Trying to lose a stone in 5 weeks who’s with me?

Maybe2020 · 18/08/2019 11:17

I really need to lose at least a stone in 5 weeks as have a holiday booked and my jeans are seeming a little tighter recently. I plan to write sort of a food diary on here as I find writing it down I stick to it more, anyone welcome to do the same we can support each other and motivate each other. X

Good luck today ladies. It's day 1 for me. I weighed myself this morning, I'm 10st9.8 which is the heaviest I've ever been. I'm only 5ft. I'm going to skip breakfast and have a big omelette for lunch. Hectic day of getting the kids to activities is going to keep me busy!

thenightsky · 19/08/2019 10:58

Good idea slaveto3 Omelette for lunch will fill me up so I'll hopefully need less dinner.

ISmellBabies · 19/08/2019 13:26

maybe2020 fast 800 is 800 Calories a day for up to 12 weeks. I mostly just drink slimfast, either 4 a day or 3 plus 200cals of food. I've already lost a stone in a month, so I just need to keep going and repeat that 3 more times! Will obvs need slightly longer than 12 weeks but hopefully not much more.

Maybe2020 · 19/08/2019 13:49

Thankyou @berrylands!
Today has been good so far I’ve had 3 Wer tanks with milk for breakfast
Greek yoghurt with blueberries for a snack.
Thinking tuna pasta for lunch ( spinach trottoli)
And only eating out of a bowl so portions are smaller.
I do tend to drink quite a lot of water and gave up sugary drinks, but lately I’ve been drinking more Coca Cola so Now cutting that completely out. How is everyone doing today?
800 calories a day sounds so hard to sustain for 12 weeks to me! You must have so much willpower!
Think I might do intermittent fasting up until I go away too

This could be the thread for me. I weighed this morning and my god it was a shock. I am starting the Fast 800 too. Going to combine it with 16/8. Sounds like a maths question.

I have old Exante packs to use up so plan on having them along with some low carb food. I also have kefir and flax seeds everyday and I want to carry on with that as it has been really good for my digestion and skin.

MrsD0147 · 19/08/2019 14:57

I would love to join in too! Although my aim is 12lbs in 6 weeks Smile i actually do want to lose more but think that 2lb a week sounds realistic in my head hopefully!

Whattodo20192 · 19/08/2019 15:03

I'd love to join too! In the past I could shift weight quickly when I needed to but finding it hard now as I have a 2 month old and night feeds and colic are making me comfort eat :(
I want to drop a dress size by the beginning of October for a wedding im going to

Whattodo20192 · 19/08/2019 15:50

Does anyone have any dinner ideas? I usually have lean meat with veg but getting sick of plain veg now.

peachypetite · 19/08/2019 16:44

The500 calorie meal section on BBC recipes has been a life saver for me

Doje · 19/08/2019 19:28

A good day here too. Stuck to my meal plan, and just waiting for my Zumba session to start! Just have to avoid eating when I get home now!

DivaRainbow · 19/08/2019 20:15

Hey, Can I join in please. I had a baby 4 weeks ago and I have a wedding at end of September. I want to lose a stone at least. I'm currently cal counting and doing the 16:8 aswel.

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 19/08/2019 23:02

Just posting todays food so I’m held accountable...

2 eggs with 2 small wholemeal slices
Apple
Doritos and a few Maltesers (cinema trip!)
Tuna salad
Lean beef with sweet potato mash, broccoli and carrots

Still feel hungry, I’m so used to eating until I hate myself Blush hope my rumbling tummy adjusts soon!

thenightsky · 20/08/2019 00:07

3 cups of tea
1 satsuma
1 baked potato with tuna-mayo (no butter and only tiny bit of mayo)
2 scrambled eggs on 1 slice of toast (no butter)
loads of water.

Adds up to 925 calories by my estimation.

Jacksback · 20/08/2019 08:13

Starting today , 😊
Need to lose more than 1 stone but one goal at a time
Plan to do 16:8 and fast 800
Have almonds and a , peach and a natural yoghurt for 12 o clock .
Good luck to all

Jacksback · 20/08/2019 08:17

Oh and I ordered the fast 800 recipe book . Hopefully that will come today so some ideas for meals as I find I can get bored .

Isadora2007 · 20/08/2019 08:19

Read about the fast800 or even just the blood sugar diet. There is a thread going here on mumsnet. It’s not (despite what was suggested upthread) just restricting calories to 800- it’s a low carb, fresh food and healthy oils way of eating for a limited time (12 weeks is absolute max but most do 6-8 before moving into 5:2 or similar). You should be eating veg with every meal and oily fish twice a week etc. Not shakes etc. It’s very effective but obviously is quite difficult to stick to. But if you only need a stone off you could do it in the month.

Isadora2007 · 20/08/2019 08:19

Meant to say it’s the Michael Mosley book fast 800 or the blood sugar diet.

thenightsky · 20/08/2019 11:55

I've lost 2lb overnight! I was peeing a lot yesterday, so I reckon is must have been retaining fluid. It was a lovely boost though to see the scales had moved. Very motivating.

I'm keeping track of my calories on my phone. Trying to stay under 1,000 a day.

Jacksback · 20/08/2019 13:18

Well done thenightsky
Good start

ISmellBabies · 21/08/2019 11:53

Meh, so I'm doing it wrong, it's working for me so I'll keep going with my delicious easy shakes thank you very much, you can stick your oily fish right up your arse! [vom]
I lost a pound.

Jacksback · 21/08/2019 12:50

Lost 1 overnight lol , chuffed
Step 1 on my 49 lb journey
(Approx 16:8 and if not as low as 800 then big reduction , low carb )

Belindabelle · 21/08/2019 14:02

I am 4lbs down from Monday. I am using up old Exante packs first so I will join you in the easy shake camp ISmellBabies.

The Fast 800 is based on the Newcastle Diet to reverse type 2 diabetes which did use shakes.

ISmellBabies · 21/08/2019 14:10

They also sell their own shakes you can use (not ready made though and the powder isn't cheap).
4lb is amazing Belinda, well done!

thenightsky · 22/08/2019 11:01

Managed to keep under 900 calories yesterday! Today is going to be a challenge. It's DS's birthday and he's chosen Indian for his birthday meal out tonight. Argh.

Xanadu13 · 22/08/2019 14:33

Hey, I have used every diet imaginable, some have worked, but after reaching whatever goal I was aiming for at the time, I put it back on.. my son is getting married next July so here we go again.. I have managed 13lbs in the last 9 weeks.. another 20lbs to go 🙄
