Link to previous month here: Half a stone (or 3kg) for July http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3624800-half-a-stone-or-3kg-for-july

Hello everyone! Old timers, newbies, lurkers and anyone I've missed and welcome to the Half a stone challenge for August!

Everyone welcome regardless of what diet or exercise plan you are following.

All I ask is positivity and support for all of us (and someone to follow me around and steer me away from the Greggs vegan rolls please).

I'm currently on holiday until Saturday so will weigh in then and let you all know the damage as my starting weight for August.

Much love x

Hi friends - just checking in. I am up in Scotland for a week, away from my normal scales and trying to cope with my mum's quite heavy (and delicious) cooking. So far, I am doing a reasonable job I think but won't be back at home until Wednesday next week to see for sure.... fingers crossed!

HollyTheHarrier · 12/08/2019 19:12

Including my dinner (which I haven’t eaten yet but have planned) I have 100 calories left. I might add some more veggies to make it up. I’m about to go for a run but going to try to avoid eating extra. I’m over on sugar which is annoying though

bluebeck · 12/08/2019 19:36

Weighed myself today as everyone else was!

12.0 so I have a starting weight.

Excited to start new regime so embarked on the 16:8 despite getting up at 5.30 for a 12 hour day. I was amazed that I felt fine without breakfast and I didn't eat anything until 13.30. I did have two cups of tea with soya milk. To be honest I probably could have gone on longer but was worried about fainting (low blood pressure). I just had a plain ham sandwich on wholemeal bread.

Then came home to low cal dinner - two low fat sausages with kale and carrots ( I cooked the veg yesterday) and I still have 485 of my 1200 calories left.

In other news my fitbit has arrived so I am going to wear that tomorrow and check my steps properly. Also very excited to analyse my sleep, which is often very odd.

Keep on being Losers!!!

Ihatesundays · 12/08/2019 21:05

A low calorie food day for me. I’ve put down 1200 but I think I was being generous and 2200 butn d on my fit bit. however I am going out for pizza for lunch tomorrow.
Did day 4 of my 5 day fitness blender workout.
DH says I have gotten results the fastest I have ever tried. I am frustrated though as I would like to see it on the scales. Toning and shrinking with exercise is one thing, but I carry most of my weight on my lower half and need to drop pounds too.

@bluebeck I am also doing 16:8. I’m not finding it an issue. I can’t say I am having great success however the only difference I have had to make is not eating one small bowl of bran flakes in the morning!

Ihatesundays · 12/08/2019 21:07

Oh but I keep forgetting to say - since June I have gotten my resting heart rate down from 76 to 68 bpm!

OhTheRoses · 12/08/2019 21:09

I was 1.5lb down at ww. Terrible day at work though, DH in France, so drinking his whisky. Just me and DS at home now. Roll on Monday! DS hands in his diss on 21st so will follow.

cricketmum84 · 12/08/2019 21:42

I ate half a tub of pringles for lunch whilst working from home.

I only meant to have 3 or 4 but like the 90s adverts once I popped.....

Had my salad that I had made for lunch for dinner instead.

I really really want to be another pound down tomorrow but I don't think it's gonna happen now. I'm only 1lb away from a 5 stone loss since Christmas!!

BrillyPribble · 12/08/2019 21:54

I somehow had a burger and fries for lunch and pizza for tea today cricketmum so you're not alone! Still roughly within calories, amazingly.

OhTheRoses · 12/08/2019 22:11

Well @cricketmum84 I have heard tell that pringles and krispy Kreams (sp) are coated with cocaine. But hey you had your salad for supper Grin.

Five stone. Even 4st 13lb is awesome. >>mumsnet bow

cricketmum84 · 12/08/2019 22:21

@OhTheRoses haha I would rather they were coated with speed 😂

I can't wait to get to 5 stone!! Still 8 to go until I get to my target but it feels like such a huge milestone!!

@BrillyPribble it's gonna be one of those "draw a line" type days I think. No more pringles for me!!!

I’m down 4 stone since I started my diet, been maintaining that for the last 4 months and now I’m ready to kick the last 21lbs. Lost 3lbs so far. Goal weight is just under 12 stone I think

OhTheRoses · 12/08/2019 22:39

What do you get at ww for 5st? Free membership for life I hope!

Daisychainsgetbroken · 12/08/2019 23:16

@OhTheRoses so true about kk and pringles!

Tanaqui · 13/08/2019 06:01

One advantage of being unable to eat gluten is i can't eat pringles! (Or KK in fact- i miss doughnuts more than pringles). Fingers crossed for that last lb Cricket- have you got a treat planned? I'm thinking of a massage once I lose 7lb.

10st2.3 this morning, so 1.7lb this week - pleased with that. Scales haven't gone up at all either which is nice, although I know that's a hazard of daily weighing! Really want to get back under 10 so that is keeping me motivated at the moment. Have a lovely Tuesday!

cricketmum84 · 13/08/2019 06:35

Well I'm up a pound as expected. That'll teach me!! I didn't even have any of the chocolate that DH opened last night.

@OhTheRoses I think you get a little keyring charm if you go to the meetings but I'm just an online member so don't get anything like that. I may treat myself to a bottle of Prosecco if I get there by Friday though.

Plan for today is a banana for breakfast when I get to work, salad with feta and mixed seeds for lunch and chickpea curry drink dinner.

No snacks and no bloody pringles!!!

Wishing everyone a low fat and happy Tuesday!

cricketmum84 · 13/08/2019 06:36

*chickpea curry FOR dinner

OP posts:
OhTheRoses · 13/08/2019 07:09

I must confess I was imagining a special chickpea drink and thinking it may be quite thick and highly textured.

Just had total and a banana
Lunch will be salad
Pork chops , salad and cous cous for supper

3/4lb less than yesterday morning.

cricketmum84 · 13/08/2019 07:25

@OhTheRoses I think that would be pretty rank 😂😂

OP posts:
OhTheRoses · 13/08/2019 07:31

@cricketmum84* Yes, I got a key ring charm for 7lb and 14lb but for 5 stone I think anyone, especially you, deserves at least a car to put their charms on.

LooseAtTheSeams · 13/08/2019 08:03

Cricket can you imagine a chickpea curry smoothie?!😆 I am sending positive vibes for you to hit your target loss by Friday - you are awesome! Start planning those treats!
I am not going to weigh myself today as I had a lovely evening at a friend's and we were drinking Prosecco. So I think I'll wait until after tomorrow's run.

Ihatesundays · 13/08/2019 08:31

Finally a tiny loss of 0.2kg today - hopefully the start of something after being stuck for weeks and weeks.

Going out for pizza today though - oops!

3dogs2cats · 13/08/2019 10:30

Yesterday I weighed 103.6 kilos, heavierthan I’ve been since June.
Today it 102.2. I know these variations are fairly meaningless, but if I don’t weigh daily, I assume I’m losing kilos with every breath.
So holiday is over and I’m back on track . Under a hundred by September.

Vebrithien · 13/08/2019 13:51

Afternoon all.
Am hoping I am now the other side of this latest MMC, as yesterday I didn't feel pregnant, for the first time in ages. Just waiting on a BFN tomorrow morning, 2 weeks post surgery.
Slipped up on some Viennese thins yesterday, but then only had 40g of pasta for dinner to help cancel it out.
Today I've had 1 protein wheatabix with milk, raisins and a banana.
Lunch was a Philly sandwich (one slice of brown bread) a few chips and an orange. This was meant to be DD's lunch, but she insisted I share!
Dinner is cashew nut couscous with salad and maybe a Quorn fillet.
My NSV was trying on a size 18 top, and it being too big, so ended up with a 16 top and 18 trousers (in the sale for our holiday). Last time I went abroad, I was in a 22 top and a 24 trousers.
I even have a size 18 swimsuit (swim dress)!

Ihatesundays · 13/08/2019 15:04

I’ve had pizza and chocolate buttons already today. I think if I eat something small for dinner (what though?) I should be okay....
Day 5 of my 5 day fitness blender workout to compete tonight!

BrillyPribble · 13/08/2019 17:06

Back to work today, my one pair of size 16 work trousers were pleasingly loose-fitting! Just finished day 5 of my 30 day exercise challenge, a tough tabata workout but so pleased I got to the end of it! The sessions are only 15 minutes long but high intensity.
Hoping for some more movement on my official weigh in day tomorrow, everything feels like it's going so well at the moment.
