Don't want to do it alone

Fizog - probably. On Wednesday I felt awful. You may be dehydrated from losing water weight, so make sure you drink a lot (of water).

By the way, he doesn't say that you have to cut out caffeine, he just says that caffeine can increase food cravings, and I guess also it can make you more dehydrated. In the book he says he won't make you cut out coffee because you're already cutting out enough things.

Fizog · 24/09/2004 15:58

Thanks Kate I feel better now about the coffee. It's weird I'm practiacally living off meat cheese eggs and spinach with a mushroom and tomato thrown in for good measure!

KateandtheGirls · 24/09/2004 15:58

I thought I would crave a particular food, like bread or pasta, but I don't. It's more like an overall feeling like I wish I could eat something else.

By the way, he does say you should eat something even if you're not hungry. It's kind of a preemptive strike so that you don't feel worse later.

Fizog · 24/09/2004 16:01

Oh, I will try to have something every morning before I go the gym then.

This is only my 2nd full day on South Beach as I switched to this, how long did it take before you noticed any weight loss?

KateandtheGirls · 24/09/2004 16:04

I weighed my self for the first time yesterday at the beginning of day 4. I was down 3 pounds. This morning I was down another pound, so a pound a day so far.

Chinchilla · 24/09/2004 20:06

Kate - don't weigh yourself more than once a week, as weight can vary from day to day. A weekly weigh-in gives you a more balanced picture.

I lost 4lbs!

KateandtheGirls · 24/09/2004 20:26

I know Chinchilla. I already posted that already in this thread.

It's just that with the diet promising such rapid results I couldn't wait a whole week.

And did you wait a week yourself young lady? Hmm?

Chinchilla · 24/09/2004 21:31

Sorry... Was only trying to help.

And, yes I did. I was tempted, but I managed not to do it.

KateandtheGirls · 24/09/2004 21:40

Oh, 'cause we started this thread on Monday, I thought you meant you had lost 4 lbs since Monday.

JuniperDewdrop · 24/09/2004 21:43

Hi all, I've been very very naughty tonight. Dh the boys and I went for an Indian meal and I ate far too much. Though I totally blame the chef for giving such huge portions!!

Ernest, I haven't used my toy yet, it's still in the box but I think I'll be having a mega bounce tomorrow to burn off my dinner tonight

Chinchilla · 24/09/2004 21:44

I joined this thread 20th Sept, 7.44pm, saying that I had already started dieting.

As I said, I was only trying to help. I thought that this thread was for that...you know, sharing advice etc.

Good luck, I hope that the diet is good for you. WW seems quite good, apart from being a rip-off on the products front.

twogorgeousboys · 24/09/2004 21:50

Juniper, tomorrow is another dieting day (she says as she slugs way through third glass of red wine .

JuniperDewdrop · 24/09/2004 21:50

Well done Chinchilla

I feel so bloated and guilty now. Never mind, tomorrow is another day!

JuniperDewdrop · 24/09/2004 21:51

OMG twogorgeousboys, now you can't say we copied each others messages spooky or what??

JuniperDewdrop · 24/09/2004 21:52

And I have two gorgeous boys too!! Ooooo wonder if we have anything else in common???

KateandtheGirls · 24/09/2004 21:54

Sorry Chinchilla, I didn't offend you did I? I certainly didn't mean to. Glad your diet is going so well.

JuniperDewdrop · 24/09/2004 21:57

Hi Kate, it can be so difficult in text can't it? You know what you mean but someone may read it wrong iykwim???

Mind you I'm fairly blunt in RL. Think I'm much nicer on MN

Well am I?? go on tell me how nice I am!!!

Chinchilla · 24/09/2004 21:58

No, I'm just feeling a little paranoid on here lately. I seem to be killing a lot of threads, and am feeling 'no-one likes me'. Time of the month, and maybe I shouldn't have taken myself off the ADs. I'll try to be a bit more thick-skinned from now on!

JuniperDewdrop · 24/09/2004 22:02

Hi Chinchilla, it must be hard for you coming of ADs and dieting at the same time?? I came off my ADs a few months back and it's a scary time. Did you come off them cold turkey or gradually?

just ignore me if I'm being too nosey btw

Chinchilla · 24/09/2004 22:05

I swapped them, as my old ones stopped working. Once I had become used to the new ones, they didn't actually make a differnce to my mood. I then forgot to take them for a couple of days, and didn't notice any difference in mind or body, so stopped them altogether. My paranoia is creeping back, but generally, I am happier. I feel much more positive in myself now that I have taken my weight in hand again.

JuniperDewdrop · 24/09/2004 22:18

That's good to hear Chinchilla I'm much happier now. I think they are good though and would always recommend them to peeps. I'm on SJW now and swear by it (liquid) I forgot to take it today and could feel it iykwim. Then realised why

It doesn't stop my tummy from looking like a beer belly though, all that food I had tonight is protesting

Fizog · 26/09/2004 19:43

I've fallen off the wagon. I am cr@p

KateandtheGirls · 26/09/2004 19:46

Get back on... quick!

I fell off the wagon yesterday. I went out to lunch with my SIS and our kids and so I had a couple of beers. That led to a glass of wine in the evening and a little bag of mini brownies.

I justified it to myself by saying there was a hurricane coming and I was getting my period. So far so good today, but I'm definitely hungry and craving somehting, I'm not sure what, and I wasn't getting those feelings before I had that first beer.

bran · 26/09/2004 19:49

I didn't know that mini brownies could ward of hurricanes Kate. Perhaps I should get a stock in just in case.

Did the hurricane come near you? Florida has really been very unlucky this year, and there's still a couple of months of hurricane season to go. It looked bad on the news here .

KateandtheGirls · 26/09/2004 20:46

Ha, ha, ha Bran.

It didn't work anyway. The hurricane has just passed overhead. It looks like a couple of trees have been knocked down, but it's not too bad here.

I've been very good diet-wise today, but if I get word of a post-hurricane party in the neighborhood that could all change!
