Trying to lose a stone in 5 weeks who’s with me?

I really need to lose at least a stone in 5 weeks as have a holiday booked and my jeans are seeming a little tighter recently. I plan to write sort of a food diary on here as I find writing it down I stick to it more, anyone welcome to do the same we can support each other and motivate each other. X

@berrylands I'm doing 800 a day just slimfasts mostly. It's been fine, easy so far as you can't go wrong on it which is ideal for me. I don't have the brainspace for fannying about counting calories or measuring portions or preparing food. But it's been over a month now and I've lost 1st3lb and still have the best part of 3st to go, just to get to a healthy weight that I'm happy with, so I'm starting to get a bit fed up with not eating, drinking only water and still being so bloody fat!! I don't have an event or anything but as a goal I'm hoping to be done (or nearly there) by xmas.
I might treat myself to some diet coke later!

Can I join please? I would like to lose a stone in 7 weeks (think 2lbs a week should be doable). I'm 11st 8 and only 5'3 so quite overweight and feel horrible. I have more to lose than a stone but that's my first goal. I'm going to do 16:8 and 800 - 1000 calories, low carb high fat and protein, and also the occasional slimfast shake. I'm throwing everything at this (though I'm VERY good at planning diets and less good at sticking to them for more than half a day... ). I go on holiday 7 weeks today so would love to be slimmer for that and also fitter as it's going to be lots of walking, so going to up my steps to try to get fitter too.

Got off to a great start today - fasted till 2pm and then broke my fast with some nuts. Then had a big salad with lettuce, parmesan, olives, pickles and some cold roast chicken. Lots of water and herbal tea (that's all I drink anyway) and walked to town twice rather than take the car so better for the environment and am on 11K steps.

Slightly dodgy tummy this evening. Was going to have a slimfast shake but really don't fancy it. Have a very very stressful week ahead so hope I don't fall into the comfort food trap. I'm also out at a lunch work thing tomorrow but it's a buffet so should be something I can eat and I'll make sure I eat something beforehand.

Well done going. I'm fucked exercise-wise due to major arthritis of the hip. Walked half the local park run today though. Hip replacement due early October and I really need to lose a stone before then to aid fast recovery.

Oh good luck. I bet you feel fantastic when your new hip is up and running. I have back and hip problems at the moment but walking seems to be ok. Can’t run or do proper workouts or anything. Now that I physically can’t I actually really want to.

I am rubbish at this dieting lark. I basically weigh the same as I did when we started over two weeks ago. It comes off and then goes back on again at the weekend. Every bloody time.

I was so hopeful given how fat and bloated I am that a stone in 5 weeks was entirely possible. It seems not.

However it is a new month and the start of a new season and I have no choice but to keep going.

I am continuing to do 16/8. I am going to try and keep my calories to 800 in the week and 1200 at weekends if I really need to. I am giving up alcohol for a while. I am going to be more active.

We can do this!

That's exactly my experience too sadly. I don't even go overboard on eating at the weekends. Maybe just a couple of vodka and diet cokes and a slightly nicer dinner. I don't eat breakfast at all now, to save calories for the nicer weekend dinner.

I lost another pound! Half way through the challenge and 5lb down. Maybe a stone in 5 weeks was a bit too ambitious given I've just lost 1st last month so no starting diet water weight, which is always good for a little boost! But at this rate I'll have lost 10lb by the end of the 5 weeks and won't be obese anymore, woohoo, bring it on!

Yeah but if you hadn't been dieting you'd still have eaten the same at the weekend, just more in the week, so you would have put weight on. So you haven't lost weight from 2 weeks ago, but you've definitely lost weight compared to what you would have been today. Stopping the weight gain is half the battle.

Still 11st 5lb. Even after sticking to 800 - 1,000 calories for the last 4 days, without fail. Confused

weirdly, I do feel slimmer though. Perhaps its psychological.

I've lost just over 7lbs so far, but today I ate pizza. I tend to gain weight very very easily and can undo a whole diet in a day.

I lost 3lb this week. 11st 1 now. So that's 7lb loss so far on week 3 of this challenge, 1st7lb in total. Only another 2st7lb or so to go!

Well, finally I have started losing! 11st 3lb this morning, so that's a total of 7lb off. A whole half stone!! Very pleased. This has spurred me to keep going. Smile

As predicted the pizza made me gain and I've just maintained since. So I'm 5.5lbs down at the moment. So annoying. I can starve for days and lose a tiny bit and eat normally for one day and gain pounds.
