Link to previous thread here: Half a stone (or 3kg) off for August!! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3652424-half-a-stone-or-3kg-off-for-august

Morning all! Welcome to the half a stone loss challenge for September. All are welcome whatever plan or method you are following. I'm mainly following ww online with some intermittent fasting thrown in for good measure!

All I ask is that we continue the uplifting positivity and support seen on previous threads! We cheerlead each other, celebrate success and support through the harder times.

We had a great month in August with lots of losses. I don't know about you lot but the longer this goes on the more it feels like a way of life for me now rather than "being on a diet"?

Stats for me are:
Starting weight: 19st 13
Loss for August: 14lbs
Loss for 2019: 5 st 3lbs
Target for September: 10lbs off

Ready for September??

❤️❤️

Great cake, looks very delicious!

Weight this morning 183.3 so i am pleased. Started the week at 186.4 but I know some of that was raw oats just sitting there. Was 185 two days before, so if that's my real start weight then 1.6 lbs this week. I'm happy with that.

I was really good all week, but are a huge blonde with toffee bits yesterday. Not good enough for the calories but I ate even the last crumb. 😟

I am pescatarian. Mostly veggie, have been for about 40 years. I do find many restaurants (and home cooks) use really high calorie ingredients to fill the plate.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 07/09/2019 17:55

Ok. Not *are a huge blonde!

Ate a huge blondie. Like a giant brownie.

Sheesh 😁

LooseAtTheSeams · 07/09/2019 18:07

cricketmum that's a really cute cake! Bet dd's friend will love it!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 07/09/2019 19:10

Whilst I’ve sworn off looking at the scales again until next weekend I had my second day in a row of running with the buggy; I’ve not done it before and today I took out the monster off road chariot and ran down the beach with it.

I felt so so happy, I’m able to do more and more now the baby is almost 16 weeks and I love singing nursery rhymes etc to her (when it’s really me taking my mind off struggling to get to 3K Grin)

WhoKnewBeefStew · 07/09/2019 19:55

I walked 5 miles today with the dogs and my dh and my knee is bloody killing me now. I think it's a cross between being overweight, lack of exercise and crap seating position at work has meant my knee I wrecked.

It was ok ish when I was going to the gym regularly, but I've let that slip and it's meant my knee is playing up again. I was hoping to go out again tomorrow but that might not be on the cards now

WoollyFoolly · 07/09/2019 20:33

MsAwesome I had the same problem with my work clothes. I have bought 2 pairs of smart but cheap trousers to keep me going until I can comfortably fit the next size down. Tops I'm just wearing the bigger sizes for now.

Millie2016 · 07/09/2019 21:35

@WoollyFoolly nice salad. I like the idea of adding apple.
@cricketmum84 that cake is brilliant!
Checking in after a busy day. I weighed in 0.3kg down. At least it’s going in the right direction! Slowly but surely and all that.
Must admit I wasn’t very good today. Pringles got me at a children’s party. But I do allow myself a little slack at the weekend.
Closing the kitchen.

ScoobyCan · 08/09/2019 07:01

Morning all! Very pleasing results when I jumped on the scales this morning:

1st Sept: 14 stone 6 // 92.8 kg // 204.6 lbs
8th Sept: 14 stone 0 // 88.9kg // 196 lbs

Swimming tomorrow, I've been good this week and kept away from temptation (carbs....). Need to stick at it and hopefully it will continue to drop. Keto and 16:8 combined seem to do the trick.

historysock · 08/09/2019 08:14

I lost another 2 pounds at weigh in yesterday so now down from 164 to 152 pounds (I started a little before the thread three weeks ago tomorrow). I've had three nights 'off' in that time too-so overall fairly pleased with the loss. Period is due however so have woken up feeling bloated (and my tummy looks massive) and also starving. Today will be a tough day as I always want to eat like Henry 8th on steroids before my period Grin

Onesmallstep67 · 08/09/2019 08:22

@scoobycan what a fantastic result for this week. You must be delighted. X
I've had a pretty good week too. A 4lb loss since last Sunday so I am very pleased with that. My weight loss over the summer had been slow but enough that I hadn't become disheartened. It had been busy with holidays and lots of family and social events that often involved meals out. But I seem to have a different attitude towards food since beginning to lose weight and for the most part I am making better choices.
I haven't had any alcohol all week, I have noticed that it's likely to cause an immediate weight gain with me. I haven't been out socially though so of course that helps !
Have a lovely Sunday everyone. I'm fascinated and encouraged by all your personal tips and stories. Here's to week 2 xx

MirandaWest · 08/09/2019 08:46

I weighed myself yesterday morning and was 67.9kg.

17th August 70kg
24th August 69.1kg
31st August 69.2kg
7th September 67.9kg

So going in the right direction Smile.

Is my birthday today so not intending to lose any weight today Grin

cricketmum84 · 08/09/2019 09:02

Morning all! Welcome to Day 8 ❤️

The birthday girl loved her cake yesterday and the other mums were suitably impressed! I let DD take the glory though lol.

Didn't do great food wise yesterday. I had 4 glasses of wine (!!!!!) in my defence there was karaoke at the party and there's only so many ways of getting through 11 year old girls doing karaoke 😂

After the crazy busy day I didn't end up eating until 10pm and it was my leftover noodles from Friday night.

Well done on all the losses! I'm so impressed and feeling motivated to try a bit harder next week...

Have a lovely relaxing Sunday everyone :)

Get your son and his baby to move back in, the weight drops off!

WoollyFoolly · 08/09/2019 09:34

@cricketmum84 I remember you saying you were suffering from costochondritis? How did it come on/what does it feel like? I started getting intense pains round my sternum last night and it's sooo painful this morning. Definitely feels muscular/bony. Doesn't hurt to breathe but really hurts to move.

cricketmum84 · 08/09/2019 09:50

@WoollyFoolly I have pain in my sternum, right under my left breast and round to my rib cage. Breathing isn't painful and general movement is fine but if you touch my chest or ribs it's very tender and sensitive. Coughing and sneezing is painful too.

Pain on movement would suggest muscular injury to me? But I'm sure I don't need to tell you that any sudden onset chest pain needs to be checked out....

No loss and for the first time in a month I have eaten breakfast. I was just starving as I ended up not eating much yesterday as too busy.

HollyTheHarrier · 08/09/2019 10:53

I indulged in an M&S brownie last night. It was worth everyone of the 230 calories! I was still within target and another 0.1kg down this morning so can’t have done much harm. 11 mile run done this morning so should be a good day 😊

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 08/09/2019 11:08

Is that costochonditis @cricketmum84

That’s so sore

cricketmum84 · 08/09/2019 11:24

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut yup that's it. It took numerous GP visits, 3 ECGS and then one totally clued up a&e consultant to finally diagnose. In the meantime it kicked off the most horrendous health anxiety and panic attacks!

Not fun at all x

OP posts:
WoollyFoolly · 08/09/2019 12:21

It's definitely muscular/bony and it's right on my sternum, I'm very sure it's not a heart attack, don't worry.
Just trying to rest and take painkillers today. It's buggered up my 30 day exercise challenge though, it was meant to be the last day yesterday and I couldn't do it!

bluebeck · 08/09/2019 12:53

Happy Birthday Miranda

I have STS which is a miracle given the HUGE amount of alcohol I consumed on Friday. Then of course yesterday I had to carb up to avoid Death By Hangover.

Good news, the "Ex Wot Broke My Heart" was all over me like a rash, saying how great I looked etc so that cheered me up no end (hadn't seen him for 7 years!)

I am being really good so far today- no breakfast, just a boiled egg for lunch. Might have a yoghurt mid afternoon, and then M&S chicken and mushroom Count On Us Pie with veg. It's bloody lovely!

Big Job Interview tomorrow. Tried on a size 14 dress and it fits perfectly, no tight seams anywhere, no stretching over the tummy, so I will wear that with heels and hope it gives me confidence. Need to spend the rest of today prepping myself with presumed interview questions/answers. I absolutely hate job interviews Sad

Woolly I hope you get that chest thingy sorted soon.

Well done to all the Losers Smile

Crazzzycat · 08/09/2019 12:56

I promised myself not to weigh myself until the end of the month, but I’ve already caved in!

78.1 kg on the scales this morning, which is a drop of 1.2 kg. I’m not quite sure how I managed that, as I fell off the wagon in the most spectacular fashion yesterday. At least these numbers give me some encouragement to keep going 😀

cricketmum84 · 08/09/2019 13:15

@bluebeck ha I bet that felt goooooood!!

Massive good luck for the interview tomorrow. Let's kick it in the dick 😂

Well done @Crazzzycat. Not sure I could go a month without weight tbh.
