Hello @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ☺️

We're close to 1k on our old thread and I thought I'd start this one whilst I remember and the other one is still open so I can point you to it!

We can finish the other one first if it'll make anyone itch leaving it unfinished 😀

Here's to getting to our goal weight/sizes during this thread! 🥂 (The next one we'll be maintaining!)

Sorry you are all feeling grotty! I keep losing the same pound if you see what I mean but still under 11st so that’s good! Need to keep it together over the weekend.

Seer · 14/11/2019 21:17

I always lose and gain the same two pounds @MrsGrindah ! See my daily graph. I'm currently two pounds over my lowest weight but it's also been my lowest averaged weight week.

Somehow the line still trends downwards over time!

Yes I keep telling my self that I’m on on a downward trajectory and that’s the main thing!

DottieLottie1 · 15/11/2019 07:51

Morning 🙂

Well I have some news.... I had a 'woosh' this week and have lost 3lbs and the s ales were flickering to the pound below. I've only bloody gone and done it! I'm also I the 9 stone bracket now (just).

So, it's been a 27 week journey. I am 5ft 9 and weighed in at 13 st 4, the heaviest I've ever been. I knew I'd gained a bit of weight but had buried my head in the sand. Stretchy waistband were my friend. 10 stone is my happy weight. The moment the penny dropped I went straight on a calorie controlled diet but allowed a mini blowout at weekends. It worked, I have lost 3st 5 lbs.

Start weight- 13 st 4
Goal weight- 10 st 0
Current weight- 9 st 13

Now I need to turn my attention to maintaining. I think I might stay low calorie until Christmas and then let my hair down. New regime which will be eating around 1600/1700 calories daily but importantly making sensible choices. I'm also going to make sure I keep walking! I will weigh in more regularly a d hopefully have a grasp of calorie content that I wont necessarily have to keep count. I obviously don't intend to spoil my hard work.

DH wi be buying me my levis for Christmas 🤣

How are you all?

Enjoy your Friday

Seer · 15/11/2019 08:33

Wow!!! That's amazing news @DottieLottie1 ! Losing 3lb at this stage is pretty rare I'd say too.

You've done incredibly well 🌟 How will you celebrate?

Are you going to stay on this thread? Selfishly, I hope so!

No loss for me yet but I'm ok with that, I'm nowhere near as committed and focused are you! The scales flickered a couple of pounds down this morning so I feel I haven't got long to go. 2-3lb left and then I'll be joining you in maintenance mode.

It's not helped that my activity levels have been much lower recently what with my period followed by this virus. I haven't done kettlebells for over a week. I'm sure it'll help once I'm back to usual activities.

Nothing much planned today here tho looking forward to our usual Friday night takeaway:

B: fast (just made the DCs banana pancakes and refrained 😇)
L: veg, miso, Asian dumplings
D: Chinese takeaway + wine

Should be 1500 cals max

Have a lovely day! ☺️

DottieLottie1 · 15/11/2019 08:34

Definitely staying on board this thread @Seer , its kept me accountable and it will keep it that way!

DottieLottie1 · 15/11/2019 08:37

And it does sound like you are awaiting a 'woosh' too! I only lost 1 lb in the 3 weeks previous to this loss, despite being true to my diet all the way through 🤷🏼‍♀️

Seer · 15/11/2019 08:43

Will you start adding in breakfast or lunch @DottieLottie1 ?

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 15/11/2019 08:51

I've never really eaten breakfast unless on holiday (only as it seems so unsociable). I'm also aware that having breakfast is a real good start to the day but from experience I tend to eat more the earlier I have started eating in the day. I think I will add in a light lunch instead.

I've changed my MFP settings to maintaining and it reckons I need 2130 calories daily. I already know that is way too many I will definitely gain on that. I would say 1600/1700 is about right for me.

I'm not going to switch to maintaining until after christmas. Though I fully intend a blowout for the festive period 😂. This gives me a little bit if leeway to enjoy myself

  • this might be wrong but that's my plan!
Seer · 15/11/2019 08:57

I believe that the latest research doesn't seem to support eating breakfast, plus by missing it you're benefiting from a longer fast.

Like you, I'm not naturally a breakfast person, so I'll continue to fast through it during weekdays even when I'm maintaining,

It sounds like eating lunch is a better bet for you.

Morning!

Just about to go into work. Working until late afternoon, then home for takeaway and film night!

I ended up eating one of DS cherry scones that he had made in his food &nutrition class. I felt mean saying no but I didnt have any cream or jam but that was more to do with not having any in!

B&L- fast
D- takeaway possibly Chinese

Have a good Saturday all 😊

Seer · 16/11/2019 11:17

Morning!

Im sure you're entitled to a cherry scone now you've hit your goal weight @DottieLottie1 !

Taking it really easy today to try to shake this virus. Then off out with dh tonight, maybe a meal and cinema.

B: v bacon in olive bread
L: possibly fast
D: think dh and I will eat out but I don't know what yet

Will aim to keep in under 1500 cals

Have a lovely day!

(@TantricTwist we still miss you! )

Hello all,

Watched DS play his sport first thing, it was cold!!!! Then home and took the dog out, stopped at our local independent coffee shop whilst out. I had a coconut milk based hot chocolate which tastes a little like bounty but a lot fewer calories. I have just popped the chicken I'm the oven to roast and settled to watch the football before dinner time. Come on England!!!!

B- Coconut milk based hot chocolate
L- fast
D- Roast chicken wraps with salad and dips.

That's just shy of 1000 calories fir the day. I'm not going to go to hardcore as I've now hit target and I know much more of a loss will make me thin rather than slim which isn't what I want. I just want to give myself a little leeway for Christmas treats in a few weeks time 😬😂

Any interesting plans? Enjoy your Sunday. 😊

DottieLottie1 · 18/11/2019 06:36

Up early as I l've a chest infection and laying down brilliant gs on the coughing fits. So feeling a bit poorly and very tired 😔. I've also been keeping DH awake which isn't great as he is always up early for work and operates dangerous machinery. He says he's fine though.

I'm going to make myself a cuppa shortly and then stir the DC. Once they are off to school I'm going to take the dog out for a long walk depending if my chest can take it. I might venture out to Waitrose (closest one is in your town @Seer) as I'm after Alpro Dark Chocolate
Almond Drink which isn't sold in any of my local supermarkets. I'm hoping I can warm it through for hot chocolate which would be low, low calories as only 47 Kcal per 100 mls. Big weekly shop also needs doing.

I was going to ask you all whether you meal plan or just decide each day? We have meal planned for years and find it works really well. You know what your eating (I always fancy it for some reason), no food waste and cheaper. Only difference for me from before I lost weight was the choices I was making.

B- Vanilla and almond milkshake
L- fast
D- pesto tagliatelle, salami, goat cheese, breadsticks

Should be sub 1000

What's everyone up to today? Enjoy your Monday all 😊

DottieLottie1 · 18/11/2019 06:37

brings on coughing fits!

Seer · 18/11/2019 07:31

Morning!

Oh no @DottieLottie1 ! It does sound like you've caught my virus after all. I still haven't shaken mine, which is a real shame as I have an important event this evening.

I hope yours shifts quicker than mine has. Make sure you take it easy.

I'll try to remember to check out whether our waitrose does that milk. (I go there for the free coffee almost every day after the school run!)

I do meal plan but only M-T as Friday is a takeaway, Saturday and Sunday we'll decide together as a family (Sat will usually it'll be something easy and junk foody like home-made pizza or v burgers in wraps), Sun we often eat out or will have a roast or similar).

The only real difference for me since secret dieting is having low cal lunches and smaller portions of carbs (the main thing I'll over eat, I love pasta and rice!) at dinner. I didn't snack much anyway but I have been more restrained when we're socialising and have crisps etc out!

I haven't planned meals for this week tho as dh is away until Thursday and the DC are eating elsewhere Tues and Wed!

B: fast
L: veg soup
D: Veg and tofu stirfry, rice and spring rolls

Aiming for 1k cals.

Have a lovely day! ☺️

Morning!

I have been logging in every few days and checking in on how you are all doing. Well done Dottie for meeting your target weight - brilliant work!

Daughters fracture is on-going. She had to have a second op and is still immobilised. It has been the tipping point for managing life in a way that delivers for everyone, but by next year things should be back on an even keel.

Weight wise, I am now 2kgs off target, having lost 30kgs. I tend to think that things have stagnated since life has been chaotic but I realised that I have actually lost 4kgs since the fracture.

The dark chocolate almond milk sounds lovely. I haven't noticed it in my local Waitrose. I have been having lots of hot chocolate by using almond milk and Sweet Freedom Chocolate shot (both from Waitrose). I buy this as I avoid artificial sweeteners - they wreck my gut bacteria and, I think, contributed to my weight gain.

Have a good day....and Christmas, if I don't post again before then!

Seer · 18/11/2019 08:45

Is this the one @DottieLottie1 ? If so it's here!

The one where we get into our old jeans
OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 18/11/2019 08:51

Yes @Seer ! Were you In there when/ shortly after I posted???? 😂

I'll definitely swing by later and pop into JS whilst I'm at it! Thanks 😊

DottieLottie1 · 18/11/2019 08:58

Hi @Threadbaretoe , nice to hear from you again!

I'm sorry you and your DD have had a rough time with her injury. Hopefully she will get some normality back soo and 2020 is a better year. However your weight loss has been amazing and it sounds like your almost there despite your plateau. You'll do it 😉

@Seer you'll be on the mend soon too, I'm sure.

DottieLottie1 · 18/11/2019 13:38

I ended up at sainsburys in TP @Seer and ended up getting Chocolate Hazelnut milk drink by Rude Health its 57 cals per 100ml. My mug was just shy of 300 ml so around 160 cals and it warmed up nicely to make a great hot choc alternative, although I did have to add a sweetener.😋 I will certainly try the alpro chocolate almond milk when I'm next near waitrose as I now know they do stock it in store 😉

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 18/11/2019 19:54

Hello ladies. Another 2lb off this week. I've kept right off alcohol, which is my biggest weakness, chocolate and savoury snacks. Staying away from bread too and making lots of yummy soups for lunch.

DottieLottie1 · 18/11/2019 19:57

That's great @MyGhastIsFlabbered! How are you finding SW in general? My DM did it donkeys years ago and was really successful. She found that whilst it was quite boring she was always full.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 18/11/2019 20:32

I don't mind SW. I've done it before and lost about 3 stone. What I like is the amount of free food I can eat unlimited quantities of. I do have an unhealthy relationship with food, in that I do binge...it's not right but with SW I can still do that and still lose weight. I don't feel deprived so I'm more likely to stick to it.

I'm getting bored of not drinking though!

DottieLottie1 · 19/11/2019 08:09

Morning!

@MyGhastIsFlabbered it's such a shame that booze is so calorific. It was definitely the main cause of my weight gain. What's your tipple of fancy? As you can tell I'm a Prosecco girl but I also love crabbies, disaranno and baileys. To be fair I've always drink baileys on special occasions only due to it being full cream! I've tried to like a slimline gin but no, not for me.

Reading that makes it look like I had a drink problem! I've only ever drunk 2 or 3 times a week but add up the calories and its huge, no wonder I gained. I've cut back to Prosecco only 😉

Nothing particularly interesting planned. Once DC are off to school I'm going to wrap up warm and take the fog out for a long one. Its turned really cold here but bear in mind I'm in the SE so I appreciate its probably colder elsewhere. I've then got to hoover out the car as DS and teammates keep leaving mud behind! This afternoon I'm going to tackle my wardrobe. See what now fits and still looks acceptable for 2019 or bin things that are either too big or in a time warp. It's not a good idea to keep my big clothes is it? (well size 10s stretched to around a 16) , they need to go too dont they? Other than that it's my normal sports training chauffeur service for both my DC this evening. Work tomorrow.

B- The new hazelnut milk chocolate drink I bought yesterday warmed through. 😋
L- fast
D- roast chicken in pitta with salad, olives and beetroot
S- raspberries

That's just over 800 calories so I'll add in something else at some point.

Have a lovely Tuesday everyone 😊
