Well mine aren't great so I wouldn't recommend them. I use a set of old fashioned ones and a set of electric so I can move them around until the results match. That could well be the problem that you're having @neveradullmoment99
My first reading said I was 10st on the old scales, and 8.5 st on the digital. Moved them until they matched and it came out at 9st 7lbs so I'm taking that as an accurate reading 🤷🏻‍♀️

neveradullmoment99 · 16/08/2019 11:14

Yes, my old ones are salter ones but retro large scale but they have terrible reviews for giving inaccurate readings!
I have undoubtedly lost weight. When in Cornwall I bought the linen tunic I am wearing today. I could hardly get it on. It was SO tight. Its now just right on me, everywhere. So somethings not right.
A few years ago, I actually got these scales to replace the digital ones because they were giving me all sorts of readings. Now these refuse to budge weight wise!

Well I am having a treat but not forgoing anything. I wont over do it but a treat is a treat right? I have been good and for nearly 4wks have only broken it once when I was out for lunch. No junk has passed my lips! Everything I have eaten has been 800 calories or slightly more + or - 30.
People cannot eat that and not lose weight right?

Huffthepuff · 16/08/2019 12:16

Definitely @neveradullmoment99 it will have made a massive difference. But Soyyo is right, you might need to trick your body by having some carbs. And ignore the scales. The results are in the way your dress now fits!

neveradullmoment99 · 16/08/2019 12:22

Well its a carby day today as its either fish and chips or a curry!!! [ and maybe some wine!!]

We dont have much in the way of takeaways here on our end of the island . Ithad hought the local (not great )curry house had changed hands ( as it had a new sign up ,) and was looking forward to trying that this evening but it seems its not open for another week..

So as its a rainy day here , I have spent the afternoon making a lamb kofta and aubergine curry.. am looking for ward to it,

At least mine (althoughin no way low fat) has plenty of ' hidden veg' in..
I made the spicy base with grated carrots, celery, and onion and some of our own tomatoes, and the meatballs with grated courgette in (a bit like a spicy version of the Ottolenghni ones I posted above )
I will be having green beans with mine.. and some poppadums, I bought in the supermarket (gotta have those and mango chutney!)

Laska2Meryls · 16/08/2019 17:37

I meant Lamb Keema meatball curry, (a bit more more 'Indian' than Kofta, but kind of the same thing!! Grin)

Huffthepuff · 16/08/2019 17:55

Don't look! My veggie stack meal. It's a lentil burger but instead of the bun it's 2 slices of aubergine. Look at the cheese though... and I did eat a few chips. Plus 3 glasses of wine! Definitely a cheat day 🤗

Laska2Meryls · 16/08/2019 18:00

Laska2Meryls · 16/08/2019 18:04

excuse splotty stove..unlike the photos you see on instagram, this is the sign of a chef with no underlings!! Grin

Huffthepuff · 16/08/2019 18:39

Just cheese, no cauliflower. It was packed full of veg, but also high in carbs and fat. But so delicious! Back on it tomorrow...

Huffthepuff · 16/08/2019 18:40

Curry looks delicious Laska 🤤

neveradullmoment99 · 16/08/2019 19:14

Looks like we are all having a night off :)
I definitely have not been good. I had a crunchie! 3 babybels and a packet of mini cheddars. I am hungry and have ordered fish and chip and then some ice cream so its not good today...
For breakfast had yoghurt and fruit, lunch chicken salad but its all gone pear shaped. Im ok with that [well I feel guilty tbh]
But back on the diet tomorrow.

Yup its 'Relax Friday' for all of us it looks like! ..and we deserve it once in a while!

Huff I think they definitely missed a (yummy) trick by not putting cauli cheese on top of that lentil burger. ! I would have !

Curry was yum, v pleased with it ..I didn't have rice (DH did) just the green beans, but I did have 3 poppadoms and have had 2 glasses of Wine ..so far..
Loads of left overs though.. I will most likely portion it up and freeze

neveradullmoment99 · 17/08/2019 08:57

Well the strangest thing happened to me after eating my fish and chips and having some ice cream. I was desperately tired seriously and fell asleep from around 8pm, woke up a few times and just felt so shit and tired that I fell back to sleep everytime. I even got up and washed my face and brushed my teeth and went to bed thinking I wouldn't sleep [ It felt like being in a drugged state!!!!] until I woke in the morning around half past six [ I awoke with my dd too not by myself]. I am shocked as I am never like this. I guess it may have been digesting carbs that I am not used to atm. I felt so sleepy last night. Feel good now. Extremely odd!!!

OP posts:
Huffthepuff · 17/08/2019 09:17

Weird Never... yeah maybe the carbs.
I got a hangover at 10pm. Felt rubbish and went to bed. Still feel rubbish this morning. Bloated and tired.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/08/2019 09:42

It could also be partly work as ive just gone back but I have been off since Wednesday but it is the stress of getting all my own kids back to school!!!
That's a shame your hangover spoiled your night :( Bloated and tired...could be other things...like pregnancy eek!!!

neveradullmoment99 · 17/08/2019 09:43

Although I do put a little semi skimmed milk in my coffee. I do worry it kind of breaks the fast. Does anyone know? I only have the milk in the coffee once. Then its black the other times.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 17/08/2019 09:49

I actually hate black coffee. I may by cream as seemingly that's meant to be better. [ And I love love love cream!!!]

OP posts:
Huffthepuff · 17/08/2019 11:04

I can't drink my tea without milk so I always have it. I can't imagine it makes a difference but I think the hardcore fasters go without. The consensus on the fast 800 thread seemed to be that it was fine to have milk with your tea/coffee in the morning though
