Hello @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ☺️

We're close to 1k on our old thread and I thought I'd start this one whilst I remember and the other one is still open so I can point you to it!

We can finish the other one first if it'll make anyone itch leaving it unfinished 😀

Here's to getting to our goal weight/sizes during this thread! 🥂 (The next one we'll be maintaining!)

Morning 🙂

I'm with @Seer , I think you just need to bite the bullet @MrsGrindah. I buried my head in the sand for far to long until you know what you weigh your bit going g to lose anything.

I'm working today so hopefully I will still be able to squeeze a walk in my break despite the rain. I'm also currently lying in bed having g a cuppa before the day starts @Seer 😳 Though will need to rush the DC off out the door to school shortly.

B- Couple of cups of tea
L- Strawberries and more tea
D-Roast Chicken Wraps with loads of salad and a handful of Doritos

I'll also gave 2 or 3 glasses of Prosecco as my midweek treat 😳😳😳

I can't really imagine the situation with your Male friend @Seer especially as (I assume) your happily married. Jealous/untrusting wife I suppose but might not be without reason though (not to do with you).

Have an enjoyable day all 😊

DottieLottie1 · 04/09/2019 08:47

Hmmm new phone on a different operating system. Can't highlight names very easily and my paragraphs have been lost! That doesn't excuse the fact I fail to proofread though 😳

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 04/09/2019 12:42

I can't stop thinking about food. I'm trying to drink a glass of water when. I feel hungry but it's just masking me sloshy. And I need to pee all the time.

To the fellow vegan in the group (sorry I can't remember who's who) what do you have for lunch? I'm struggling for inspiration.

MrsGrindah · 04/09/2019 13:26

Chickened out of weighing myself just yet, but have selected a pair of trousers to gauge progress . They used to be loose on me and now I can’t get them over my tum! Will also measure my waist although I’m a complete hourglass so might be misleading but at least I’ll see the inch loss!

Seer · 04/09/2019 13:45

Enjoy your Wednesday Prosecco @DottieLottie1 I always think that's such a good idea!

@MyGhastIsFlabbered I'm the other vegan... re lunch... very little lately 😀

I generally make a big batch of mixed vegetable (inc potato) and bean or lentil soup in my Instant Pot and have that most days. It's pretty low in cals but really filling.

If I don't have any of that left then I'll have a salad with mixed leaves, palm hearts, olives hummus, fresh herbs and balsamic vinegar or miso soup with vegetables and tofu or Itsu veg dumplings (from freezer section).

Occasionally I'll have baked potato with sweetcorn, salad, piccalilli etc which I love but find hard to keep low enough in calories.

I try to keep my lunch under 250 cals. With fasting thru breakfast that allows me to have around 500 cals at dinner plus tea with soya milk, maybe a spritzer, a piece of dark chocolate and stay around 1k cals.

That's week days, at weekends I eat more ☺️

Seer · 04/09/2019 13:47

I'm an hourglass too @MrsGrindah but I was shocked at the size of my waist (35") at the beginning of May 😮 More shocked than at my weight tbh!

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 05/09/2019 07:04

Morning all 😊

@MrsGrindah well done, that's a starting point and yes, you can do this!

At work today. I've got a few boring errands to do during my break so that will get me hot footing it.

B- Vanilla and almond milkshake
L- Shop bought protein shake and a punnet of strawberries
D- Roast Chicken in pitta and mountains of salad

Will be around 1050 cals

Weigh in tomorrow😬

Everything ok @TantricTwist?

Have a good day all 🙂

DottieLottie1 · 05/09/2019 07:07

Forgot to mention that another person commented on my weight loss yesterday. I haven't seen this person in about 4 weeks so maybe it looks a bit more dramatic than it is!

Seer · 05/09/2019 07:43

Whoop whoop! I've skipped over my pre-hols weight and gone straight to my original goal weight! 💃

So so happy! ☺️

It happens to be an anniversary for us today so will be out celebrating that too. So I'll have a day off from dieting tho will aim not to undo all my good work by totally over-eating!

Trying to decide on my next goal. I think it's simply a 29" waist but I'm not fussed about the weight.

I'll guesstimate it at another 10lb off tho so I can keep myself motivated and on track with daily weighing as the tape measure alone doesn't show enough detail for me!

I also have a desire to see my abs come back, even just a hint of them! My toned tummy was always my best point pre-DCs so it feels amazing to be returning to a resemblance of it again, especially at my age (48).

I might not need to lose the whole 10lb to get there but that's the goal for now.

So, next stop for me is 151lb which would take me into the '10stone something bracket' (10 stone 11lb) and finally take me just into a healthy BMI - which is frankly ridiculous! I believe I'm a healthy size now by any measure.

Plans for today...

B: fasting
L: veg and chick pea soup
D: a feast at my fave Chinese and a couple of glasses of something 🥂

Not going to count calories today!

Have a lovely day all! ☺️

At last they're noticing @DottieLottie1 ! 😀

Threadbaretoe · 05/09/2019 08:12

Morning all.

I'm very impressed with your organised approaches and knowing what you are going to eat at the start of each day. I tend to wing it but I think this works for me so I can see what I fancy and can work around how the day pans out. If I know I am going out for dinner, I do plan to only eat fruit for lunch though!

I do need to do something about building muscle to improve my chances of keeping the weight off. I have heard mention of kettle bells - we have a set here as my partner uses them (he does Iron Man stuff and is quite extreme). I don't want to ask him as he would definitely come up with an extreme approach!

DottieLottie1 · 05/09/2019 09:14

@Threadbaretoe, @Seer is your go to when it comes to kettle bells!

@Seer go you! That's brilliant and glad your happy in yourself again. I generally avoid looking in full length mirrors but I did this morning, I'm not quite happy yet, my fighting weight is 10st flat. I carry weight round my hips, bum and thighs. I've never known what my figure type is despite researching. I'm not pear or apple but closer to hour glass. I've got hips but they are not huge, smaller at the waist and very broad/square shoulders. I'm not big busted and lose weight on them too. 🤷‍♀️

Enjoy your evening @Seer 😊

Seer · 05/09/2019 09:31

I'm a kettlebeller @Threadbaretoe ! I do 100 swings (10 x 10) most days and have worked up from 8kg to 16kg over the last 3 months.

I'm sure it's been a big contribution to my weight loss - the bonus is my body feels more toned and stronger than it has in years!

I used to do a sport regularly in my 20s and was very strong and fit - this is as close as my body has been to that since then, and it's all down to the kettlebell swings!

The reason I plan my day out is so I can a) project out how I'll stay within my calorie allowance b) so I don't over-eat at lunch, particularly leftovers, which are delicious, healthy and cost effective but tend to be foods that I struggle to eat small portion sizes of (eg rice and pasta)!

If I'm organised then I seem to do a lot better at sticking to my plan and within my calorie allowance.

Thank you @DottieLottie1 ! And thank you for all your support to get me this far! 😍

Maybe you're an inverted triangle?

mport.com/blog/female-inverted-triangle-body-shape/

Although I'm an hourglass, I also have an athletic build so I'm a weird blend of big boobs and wide hips, a slim waist (again, thankfully!) and really muscular arms and legs! I'm as strong as many men!

OP posts:
MyGhastIsFlabbered · 05/09/2019 10:05

I'm winging it too. Definitely can't fast breakfast, I always wake up starving Blush

I can't remember if I've already mentioned my fractured foot-so exercise is out for me, hoping next week I'll get the all clear from orthopaedics.

Currently thinking about food...I have a pre-diet pack of hobnobs in my drawer at work which are calling me. Must resist.

TantricTwist · 05/09/2019 17:35

Hi just popping on to say hi before I read through all the posts I've missed in the last couple of days. I've been busy and tired. Barely eaten today because I've been rushing around on my day off buying School shoes and other things that suddenly don't fit Confused 🤯 even though I made sure to check a good few times 🙄

TantricTwist · 05/09/2019 17:47

So I've read through and forgotten who's said what already, sorry.

@DottieLottie1 Hmm to those comments you got at the party, people are idiots sometimes, I mean what a thing to say.

@Seer Wow to reaching your goal weight. I reckon those kettle bells have made a massive difference.

I joined a gym today because it has a lovely pool and I just want to swim more, I love swimming. They have loads of classes etc and a great gym which I'll use too. I used to go a few years ago and loved it but then found I was too busy and tired. But as DD is now older I can bring her along with me occasionally as well as DS who can then both swim and even try out the gym if they want

Grin at thought of DS on a treadmill.

TantricTwist · 05/09/2019 17:52

B - Fast
L - slice of pumpernickel bread with butter
D - Chicken salad with butter beans and 4 Chinese chicken dumplings from Waitrose and 2 slices of DS pizza.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 05/09/2019 18:49

I'm still eating a lot more than you lot BUT I've cut right down so it's a start!

Seer · 06/09/2019 07:07

Morning all!

Had a lovely night out and a gorgeous meal (but I didn't gorge!)

So what's everyone's Goal Clothes?

Mine are/were a pair of shorts and a pair of jeans. Both size 12, which is my usual size for bottoms, but they're high waisted and because I have a v long torso they fall more on my hips and therefore come up smaller on me than any other size 12s or even 10s. Confused

The back story of the shorts... bought them last year, too small, meant to return them but dh misplaced them, found them about 3 months ago and they were still way too small (inches away from being able to be buttoned) and it was too late to return them so decided to keep as an item of Goal Clothes.

The back story of the jeans... these are the jeans I lived in 5 years ago but haven't worn for the past 4 years or so. I tried them on a couple of months ago and they were still at least 2 inches away from being able to be done up.

Updated situation as of yesterday...

Shorts: They now fit perfectly! I might even wear them today if it's sunny enough ☺️

Jeans: they're now about an inch away from me being able to button and zip them properly (I can just do up the top button if I never breathe 😀). It blows my mind that I used to wear them without a second thought! If I get to my goal waist size then they should finally fit again.

So good that you've joined a gym @TantricTwist ! I know exercise isn't the main ingredient in weight loss but I think it's so important in us falling back in love with our bodies again and wanting to look after them well. It's great that you have swimming - enjoying exercise makes such a difference!

Plan today...

B: fasting
L: veg and chick pea soup
D: Indian takeaway + wine

Exercise: kettlebells and dog walk

Have a fab day all!

  • calories

Going to aim for 1200 max despite it being a Fri (when I usually go higher) as I ate out last night.

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 06/09/2019 07:55

I've just written a long post (twice) and neither have posted.

Well done @Seer you must be chuffed. I'm doing the same with a pair of work uniform shorts. They fit but I'd like them to be slightly looser as I don't want any chafing!

DocusDiplo · 06/09/2019 08:00

Sorry to burst in on you all but I've just ruined my diet and I'm distraught and panicking. :'(

DottieLottie1 · 06/09/2019 08:03

Maybe they didn't list as I attached my MFP graph 🤷‍♀️

So, weighed in and..... 3 lbs off this week, taking me to 10st 13lb!! That's 33lbs in 16 weeks with 13 to go. Target date of Halloween but I think I that's pushing it a bit!

Strange this weight loss malarkey. I plateaued, albeit for 2 weeks and then this sudden Whoosh. I felt like I had lost some this week.

Working today and then away for the weekend. Having a cuppa as we speak but wo t be able to fit lunch in as working 10-3 then straight off after DC are back from school. Italian restaurant booked for tonight and loads of walking planned.

I wanted to post my MFP graph as they are so motivational. Alas, new phone not behaving!

Enjoy your day all 😊

DottieLottie1 · 06/09/2019 08:07

@DocusDiplo, please don't panic! We all slip up from time to time. What's your goal? What plan as such are you following?

We're here, we're listening. Don't be hard on yourself. 😊
