Got back from hols last Saturday and promised I would start weight lose on Monday. Got into work on Tuesday to find a large tin of biscuits on the desk. Not good. Thought I would try Mumsnet for moral support and found out everyone started without me.
I'm 44 years (Jane Fonda where are you now!) 12 stones 5'6 and need to join in with others to lose the flab. Have 3 year old and work part-time 3 days a week, in a Yukky job. Anyone want to join me?
What get advice on losing weight mainly using exrcise as I really love my food
With a little support I might be able to diet too.

Yes, kidrus. I have some little chockes and a tiny Easter bunny dor my DS2 (e loves little soft toys and he doesn't know he is getting it. I can't wait to see his little face when he finds his little bunny). We have Easter eggs in the fridge already. I'm not bothered about eating them, it's just for kids. i hope the weather will be kind to us. It's easier to walk when the wind down't blow you out. Anyway, let's all hope Easter isn't going to ruin our weight loss and if we get a bit over the limit of chockies, there is still time before the summer. let's supporteach other, it helps a lot.

Hi everyone - How are we doing this week. Haven't been well for a couple of days now, have the bug that is going around, so haven't really eaten that much. Feel really grotty, but should be doing wonders for the weight loss. Kidsrus, I tried the pink and whites you were talking about, they are great for a sugar fix. Hope you all are well and keeping the healthy regime going.

Fimbles5 · 13/03/2008 21:43

Oh dear - It would appear you have all deserted me. Probably worried you will catch the bug!! Hope all is well with everybody. You can come back as feeling better today, and I need you all

fedda · 14/03/2008 21:27

Hi, fimles. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you. How are you feeling now? I wasn't well myself feeling sick and having some stomach upset which resulted in weight loss as when i could it, I wasn't feeling like so called propper food and I had tea with sugar and muffings to keep me going. Sounds weird, I know. Anyway, I'm a bit better now and I even had some normal dinner but I'll go back on sensible eating on Monday.

fedda · 14/03/2008 21:28

oh, fimbles, it was a mistake, I had weight gain, not weight loss (all these muffings). Sorry to disappoint you.

Fimbles5 · 14/03/2008 22:21

Fedda - Welcome back. I missed you. I so know how you feel, it seems to be one nasty bug which is doing the rounds. Glad to hear you are feeling better, and even more pleased to know that I hadn't lost everybody from the thread.

fedda · 14/03/2008 23:04

Thank you, Fimbles. I've missed you too. Do you feel better?

Success story alert I wanted to say a very big thankyou to you all on this thread. This is the first time I have used mumsnet for support to assist with my weightloss and without all of you I wouldn't have made this major breakthrough. Today I have made it to the 2stone lost mark. I am so much happier and confident in myself and it is because of all you. You have seen me through the highs and lows and the good and bad days. Please don't run away, I still have more to lose, but wanted to express my sincere thanks for your help and support so far. THANKYOU

fedda · 16/03/2008 17:39

Hi, Fimbles. Thank you so much for sharing with us your success. You've made my day. I'm so happy for you. I'm always here for you. Please, accept my sincere warmest congratulations. Keep up good work and you'll achieve what you want.

kidsrus · 19/03/2008 21:11

well done fimbles!

you will have to share your secrets of success with us.

thankyou for the encouragement and support you have given us also the inspiration.
we now know that it is possible if only we can put our minds to it.

i intend to buckle down after easter and up the exercise, perhaps even take up a posture class.
hope you all have a good easter (i might not get a chance to get near the computer over the weekend)

fedda · 19/03/2008 23:16

Thank you, kidrus. The same to you.
Fimbles, how are you? i hope you don't do what I have done after a successful weight loss - started to eat my way up to the weight gain. Please, try to resist. Try to keep up the good work

Fimbles5 · 20/03/2008 08:07

Thankyou kidsrus but Fedda you are so right. You obviously know me too well. Since my success post my willpower has gone totally out of the window I have and am eating anything and everything in sight. I have decided that even trying to maintain my current weight is going to be harder than losing it in the first place. I am dreading next week as children are on holidays and already the collection of easter eggs from family and friends is growing. My children seem to get so many (remind me why it was I taught them to share? )
Anyway, I hope you are all well and things are going better for you. Am of on holiday on Saturday to the lakes for a week, so will be eating loads, but will report back on my return. Hope you all have a fabulous, chocolatey Easter. Have Fun.

fedda · 20/03/2008 18:24

Enjoy your Easter, Fimbles, we'll go back on sensible eating ater it. Don't worry, we'll do it together Have a wonderful time in the lakes. It's a fantastic place to go. All the walks will help you with maintaining your weight.

fedda · 20/03/2008 21:26

Fimbles, I've just found this little article and I thought about you: www.bbc.co.uk/health/healthy_living/your_weight/reaching_maintain.shtml

Fimbles5 · 21/03/2008 14:19

Thankyou Fedda - An interesting article. I appreciate your support with this. At the moment munching through the Easter choccies and enjoying. Back to it on Tuesday.

fedda · 21/03/2008 21:35
