/2019 09:41

I'm happy to WhatsApp.
I'm currently a slimming world member and it seems to suit me but I do need to start exercising. Considering the c25k but scared I won't even be able to manage day 1.

christmasstress · 27/12/2019 10:06

@IslaMann the C25K starts off very gently, and if you can't manage a week then just repeat it. It is hard, but great fun too and it's incredible how quickly you improve.

christmasstress · 27/12/2019 10:07

I'll WhatsApp @LaursB

HerRoyalFattyness · 27/12/2019 10:27

I'm happy to WhatsApp too.

Citygirl2019 · 27/12/2019 11:03

Yep I've got at least 5 stone to lose. Gained a stone since mid September!!

I'm a classic comfort eater, bereavement and family stresses resulted in the most resent additional weight gain.

I need to find a solution to manage my emotions that doesn't include food. If I don't do this I'm going to constantly yo yo-ing. Which I've done all my adult life.
