Link to previous month here: Half a stone (or 3kg) for July http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3624800-half-a-stone-or-3kg-for-july

Hello everyone! Old timers, newbies, lurkers and anyone I've missed and welcome to the Half a stone challenge for August!

Everyone welcome regardless of what diet or exercise plan you are following.

All I ask is positivity and support for all of us (and someone to follow me around and steer me away from the Greggs vegan rolls please).

I'm currently on holiday until Saturday so will weigh in then and let you all know the damage as my starting weight for August.

Much love x

Managed 16:8 for second day without any issues so will pursue this as it is having a huge impact on my total intake. Only 860 so far so deffo won't go over 1000 even I have a Muller Light later.

Well done to everyone who is shifting weight - I lost another lb so am 11:13 now. Isn't it funny how those milestones mean so much?

For those who are stuck, keep going. Even half a pound of fat is the same as a pack of butter so it's a lot!!

cricketmum84 · 13/08/2019 20:47

I've had literally no interest in food today. Had 2 coffees this morning, my salad is still in my bag. Couldn't think of anything I wanted for dinner so lovely DH made me a mushroom chilli. I then felt awful as I only managed a little bit.

Had a really bad anxiety day and had to leave work an hour early Cos I was almost at panic attack stage. It always really affects my stomach and my appetite.

lightlypoached · 13/08/2019 22:17

@cricketmum84 about a third of the body's nerve endings are in the digestive system so it's no wonder that anxiety stops you wanting to eat.

Tomorrow is another day and one day of not eating is not an issue. Try some relaxation exercises (I can recommend Pzizz app for sleep and I'm told that headspace is brilliant too).

You're doing so well. Keep going. Plan another day of good food tomorrow and our one foot in front of the other.

Sleep well. X

cricketmum84 · 13/08/2019 22:46

@lightlypoached thankyou lovely.

I'm honestly so tense. Just realised that my headache is so bad because my jaw is clenched so tight. Thought I was doing really well with no mirtazapine withdrawal but it's kicking me in the girl bits today. Every muscle in my body is aching.

I'll have a look at the apps and give them a go at work tomorrow. I've got to do 121s with my team but can then stick headphones on for a bit and zone out. I've got so so much work to get through. It's gonna be hard to get through the day without a Costa and a vegan roll!!!

Tanaqui · 14/08/2019 05:52

That sounds tough Cricket, I hope you got a good night's sleep.

10st2.8 this morning but I was braced for it going up. I'd stopped the 16:8 for a couple of heavy work days, so will try to get back to that today. I did avoid the chocolate treats at our last coffee break yesterday so that was good- but so hard! I kept thinking just one... Good luck to you all today.

cricketmum84 · 14/08/2019 06:18

Morning all, managed to sleep last night and woken up feeling slightly less anxious. Still aching like mad though and clenching my jaw.

On the plus side my weight this morning was 20st 1!!!!!! So that's another 3lbs off!! I am literally melting away.

That's 12lbs for this month so far and it means I've hit 5 stone loss since Christmas!! (5 stone 1lb). Shouldn't be long before I'm in the 19s. Haven't been there for a good couple of years!!

Plan for today is:
B - strawberries
L - some sort of vegan wrap from Morrison's
D - crispy quorn fillet and salad

No snacks or wine.

Happy Wednesday! And have a lovely day x

Cricket that is bloody amazing, well done! I can't imagine how hard things are for you right now, but sending best wishes.

My HCG test this morning had the faintest of second lines, certainly the lightest it's been, so am hopeful that the surgery has worked. Will test again at the weekend.

Had a good day yesterday, and my official weigh-in this morning is 92.9kg. I am VERY happy with this. 1.5 more kg and I will just be overweight, rather than obese (and was in the super-obese category in March).

So, that is 18.1 kg loss since April, and 1.6kg loss in August so far (though I think I've gained and lost the same kilo at least once!)
1.5 kg to just overweight, or 1 kg to 3 stone loss. Will keep telling myself that when I'm near treats in the supermarket!

BrillyPribble · 14/08/2019 07:22

Morning all, well done cricketmum and verbrithien, you are both doing absolutely brilliantly especially considering what a tough time you've both had.
Official weigh in for me today is 13st 1lb, 20lb loss so far! (Since May) This month is 3lb so far. Still aiming to break into the 12s this month, maybe even this week. Then next target is 12 st 7 which puts me in the normal BMI category

Fluffiest · 14/08/2019 07:22

Congratulations on the loss cricket and I hope that today is a better day for you.

My scales are still in need of batteries so I'm feeling a bit blind in this. No snacking yesterday but I didn't really cut down on my portions and I haven't been moving as much I should. (I'm reading a good book and I'm in the zone that I don't want to do anything but read) I did push myself to get a run in last night though.

It looks like it's going to be a rainy day today so not great for getting out and moving. My three year old says she wants to go to a cafe - my little enabler! I think whatever we do I should get batteries for the scales, I need to know my numbers!

Ihatesundays · 14/08/2019 11:30

@cricketmum84 5 stone wow!!

No change for me but I did have a 1000 calorie pizza yesterday. Completed day 5 of my 5 day workout yesterday so today I am having a rest!

LooseAtTheSeams · 14/08/2019 11:43

Cricket hope you're having a much better today! You and Verbrithien are amazing!
Weight down a bit today but gave up on running as it's raining. Trying to sort out house instead. It's an even worse tip now than when I started!

sheshootssheimplores · 14/08/2019 11:58

So I’m 12lb down now as of today. I’m delighted Grin

HollyTheHarrier · 14/08/2019 12:46

Well done to all you losers @cricketmum84 @verbrithien @sheshoots 😆

I’ve stuck to plan so far this week and am feeling good although have been a bit hungry. No movement at all on scales. Trying to be sanguine about it - if I stick to plan and do some exercise I should be running a deficit of 500-1000 calories per day, so there’s no way that isn’t going to do something eventually. Whether my body needs time to adapt, or I’m building muscle, or just retaining water I don’t know. Plus, this is for my health and I feel better for it, and will feel better still if I keep going

PeriComoToes · 14/08/2019 13:02

OMG just realised that my last weigh in of 13st 8 on Monday takes me out of the obese category and into the overweight one

Haven't weighed since then as had big day/night Monday and terrible hangover comfort eating yesterday. Last weigh in before holiday on Friday so will be happy if I haven't put any on.

cricketmum84 · 14/08/2019 17:26

Hope nobody minds but I'm going to share my picture comparison.

71lbs difference. I can't even believe the difference in photos.

Pic on the left is on holiday last October. Pic on the right is earlier this month (so I'm even thinner now!!!)

And yes I've bought the Prosecco :)

Half a stone (or 3kg) off for August!!

LooseAtTheSeams · 14/08/2019 18:46

Wow! Cricket you look lovely in your sunflower outfit! You so deserve your Prosecco!⭐️
I must have used up a fair number of calories creating chaos in the house aka 'having a sort-out' today!

sheshootssheimplores · 14/08/2019 19:04

Fabulous cricket, well done 👊🥰

BrillyPribble · 14/08/2019 19:24

Fab cricket! Love the sunflower outfit! And is that Tom Jones you are standing next to?!?

cricketmum84 · 14/08/2019 19:24

@BrillyPribble it's Benidorm Tom 😂 fabulous tribute act!

OP posts:
3dogs2cats · 14/08/2019 20:05

Wow just wow. Well done all of you. I’ve worked out so hard this week that my muscles are really stiff. Couldn’t do much at yoga today. But I hav3 also been keeping the calories down. So weird, feel he cold more!

HollyTheHarrier · 14/08/2019 21:11

Finally got the scales to show a loss! Probably just dehydration as I’ve just run 4 miles and done body pump, but I’ll take it for now!

Tanaqui · 15/08/2019 05:56

The scales moving is so encouraging isn't it Holly, even though I know feeling better and being healthier is more important! It just helps you KOKO!

Wow Cricket, you look amazing (and so young and pretty!)! And congrats to every one wirh significant numbers. I hope the house looks great today Loose- I often lose heart when I get halfway and then it looks worse!

10st2 this morning so I am happy! So want to be under 10! Good luck to you all today.

cricketmum84 · 15/08/2019 07:18

Morning all :)

No change in weight today. Plan went totally off yesterday!! I had blackberries for breakfast, then at lunchtime got a small roll with cheese and salad, managed half of it, then found 2 half price sea bass in Morrison's so cooked them for dinner for me and DH, just had a salad of pea shoots and tomatoes with it. Even with the Prosecco I've come in under ww points for the day.

Don't really have much of a plan for today, might call in the shops before work and get some sort of fruit salad for this morning, I've got a little bread roll for lunch with some salad. I'm alone this evening as DH and DD are off to the rugby while I get my nails done. No idea what I'll do for tea. I've got a portion of lentil Dahl (zero points) in the freezer so might just heat that up and have it with a couple of poppadoms.

Hope everyone has a lovely Thursday! The weekend is inching closer!!!

HollyTheHarrier · 15/08/2019 08:12

Yes exactly @Tanaqui. Well done to you! Amazing result and under 10st is so close!

Ihatesundays · 15/08/2019 09:34

I lost 0.1kg today - I’m glad the scales are so sensitive or I would see nothing!
Going out with DC and having a picnic but won’t eat loads. I’m strangely off sweet foods at the moment anyway.
