Strikeout fail!

WoollyFoolly · 17/11/2019 22:58

Do you mind me asking what is it that affects your lung function? Do you have asthma? I'm just being nosy though so feel free to ignore!
I've noticed a big improvement in my pelvic floor since losing weight, I'm staggered what a difference it seems to have made.

Good day today, a few hundred calories under my MFP limit and a good 17/18 hr fast last night/this morning. Plus I drank 2 or 3 big bottles of water (plus cups of tea).

Egghead68 · 18/11/2019 00:34

I have a COPD-like illness even though I’ve never smoked, caused by a virus a couple of years ago on top of genetic susceptibility. Losing weight reduces the inflammation in your body which is helpful. There is also new evidence that losing weight might mean less fat within the lung tissue itself, which may lead to better lung function.

On a separate note went 250 calories over today with a cheese straw. It was worth it!

DownUdderer · 18/11/2019 02:48

Hi everyone, I’ve got an improved pelvic floor too! I’ve shed two stone.

Hello new joiners.

I’ve had a good morning, I’ve had scrambled eggs on low GI toasted bread for lunch. And banana, yogurt and babybell for breakfast. I’ve been out hiking, managed 13k steps. I’m getting closer to a good bmi, I’m on 25.6 at the moment, which is overweight.

I had some carbs yesterday and sugary rubbish and I felt so crabby this morning! I’m so much happier staying clear. It effects my moods so much!

cricketmum84 · 18/11/2019 06:57

Morning lovelies! It's the start of a brand new week! I used ALL my weekly points up over the weekend so I'm going to have to be very restrained now until Saturday! Still 19 exactly but let's hope the new ww plan gives me a big old kicking! I would love the new and improved pelvic floor effect!!

Plan for today is:
Am - sugar free juice and a green tea
L - roasted veg frittata and coleslaw (0 points)
D - chickpea and spinach curry, brown rice and lentil bread (2 points)
Snacks - alpro yoghurt and blueberries, a banana, cheeky gin and slim tonight

Working from home today so going to get out for a 30 minute walk rather than sitting on my bum!

Have a lovely and successful Monday!

Good morning from the house of lurgy !
I have eaten too much because I feel too rough to cook properly.
I wanted to get to the gym over the weekend but failed miserably.

Pity party this way Blush

OrangeLola · 18/11/2019 07:15

Despite pigging out on Sunday lunch, I've lost a pound this week.
Just started 16-8 properly this week. The diet has helped me to focus on my eating habits (croissant with morning coffee). I've either had a salad for lunch or breakfast cereal with yoghurt, then eaten with the family in the evening. Keeping to lower calorie meals and not snacking.

OverByYer · 18/11/2019 07:23

Newbie joining.
I normally exercise a lot which helps keep my weight down but thanks to an injury and I think the start of menopause weight is creeping on.
I’m 11 stone 7, would love to get to under 11. Been a long time since I was

Egghead68 · 18/11/2019 08:02

69.0kg

B: 7 chocolates 350 (so sue me)
L: tofu stew 450
S: quark Fruit 400
D: something small 200ish
Body blast.

Happy Monday!!

7Worfs · 18/11/2019 08:15

Good morrow, friends!

Exactly 2kg down in November, hope to remain on track for another kg by end of month.

Fasting and diet are starting to suffer a little bit as I’m preoccupied with baby intro to solids and his nap times shifting, but I can do this! fist pumping

WoollyFoolly · 18/11/2019 08:15

Morning all! Hurray, I'm on 12.0 this morning! 2.5 stone lost so far and 0.5 stone to go to my target. I was on this weight 10 days ago though and bounced back up so will be making a concerted effort to push down into the 11s this time.

No breakfast, lunch is parsnip soup, tea/dinner (I'm a northerner living down south!) is beany chilli.

Onesmallstep67 · 18/11/2019 09:37

Happy Monday everyone.
things not changing here at all. In fact I am 2lbs up on my November start weight meaning that I have bobbled around losing and gaining the same 3lbs for 4 weeks. I am being weighed tomorrow at the doctors, at best will be about 2 lbs lighter than last time I went but that was almost 5 weeks ago. My TOTM still hasn't arrived so definitely the perimenopause messing with my system. I feel constantly like I want to eat even though usually I am not even hungry. And that is where the problem lies, giving in to thinking I've done well to shift 3 stone and that I will be back on track when this period finally arrives. I will mention it to the nurse tomorrow ( as my excuse Grin )

WoollyFoolly · 18/11/2019 10:45

Oh peri is the worst. I have varied between cycles every 2-3 weeks to 3-6 months! Can't wait for it to be over and done with, been going on 4-5 years already.

Jeds55 · 18/11/2019 11:26

Good morning all, hope your Mondays are going well
Hello new joiners
Lots of good weight loss happening across the board, very motivating
Very frustrated here, was very strict all week (apart from Sunday - prob are 2500 cal but ran 5 miles and active otherwise)
Total weight loss for last week a measley 0.4lb Hmm not quite sure what I could have done differently. Just so tempted to think fuck it may aswell eat normally then. I lost 4.5 lbs week before so trying to see it as spread over 2 weeks instead of 1 but still sucks. Onwards and upwards

Egghead68 · 18/11/2019 12:03

Stick at it @Jeds55.

Per-menopause and menopause are the total pits for weight gain (and QoL).

Well done everyone with losses!

Onesmallstep67 · 18/11/2019 12:33

WoollyFoolly and Egghead68, I couldn't agree more, such a strange and difficult time, at worst really impacting on anxiety levels and of course making some of the challenges of weight loss feel even more like hard work. I have just eaten a Galaxy ripple for no valid reason, guess it'll have to count as lunch !

beforeIhit30 · 18/11/2019 13:15

Very belated wave to @7Worfs!

Popping in briefly during our second busy week (family events), but very happy to report that I’ve lost 5lb so far this month! That’s a far better rate than October and so it’s likely to be more of a loss than I was expecting for November too, which is great.

Also there was a lot of soup talk last month, DH then wanted to buy a stick blender for other stuff he makes so we opted for quite a powerful one (I had a voucher Grin) and I’ve tried it for the first time today on some broccoli and cauliflower soup. I boiled about 500g of veg in a litre of liquid (water mixed with leftover homemade stock), then blitzed it. It was smooth in about 20 seconds Shock couldn’t believe it! And it’s tasty Smile added a bit of cream to it too. I think I’ll be drinking quite a bit of my veg now, and hoping my DCs will have some too.

A big mid-month (ish) cheer to everyone - keep on keeping on Smile

Egghead68 · 18/11/2019 17:32

Gone over my calories on ... sore throat sweets Sad Bloody hell - these things are 200cal a pack.

Ecci · 18/11/2019 19:32

@Tryingtwo Looking forward to reading your post when you get to under 200.

WoollyFoolly · 18/11/2019 19:50

Brilliant @beforeIhit30!
I couldn't live without our stick blender!
Didn't have time for soup at lunchtime today so just grabbed a protein shake and had Mexican chicken wraps with loooooads of extras for tea (guacamole, chipotle mayo, homemade coleslaw). So tasty. So many calories! Hoping that as it was my only actual food of the day that will balance it out.

Baguetteaboutit · 18/11/2019 20:17

200 calories on sore throat sweets? Shock
I don't think I'd have ever have thought to check tbh. In my head, I think I'd have filed it under medicine and imagined it was calorie free - like chips from other people's plates Grin

It's so cold here, apparently it might get as low a -5c tonight. It makes me want to hibernate with crumpets and lurpak. But managing to resist and stick with the lentil curry.

Tryingtwo · 18/11/2019 22:23

Hello all.
Thanks Ecci, when I get below 200lbs I won't need to post you will hear my celebrations!

I'm post menopausal I assume as I haven't had a period in about 2 years but apart from sporadic periods I was lucky to have no other symptons. The menopause might be partially to blame for my belly mountain but mainly it is due to a shockingly bad diet and a complete lack of exercise. I am concentrating on improving my attitude to food - both what I eat and the quantity. Exercise is something I plan to tackle in the new year.
I am slowly getting to grips with the idea that calorie counting has to be combined with what I eat ie if I have a couple of hundred calories to spare I should eat fruit/nuts/veg rather than chocolate/crisps even though the calories are the same. I know this isn't rocket science but for me it was a bit of a lightbulb moment Blush. I'm trying to change the pattern of yoyo dieting and altering the way I think and getting rid of ingrained habits such as always clearing my plate even if I am already full. Some days I am better at all of this than others Grin

cricketmum84 · 18/11/2019 22:47

@WoollyFoolly I made a vegan point free coleslaw today. It was gorgeous! It's just shredded white cabbage, grated carrot and finely sliced sweet pink onion mixed with alpro yoghurt, lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic and whole grain mustard.

onestone2go · 19/11/2019 00:58

That's interesting about less fat within lung tissue @Egghead68

I'm not really sure about the mechanics of it tbh. I have a rare lung disease, its not very active disease fortunately. Unlike me, I shall be very active Grin.

onestone2go · 19/11/2019 01:01

Though I had a fast food fail this afternoon, back on it tomorrow Smile
