Got back from hols last Saturday and promised I would start weight lose on Monday. Got into work on Tuesday to find a large tin of biscuits on the desk. Not good. Thought I would try Mumsnet for moral support and found out everyone started without me.
I'm 44 years (Jane Fonda where are you now!) 12 stones 5'6 and need to join in with others to lose the flab. Have 3 year old and work part-time 3 days a week, in a Yukky job. Anyone want to join me?
What get advice on losing weight mainly using exrcise as I really love my food
With a little support I might be able to diet too.

I'm okay, thank you for asking, Kidrus. I hope everything will work out well for you

Fimbles5 · 20/05/2008 07:23

I'm still here too. Watching your success with interest. Still struggling I'm afraid. I plan to go to my weekly weigh in meeting on Thursday evening (I haven't been since Easter)!! Am absolutely dreading it as I know I have put on loads of weight, but I have decided it is the best thing to do, in the hope it will kick start me back into action. Went shopping on Saturday, and bought loads of new clothes with some birthday money and felt absolutely fab, so that made me feel much better, but still need to get into smaller size. Good to here you are all well, and remember I am always lurking if you need me.

fedda · 20/05/2008 23:23

Yes, Fimbles. It's really nice to hear from you. Please, do post when you can. I'm glad you have sone new clothes. My mum had a realy go at me today as I stopped bying my new clothes for some time now in spite of my advice to have it as a treat. Well, i keep hoping I'll be slimmer so I'm waiting and I don't fancy getting an outfit in the hope it will fit me some time. Anyway, I'm trying to eat sensibly although from time to time I slip into coffee shop mode with caramel latte with chocolate and vanilla on top s you can imagine how I'm doing. Summer is approaching and we all need to try to fulfil our plans. let's support each other.

kidsrus · 21/05/2008 00:13

i bought some new clothes today fedda things i wouldn't normally buy hoping they might look good.
you need to feel good about yourself to help you lose more weight.
so buy those clothes they only last a few months anyway before you have to buy more then they will be smaller ones as the last season clothes will be too big and out of season anyway

Fimbles5 · 21/05/2008 08:09

Yes Fedda, I agree with kidsrus, please go and treat yourself to something new. I am nowhere near as slim as I would like to be, but I went shopping with a friend and like kidsrus she advised me to buy things I would never have bought had I been on my own. (Bright colours ) and today dressed in my new attire I feel big, but not frumpy so in a way quite good about myself (which is an improvement for me). If you understand what I am trying to say? I haven't explained it very well - I think what I am getting at is that we should all treat ourselves once in a while, it may help us to lift those spirits.
Kidsrus - What did you buy - Are you feeling fab??

fedda · 21/05/2008 12:02

Thank you, Kidrus and Fimbles. I know I need to treat myself to somethig nice.

kidsrus · 25/05/2008 14:00

I bought 2 tops and a pair of crop trousers(need to go back as too tight)wishful thinking

fedda · 27/05/2008 13:26

fedda · 27/05/2008 22:42

fedda · 28/05/2008 23:39

Kidrus, I've been on toasts the whole day and I had a chocolate bar so I think your dr has more chance to agree then mine - not that I'd ask anyway.

kidsrus · 28/05/2008 23:51

fedda · 29/05/2008 09:44

I think we'll start getting back to normal after the holidays. too many tempatations

Fimbles5 · 30/05/2008 13:54

Hi everyone - Well its confession time. Been away for a few days and stayed in hotel. Breakfast was bacon, sausage, eggs, croissants, bagels etc. - you name it, they had it and I ate it. As for evening meals, first night Bella Italia, Second night Pizza Hut and last night KFC on the way home. Thats not to mention sandwiches and cakes we had for lunch. As you can imagine feeling really glum today as have gained 4lbs in 3 days. So believe me even though you two have given in to temptation over the holidays you are still way better than me. Lets keep at it.

fedda · 30/05/2008 14:35

Hi, Fimbles. Well, sounds like you had a fabulous time so don't worry. Soon it will all go as you'll get back to normal. When I stay in the hotel, I usually avoid the whole fry up although I can't resist fried eggs and mushrooms but I have a lot of fruit salad, whole apple, died appricots and nuts and also orange juice. in spite of this and also using gym for 40 minutes and little swimming in pool I always gain weight because when breakfast is included I can't resist eating and eating. Sometimes I have poridge and fruit salad for breakfast but they give really big portions of poridge that I scoff all the same. Anyway, let's try to go back to normal as I think we all had a lot of extra suff and we need to follow our goals for the Summer. There is still time.

kidsrus · 31/05/2008 23:05

too true fedda! we have all fallen off the wagon and seem to every holiday.
why shouldn't we enjoy ourselves as much as the others!
Any way we have 7 weeks to our next pig out(looking foreward to it already

fedda · 31/05/2008 23:55

Summer must be different though - it's perfect time to drink more water and have more fresh salads, fruit and berries. Let's be hopeful.

kidsrus · 01/06/2008 00:15

of course all the cocktail parties on the patio and the ice creams in the park not forgeting the cream teas or strawberries and cream.yum!yum!
im going to starve myself as they are fantastic rewards for doing so well

fedda · 01/06/2008 11:50

No need to starve yourself, kidrus. I'vestarted having grated carrot for breakfast - good foo and 0 points. That's where fruit and veg comes handy as well nad don't forget soups, they can be cold in Summer. By the way, you can make fantastic lollies using fruit juice and strauberries could be wonderfully refreshing with 0% fat Greek yougurt and a drizzle of honey.Pack your picknick with a lot of apples, plums and grapes = wholemeal sandwiches and you are sorted. I'm good at giving advice, I wish I was strong to follow it myself.

Fimbles5 · 02/06/2008 08:05

Kidsrus & Fedda - Will you both please stop!!! I am drooling over my computer. You both have wonderful healthy food ideas - I wish you could come and prepare my meals for me. At least that way I could eat healthily. Where do you find all your inspiration?? Well, holiday over - Who plans to start again today? (How many times during this thread have I said that now?)

fedda · 02/06/2008 11:12

Fimbles, there is no need to worry - it's easy. I had 8 cherry tomatoes followed by some grapes for breakfast - you don't need anybody to prepare that for you, right? You are brilliant at making soups. You youself gave me a lot of inspiration. Yes, I'm starting today. Let's all start today, girls.
I went to the shop and I bought 2 papayas, a bag of carrots, organic wholemeal uncut loaf of bread, honey, grapes and I'm going to have healthy snacks and normal meals just with plenty of vegies. It's easy peasy. Fill up on berries and have tea with honey and lemon in it and grapes instead of biscuits and you'll be sorted. No need to deprive yourself, just enjoy your life with wholesome food. No tablets, no side effects, we can all do it. plenty of walks - leaveyour car at home and walk to schooland from school - you are sorted. And don't forget to

kidsrus · 02/06/2008 22:06

ok i had a good day starting with sugar puffs ham salad in a wrap with lowcal s/c followed by a slice of soreen
and for tea potato and veg soup followed by a slice of h/m rhubarb cake.
A few grapes here and there and now thinking of a satsuma how long will it take before i get up to get it?
2 coffees today with 1 sugar each
3 teas with none
1 glass of squash.
and a nice relaxing day with only dd to potty train.
she's getting the hang of it! she even trys to empty the potty saying Go girl! Go girl!

fedda · 03/06/2008 11:30

My day so far:
Breakfast - grated carrot
10 am - a slice of wholemeal toast with honey and tea with honey after which my tummy looks like a balloon!
Probably carrot and coriander soup for lunch and omelete with ham amd cheese for dinner, grapes for snacks. TeaS will be with honey and lemon, no coffee today.

fedda · 06/06/2008 07:53

I've spoiled my good days yesterday with sausages, 2 fools and mars bar. Must be more sensible today. How is everyone?

kidsrus · 07/06/2008 21:59
