Target: 2kgs per month off by Christmas (any method) - anyone?

Just for some moral support/egging on, anyone else joining me with a steady 2kg per month off until Christmas? By any method we like?!

I am going to start (this week) with generally trying to eat less cals a day, less carbs and also try Intermittent Fasting a couple of times a week. Not going mad with crazy diets, and not going to break my neck doing it but also just trying to eat less/move more, and lose a couple of dress sizes over the next few months.

Would anyone like to join me? :)

Thanks Rezie and two slices. I have to keep reminding myself I have come a long way as I still hate looking in the mirror!
My post c section belly is a real problem area so I'm going to try to do crunches.
Not the best food day as I had roast lamb! Avoided all the trimmings etc and just had veg but still feel guilty. Actually looking forward to a salad tomorrow!

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 09/09/2019 03:25

oh no Dakota, sorry to hear that. Are you both bearing up ok?

Great result, KT - that's fantastic!

isit, nothing wrong with Roast Lamb!!

Keto - sounds good!

Good news from this quarter, 74kg this morning. This 4pm dinner really works for me, I'm going to stick to it. Yesterday's food log:

B: fat free greek raspberry yog & granola
S: Apple with walnuts (cooked with butter/cinnamon/chilly/monkfruit sugar) SO GOOD!
L: Aubergine/cheese parmigiana thing & lettuce
S: 2 small chocolate/chia energy balls
D: Baked potato, coleslaw, cheese, sweetcorn.

Starting weight: 75.4kg
Current weight: 74kg
Weightloss: 1.4kg
Still to go: 9kg

Well done 2slices. My really weak time is 9pm to 10pm when I just crave sweet stuff! I'm not sure I could do such an early dinner without devouring rubbish later.

KTD27 · 09/09/2019 08:30

@DakotaFanny oh no! Hope you’re all holding up ok. Hugs to him and you!

@Isittheend c section tum is my nemesis. Not sure I’ll ever get rid so I’m trying to make my peace - ish with it. Would dearly like it to shrink though

Isittheend · 09/09/2019 13:42

@KTD27 it's now becoming a c section flap of skin 😱

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 09/09/2019 13:50

isit i'm up pretty early (by 5/5.30) and asleep by 9pm so my munchie time is really in the morning, I can eat and eat and eat up until lunchtime. So far so good.

Today:
B: Granola/yoghurt
S: Apple/peanut butter
L: Baked potato/coleslaw/cheese
S: hot chocolate
D: aubergine/parmigiana thing.
Exercise: none

I'm pondering a little something else but trying not to.

@DakotaFanny so sorry to hear about your DS. How is he doing now? MIL and BIL both have type 2 diabetes and DP is at high risk - he's been on courses about it and is evangelical and very annoying for a short time afterwards, but then goes back to his old bad habits.....

@Isittheend oh the c section tum Sad Sad mine is horrific, had an enormous bump (twins) then a planned c section followed by two emergency operations when they were none too careful about how they cut me open. Even when I lost lots of baby weight it was still there!

Actually had a pretty good day here and done some meal prep for tomorrow. Miracles will never cease!!

DakotaFanny · 11/09/2019 06:41

Morning all,

Thanks to all those who asked, we are all doing okay. He is being an absolute superstar and we are working hard to come to terms with it all.

1.8lbs off for me this week. Happy with that! So 2.2 in total- not happy with that, but this time I’m trying really hard to take a longer term view. Slow and steady will do!

MonkeysaurusRex · 11/09/2019 09:04

None off for me this week, but none back on either, which is good considering the amount of crap I've eaten this week. New start today, back to being strict and cupboards etc stocked with healthy options so hopefully some more off by this time next week

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 11/09/2019 15:33

I'm a little fed up with progress especially as I've had quite a good week in terms of lack of junk. But 2kg a month is 0.5kg a week which I guess I have done this week.

Just need to keep plugging away!

Dakota, well done to your DS, he sounds like a real trooper.

@2slices I know what you mean. Personally my issue is that I can’t bloody stand it when I make a supreme effort and I’m not immediately rewarded. Like I know it didn’t ‘go on overnight’ etc etc but I’ve TRIED GODDAM IT. I was feeling confident about my weigh in until this morning. Now am full of doom there’s no point trying hard it doesn’t seem to matter anyway style thoughts. What a mind f*k and a good dose of self sabotage! It’s such a mental battle for me.

DakotaFanny · 11/09/2019 18:11

I 100% agree KTD it’s hard to keep your logical head on when you’re disappointed by the number on the scale.

KTD27 · 11/09/2019 19:11

One measly pound. FURIOUS.

KTD27 · 11/09/2019 19:12

Wish there was an edit button! At least it’s off and not on but oh my god. I’ve been an angel all week. Not a drop of alcohol. Clearly drinking wine is my superpower.

Rezie · 11/09/2019 20:20

I read somewhere that it can take your body up to 21 days to adjust to changes. Therefore it is possible that we have to wait a few more weeks to see results. Annoying.

I haven't had chocolate or candy in a week. Which is a lot for me. Had 6 pieces of chocolate (mum had bought some) today. Didn't get an urge to wat the whole bar. Which is amazing from me!
I doubt I've kept any weight. It's frustrating. I've been so good with food.

KTD27 · 11/09/2019 20:31

@rezie I’ll take it. It’s a glimmer of hope!

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 12/09/2019 12:48

So glad we are all in the same boat.
Just this morning I was thinking that if I'm going to remain the same weight as when I eat whatever I want, then I may as well eat whatever I want!

Subsequently had a pastry for breakfast followed by a family sized bag of crisps!

Also just thinking about ordering dinner & having a proper drink.
I'll be back on form tomorrow but just fed up today - tomorrow I'm going to get back in to salad & veg.

Isittheend · 12/09/2019 13:17

I've found (as I've been on my diet since March) that I'll have 3 weeks of not a lot of weight loss then, 1/2 lbs a week or something then I'll have 1 week where it drops off. I think it's related to my cycle.

KTD27 · 12/09/2019 13:53

I was wondering about that actually @Isittheend I have the mirena though so not sure whether that means I shouldn’t be affected

MonkeysaurusRex · 12/09/2019 15:14

I was wondering about that too, as definitely feel less able to resist crap food at certain times of the month

jellybean007 · 12/09/2019 18:19

Yes me too!

I had to use a hair bobble to do my jeans up yesterday. This has to stop! I lost quite a bit last year with noom, looks like 1.5 stone has crept back on.

2 KG a month sounds doable... I've got 9 to lose total.

Thanks for the thread.

jellybean007 · 12/09/2019 18:21

@rezie I never see a change for the first 2-3 weeks, it's so hard to stay on track when you're hungry and can't see an improvement. I'm just going to try and put my blinkers on, keep on with healthy eating and hope for a change by end of Sept...

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 12/09/2019 18:41

welcome jellybean! some of us (me) are at the same point as when we started so you haven't missed anything!

hair bobble sounds all too familiar!

Bizarrely was just watching Noom success stories on an advert but it doesn't say what it is without clicking to 'find out more'?! what is it??
