Previous thread here: Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3600209-half-a-stone-off-or-3kg-in-june

Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut looks a bit like my calorie consumption 😫 let's give this last 10 days a kick - even though it's boiling and I'm sweating hot I'm going to do a workout now while kids busy making mess upstairs!

BrillyPribble · 21/07/2019 10:34

Millie2018 it does seem a bit pointless though having no added sugar angel delight then adding marshmallows which are mostly sugar. Couldn't you just have regular angel delight for essentially the same effect?

Went to a mini festival yesterday but only had one pint of cider so still going well here. Packing for holiday today, exciting!

DaisyChainsGetBroken · 21/07/2019 12:08

@BrillyPribble where are you away to?

@Ellieboolou27 always disappointing isn't it when working out so hard but no loss. I tell myself the muscles are burning extra calories and the loss will come soon.

Just been for a cycle this morn because of this thread. Decided to shift instead of sitting about moaning that I've put weight on. Cycled to the shops along a beautiful canal and bought as much healthy stuff as I could ram in my backpack and cycled home.

Ellieboolou27 · 21/07/2019 12:22

@DaisyChainsGetBroken ha ha that's what I'm telling myself muscle weighs more than fat! I am noticing that clothes look / feel better.

6.5st loss is AMAZING total respect to you!

Ellieboolou27 · 21/07/2019 13:06

@cricketmum84 hurray for no extender belt - fantastic, have a great holiday Wine

Ellieboolou27 · 21/07/2019 13:08

@PeriComoToes strange dream GrinI've been shocking with food too, are whole bar of "sharing" aero last night!

Back on track today.

cricketmum84 · 21/07/2019 15:27

Thanks @Ellieboolou27 ! It feels like such an achievement. Last time we flew in October it was a good 8 inches short of fastening. Most mortifying experience of my life. I really don't think I had realised how big I had got.

Had a good day today, it's been mega hot and we've had a lazy pool day. Couple of beers and 2 gins at happy hour. Kids have been snacking on crisps but I didn't have any. Lovely shopska salad for lunch which is my new favourite thing to eat. The tomatoes were just divine. What is it about tomatoes in Europe that makes them taste so much better than the ones at home?? Not sure what I'll be having for dinner but again will try stick to a healthy option!

Hope everyone is doing good and has had a lovely weekend!

I'm sitting in a NT property, very close to a NT cafe, and I'm NOT EVEN TEMPTED TO BUY CAKE.

This is a very novel sensation.

I assume this is how slim people feel all the time.

Weird.

lightlypoached · 21/07/2019 16:23

@MilesJuppIs I said no to cake earlier too. Feels good. But did have eggs and homemade hollandaise sauce for breakfast 😮

Am just sitting here with a rumbly tummy but dinner is only an hour or so away so I'm having water instead Smile, after which I will polish my halo. 😂

Went to yoga this morning but (embarrassingly) ended up in tears. My joints are all a bit iffy (knee pain kept waking me up and my hip and wrists aren't too clever either) and I just couldn't do all the poses. So frustrating. Will keep pushing through it though as I'm not a sitting down doing nothing kind of a person.

Did a gentle 3 mile walk with DH to make up for it and chill out. Pooped and looking forward to dinner.

What's everyone else up to and eating today ?

LooseAtTheSeams · 21/07/2019 17:59

MilesJupp I went for a healthy walk round an NT property today. Loved seeing lots of butterflies. But there was a cafe and DH spotted the vegan magnum and I was weak - I just wanted to try one to see what they're like.
I don't trust ice cream - I can put on weight just looking at it! But hopefully vegan magnums are different!

PeriComoToes · 21/07/2019 18:08

I know right ellie? though better than last night's where I seemed to be continually in tears (in the dream). Not had a great week so I guess I'm working through it. Does anyone else start thinking about crappy stuff when they start loosing weight or is it just me?

Wow cricket what an amazing nsv with the plane seat belt! Would love to hear more about Bulgaria as really fancy it myself (are you going to the big waterpark there?). How's it going with your teen son?

I've lost a pound this week so that's a total of 5lbs so far. 10 days to go til the end of the month so going to really push for the 2lbs.

To the poster who's just joined, welcome. You've done so brilliantly and I totally empathise on the eating crap when you don't feel well. I think a fair few of us have a bit to lose so will be on the August thread (presuming that Cricket's going to set it up??) and beyond.

I've had a nice day, chilling out with DD, mini food shop and then a lovely glass of cold white wine in a quiet courtyard.

I had a pancake with butter this morning but just the one and about half the size that I would normally have (and I'd usually have 2!).
Slice of rye bread with cottage cheese and tomato and carrot for lunch. Again, just the one when ordinarily I would have 2.
Dinner is going to be cannellini beans with little bit of crispy bacon, onion and chard and probably a nectarine.

OhTheRoses · 21/07/2019 18:24

Aah, found you all again having lost you from my feed. Even advanced search didn't work. Phew!

@cricketmum84 - have a wonderful holiday and I was thrilled to hear about IvyCat. I did manage to find that thread in the litter tray.

@verbrithien I am so sorry lovely. It absolutely sucks and I remember all the heartbreak only too well but I am sure your time will come. I had so many losses that sometimes I look back and look at DS and DD and think "well, if what hadn't have been hadn't have been then I wouldn't have these two" but words don't help at times like this and the hurt doesn't stop hurting until it's ready too and I know inside it's all just a fuckety fuck and why me, it's not fair feeling but time will pass and life will almost inevitably evolve into happier times for you. Flowers

Well the diet has been rubbish - have been off the wagon and in the wine vat with far too much entertaining and nights out and just too much desire for some decent and tasty grub. However, steeled myself onto the scales earlier and was bloody relieved that they were 12.10-1/4lb. Not what I wanted on 21st July but after a week of excesses a bloody sight better than it could have been.

Onward into battle you lovely bunch of losers.

BrillyPribble · 21/07/2019 18:31

daisychains we're off to Devon. Fully planning on having a cream tea while we are there but will otherwise stick to plan for the most part!

OhTheRoses · 21/07/2019 18:46

So far today I have had 2 hard boiled eggs and 2 G&Ts (slimline).
Dinner is roast lamb, roasted veg and roasted spud (fresh from the garden - with a little olive oil, salt, pepper, fresh oregano and parmesan).

Fluffiest · 21/07/2019 19:31

Oooh OhTheRoses your dinner sounds amazing! Got room for a gatecrasher at your table? Grin

OhTheRoses · 21/07/2019 19:48

It was delish fluffiest. Just enough left for ds's lunch tomorrow :)

DaisyChainsGetBroken · 21/07/2019 20:48

@brillypribble that sounds lovely hope the weather is fab.

@PeriComoToes thank you. I think when you're ill for a few days the body can forgive that but I've had a good fee weeks of eating crap and it's showing! Put on a skirt today that was very comfy last month and was really digging in today. Would be fab if there was a Aug thread I will defo be there.

I have a week off work now. I am a member of a local gym that does all the les mills classes plus a few other things. Can anyone suggest anything good to try? I've always been quite anxious about classes and feel too fat to go.

@ontheroses hope you enjoyed your dinner. I had some cider...I wish I liked slimline tonic would be much less calorific!Confused

Millie2018 · 21/07/2019 21:26

@brillypribble I only have a few marshmallows to make it feel like a treat!
I always find weekends so hard, especially in the evening. Today has looked like:
B. Wheat biscuits
L. Low fat cheese slice and cucumber roll
D. Mushroom stir fry
Snacks: crisps
Will be glad to see Monday morning. Going to try and have a real push next week as I’ve had 2 consecutive losses of 0.2kg. Would be nice to get closer to a 0.5kg loss in the next week. That’s my aim.

3dogs2cats · 21/07/2019 22:00

I am pleased that other people resisted cake. I do don’t. Victoria sponge at a heritage railway cafe. It did follow a long walk with the dogs tho. Dinner was pot roast with crunchy spuds and lots of veg and a smidgen or a vat of delicious beef gravy.
I have been proper poorly with something viral I think, weird rashes, aching everything and fever.
Tomorrow I have booked 7.30 am HIITs class and a personal trainer session. Really don’t want to cancel. Bought a sports bra!
I need to lose 1.5 pounds to hit the target, but 2 pounds takes me under 100 kilos / 16 stone. That would be so good.

Fluffiest · 22/07/2019 06:57

Monday morning again!

For once I kept to the plan over the weekend so I'm feeling quite angelic today. Halo

I've had cereal for breakfast and have spag bol lined up for this evening. Don't know what to eat for lunch yet.

Got people coming round this evening but going to try and squeeze in a run before they arrive.

Hope everyone has a good final week of July!

Ellieboolou27 · 22/07/2019 07:41

Monday Monday!!! 1.2lb off I'm counting the 0.2 Smile takes me to 5.2 loss for the month and I WILL make it to 7lb for July - will there be an August thread??? This has really helped me.

DeadButDelicious · 22/07/2019 08:23

Morning all! Well after a weekend of having cereal for tea because it was too damn hot to even contemplate cooking anything I'm very pleased with the scales this morning!

Weight at end of June: 123.2kg

1/07/2019: 122.5kg

8/07/2019: 120.6kg

15/07/2019: 121.2kg

22/07/2019: 120.0kg

Loss so far in July: 3.2kg

Weight at beginning of 2019: 142.9kg
Total loss so far: 22.9kg (3.606stones/50.4lbs)

It's going to be hot as balls here over the next few days so I'm going to have to resist the temptation to order in to avoid cooking. Because I really don't want to ruin such a cracking loss this month. Especially with only one weigh in to go.

Hope all is well with you all, I know I've been MIA this month. I've been mad busy. I am rooting for all of you though. We've got this and these threads are so helpful.

HearMeSnore · 22/07/2019 08:32

I've changed my weigh-in day to Saturday because on Mondays I keep forgetting in the general morning kerfuffle of getting everybody ready.

As if this Saturday, total loss = 6.5 lb. Almost there!

lightlypoached · 22/07/2019 08:54

Welcome back @Dead and @roses

After a difficult day yesterday (posted my whinges then so won't repeat) didn't do too well. Today is a fresh start. Have realised that I'm battling depression - it rears it's ugly head periodically until I bash it back down again. Will use this eating plan to bring structure to keep depression under control. Will also battle on with the exercise if my dodgy joints will let me. Writing this makes me sound quite 'Bridget Jones' Grin)

Currently lying in bed with my shoulder twanging and my knee throbbing and all swollen. I really want to do yoga but may settle for some stomach work that doesn't involve limbsGrin

Weight today 61.3/32%

Monday stand back, I'm coming to get you. (Although in reality I just want to sit in bed and cry). Fucking depression.

Good luck everyone

BrillyPribble · 22/07/2019 09:39

Sorry to hear you're battling lightly but hoping keeping structure with healthy eating and exercise helps you.
Checking in with a pre-holiday weigh in of 13st 5lbs (4lb down in July so far!).
