Link to previous month here: Half a stone (or 3kg) for July http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3624800-half-a-stone-or-3kg-for-july

Hello everyone! Old timers, newbies, lurkers and anyone I've missed and welcome to the Half a stone challenge for August!

Everyone welcome regardless of what diet or exercise plan you are following.

All I ask is positivity and support for all of us (and someone to follow me around and steer me away from the Greggs vegan rolls please).

I'm currently on holiday until Saturday so will weigh in then and let you all know the damage as my starting weight for August.

Much love x

Afternoon all.
After a much needed visit back to my parents and sister, I've had a slight gain this week (94kg now) and made the mistake of icing DD's birthday cake today whilst hungry. So caved in and had frosting and cake trimmings for lunch Blush
However, whilst the MC isn't fully over, am feeling in a better place mentally, so I'll take a slight gain this week.
If I could get to 92kg in the 15 days we have until going on holiday, I will be very happy.

AdventureTravelDreamer · 08/08/2019 22:17

Hi all, good couple of days food wise and and loss of 1.2 - 1.5lbs in week 1 (can't remember exact starting weight) so I am happy with that. I am off work for 2 weeks with the kids now so hopefully I will be able to keep it up then too.

Bloody exhausted after a few crazy and very long days at work so am in bed already hence short post!

lightlypoached · 08/08/2019 22:26

Just shared this with my DS for dinner ShockWink

Holy Moses.

Jealous Lightlypoached you are on holiday yes?

I've had a good couple of days and am feeling much better. My face looks better, fresher. Does anyone else notice a difference in their skin when they've had a good run without booze/processed food?

Millie2017 · 08/08/2019 22:40

@lightlypoached wow! Looks awesome!
@Vebrithien glad to hear you’ve had a bit of tlc with family
I’m closing the kitchen. Over ate tonight. It started with a rolo desert that I brought ‘for the kids’ and ended with a bag of Doritos and dip. Oh dear. I feel bloated.
Hope everyone else made wiser choices tonight!

Ihatesundays · 08/08/2019 22:44

Hormonal driven diet for last few days and now bloated!
However I am wearing my favourite PJ bottoms and DH laughed his head off because they look like ‘clown pants’ they are now so enormous. Really wishing I had measured myself!

Christmastreeohchritmastree · 08/08/2019 22:56

wow you guys are an inspiration. I have tried to stick to diets so many times already this year and failed every time. I have 2st to loose. I'm away at the moment but I was 10st5 when at home so my aim is to go home lighter than that! I have to actually shift this weight and stop just talking about it. I'm only short to 10 st 5 puts me as very overweight Shock

cricketmum84 · 09/08/2019 06:29

Morning all, we were a quiet bunch yesterday weren't we?

I'm back to weighing everyday, I think it keeps me more accountable. 20st 7 this morning so that's another 2lbs off, 6lbs so far for August and I'm below pre-holiday weight! Don't know what I'm doing different but it seems to be melting off this month!

Plan for today is:
B - coffee and a satsuma
L - cucumber and tomato salad with feta and mixed toasted seeds
D - out at the rugby tonight so we are doing pub tea. Have checked the menu online and think I'm going for a sweet chilli salmon salad.

Leaves enough points for a couple of beers at the game.

Happy Friday everyone! Hope it's a good one despite the miserable weather!

@Fluffiest that's fab well done!

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut I tend to follow portion advice on ww app for carbs, hard cheese should be no more than a 20g portion or the size of a matchbox, I don't restrict portions on veggies though as they are all zero points.

@Vebrithien good to hear you are doing better x

@Ihatesundays yep me too! I've just got photos to go on Cos I didn't want to measure at the beginning.

@Christmastreeohchritmastree hope you are having a lovely time away!

Last day of holiday - have to pack up and go home this morning - sniff! Ate quite a bit more in the last couple of days but total wine consumption for the week was very low so I'm hoping the scales will be kind tomorrow morning! (And ignore the crisps!) I did a lot of walking yesterday as well so hopefully have been using calories rather than just consuming them!

Tanaqui · 09/08/2019 07:27

I prefer to weigh every day too- 10st 3 again today. I'm going out for lunch, but to a fancy salad place- won't be very low cal but should be healthy! Then need to try and avoid after work drinks and nibble in favour of my mackerel fillet that needs eating!

That platter looks amazing @lightlypoached, where are you?

Fluffiest · 09/08/2019 07:33

Morning, I had a mixed day yesterday. I ate the last of my chocolate stash at work and I'm not going to restock it. And couldn't be bothered to cook properly last night so had chicken nuggets and chips with DD. Blush

But I did go for a run and didn't have an evening snack, even when DH had some buttered toast and it smelt so good!

Christmastreeohchritmastree That was my starting point in May! I'm also a shortie. I've lost a stone since joining this thread so I hope it works it's magic on you too.

Ihatesundays · 09/08/2019 08:15

So today I have lost a grand total of 0.1kg to finally get to 76kg.
Annoyed it wasn’t just under 75!!

Getting under 70 is going to take forever!

cricketmum84 · 09/08/2019 08:34

Oh boo @LooseAtTheSeams the end of holidays is just the worst. Enjoy your last day x

@PeriComoToes nope just an ordinary dinner at home Grin (sensible answer:hols in a titchy french seaside town with no british in sight Wink)

Off to do yoga to compensate. Then Nutella for breakfast

BrillyPribble · 09/08/2019 08:55

Small NSV here this morning - I go back to work next week after 5 weeks off and all my work clothes are too big for me! I've had to order a couple of pairs of trousers in a size down otherwise they'll be falling down all day.

Vebrithien · 09/08/2019 10:20

Big NSV for me today. Tried on the dress I was going to wear for DD's birthday cake tomorrow (I wore it for her baptism 10 months ago).
It is absolutely hanging off of me!
Amazing feeling, but crap! WHAT AM I going to wear tomorrow? Got a household emergency at home, so have to stay in today, and don't have Prime.
Will post photo in a moment.

BrillyPribble · 09/08/2019 11:25

@verbrithien do you have a next account? They deliver next day on orders up to 10pm I think it is.

PeriComoToes · 09/08/2019 13:59

Lots of great NSV here. I have a SV that I'd like to share to anyone about to embark on a heavy weekend.

Was 3.8lbs up on Monday from the previous Monday (4.8lbs if you include the pound off that was showing from my pre weekend weigh in). Got back on track (ish) Tuesday then had a cracking two days and this morning I'm weighing in at 13.8 which means I'm now a pound under my pre weekend weigh in and 2.2lbs down from the Monday before last.

Fuck that was complicated. The upshot is that the massive weight gain I had was all water. So glad for this thread or I would have probably given up after that shocker weigh in.

Still only 2.2lbs off this month but certainly better than a 5lb gain.

Lightlypoached tres bon

PeriComoToes · 09/08/2019 14:00

vebri can you belt the dress?

sheshootssheimplores · 09/08/2019 14:00

A pound off this morning 👊. Was on a stall for four days but stuck with it and got my pay off. That’s 8lb off now in two weeks with intermittent fasting. I think I might have finally found something I can do!!

Vebrithien · 09/08/2019 14:18

That moment took longer than expected!
Here is my NSV. Dress was rather snug last October.

Half a stone (or 3kg) off for August!!
Vebrithien · 09/08/2019 14:21

Peri is is really big across the top, not just at the waist

Vebrithien · 09/08/2019 14:38

So, do I wear dress 1 - full length pinky peach wrap around.

Half a stone (or 3kg) off for August!!
