Following on from previous themread and on the lovely @VivaFridas behalf I welcome you all to half a stone off for June!

Welcome to all and good luck for the month ahead. I hereby promise to inject a little enthusiasm into each morning and stay away from the Greggs Vegan rolls.

Old and new joiners welcome, whatever diet or exercise plan you are following. All I ask for is positivity towards others even if we are feeling a bit meh about ourselves.

Who's in and ready for day 1 tomorrow!

@Lookingforpizza
I'm on the 800

I continue to exercise as normal and don't take the exercise into account at all in calorie counting. Ie I work on gross calories in NOT 'I've eaten 1500 but burned 300 so I've only really had 1200'.

From looking at what you are eating the fast800 will change your intake. Sugar is a killer for the 800 as it messes with your insulin levels and therefore your hunger (sugar=insulin surge=hunger trigger = vicious circle ).
Fast800 is all about managing not just calories in but the type of foods.
Cut out the sugar (Alpen has loads as do bananas and obvs Maltesers! ) and include more protein- eggs for brekkie with wilted spinach for example. On exercise days this should help fuel you without needing to add calories. The research seems to show that this a) helps your body to lose the weight and b) is more like to keep it off.

It's hard at first (I love chocolate) but you soon get used to it. I feel better for it actually.

HTH

Crazzzycat · 20/06/2019 12:00

Congrats @Vebrithien That’s excellent news!

@Lookingforpizza it’s not quite the same, but I’m doing 16:8. I initially found it really hard to exercise in my fasting window, but it got much easier pretty fast. I think it helps to let your body get used to fasting a bit first, before adding exercise. Might that work for you?

Right, on to the stats. I can’t actually remember how much I weighed last week, but I’m 77.4 kg now. That’s a total loss of 2.5 kg so far this month.

Lookingforpizza · 20/06/2019 13:32

Thanks @lightlypoached and @Crazzzycat - I definitely don’t eat as much sugar as I used to, but agree a lot more would need to go for something like 800 to work. I’m just trying to work out to balance going low cal against needing to squeeze in long runs to build distance atm, so don’t think I could take a break from exercise to get used to it at the moment.

I’ll think of a low sugar breakfast I can have, I don’t really like to eat too early and don’t have facilities to cook at work. I could probably just have two hard boiled eggs for breakfast and I wouldn’t mind! Maltesers will be a bit more difficult to forego but I can give it a whirl Grin

@lightlypoached are you doing fast 800 every day?

lightlypoached · 20/06/2019 13:37

@Lookingforpizza

My plan in 800 all this week (day 4 so far), coupled with 16:8

I'm basically skipping breakfast most days, very low carb and lots of veggies and protein.

Managing c 750 per day but I'm not doing long runs - just yoga and dance classes plus normal 7-10k steps a day. And all of the up and down escalators on the tube. Grin

I think I'd be tempted to have half a banana ahead of any run 😬

cricketmum84 · 20/06/2019 15:07

God my stress levels are so high at the moment.

DS refuses to go to school Monday and Wednesday. So on Wednesday I confiscated his phone and told him he could have it back once he started going to school. This morning I was the worst mum in the whole world for making him get up. He slammed his door countless time, told me to fuck off countless times and actually faced right up to me when I told him to stop it. I was physically shaking when I got in the car.

It's also that time of the month again (payroll cut off lol) and I have about 3 days work to fit in between now and my deadline on Monday morning so will be working all night.

Am just picking DD up from school and I had promised her a snow cone from the ice cream van that's usually here at school pick up and I've just realised its not here and I'm actually in tears. How stupid is that!! I'm sad because she will be disappointed and she desperately needs something to cheer her up at the moment. I think I'm just overwrought and over emotional and need a big gin and a good shake.

So far today I've had a slice of tiger bread and 2 glasses of water. I literally have no idea how I'm still upright and functioning.

Oh and I've put on a ducking pound!

OP posts:
lightlypoached · 20/06/2019 15:25

@cricketmum84 that sounds rubbish.

Do you have any idea why DS is refusing on those days in particular?

And can I please - mother-like - nag you to eat properly or you will feel shit.
You need a boily egg. A little bit of cheese and some salad leaves with tomato and a dollop of salad cream.

And a cup of tea.

Look after yourself. An empty vessel etc etc.

Your team of dieters is here to look after you Smile

cricketmum84 · 20/06/2019 15:53

@lightlypoached your mum-nag is noted and appreciated :)

It's different days every week. Last week he only went in Wednesday and Thursday, the week before it was Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. This week it's been Tuesday and Thursday. And then when he does actually go in he won't come home until 8pm, switches his phone off, no idea where he is or if he is safe. No wonder my anxiety is so bad, I'm constantly running on high adrenaline and worry! X

LeukaeLucky · 20/06/2019 16:57

@cricketmum84 have you tried NVR? I started a course to support my teen and it's quite effective
At least it helps me to be less anxious /angry. It was a free course and I was referred by cahms
On a dietary note
I've gone back up to 60. I'm calory counting and weighing everything. Been around 800 cal every day and have exercised every other day
Not sure why my body doesn't want to lose weight
I'm off to France tomorrow and I was hoping for some room to stuff myself guilt free but it's not happening (the guilt free, the stuffing however will still happen)

this might help - a refreshing and highly regarded new view on parenting . www.smarterbook.uk/The-Book-You-Wish-Your-Parents-Had-Read_p_104.html

lightlypoached · 20/06/2019 18:10

oops . meant to tag @cricketmum84 in that last post and not hijack the dieting thread. sorry peeps.

lemonbalmtea · 20/06/2019 21:47

I am hovering at 11 stone so 1lb loss again this week.

To be fair, Gouda cheese and macadamia nuts have featured. Will see what Bounce Fit and an Aqua Class bring by Monday!

I had a session at the gym where they measure body composition. I was preparing to be shocked. On the good side, I was about adequately hydrated! My body fat percentage is outside the healthy range, my metabolic rate could be higher and my metabolic age is 15 years above my real age. Food for thought!

What I learned is that to improve those I need to build muscle, so more intensive workouts, strength training etc. On the diet side, I have been reading up that protein uses more calories to digest. I doubt I have the recommended 75g of protein a day, so I am going to try that and see what happens in 4-6 weeks time.

@cricketmum84 BrewBrewCakeCakeGinThanksThanksThanks

Fluffiest · 21/06/2019 06:58

My scales are still saying 9st14, which is really confusing me. Isn't that just 10st?

Anyway I am planning on upping the efforts today, so having a fast day and will run tonight. Will also have a walk at lunch instead of just eating at my desk.

Lookingforpizza · 21/06/2019 07:44

Good morning! I’ve had the overnight whoosh I’ve been waiting for for ages, and I’m officially 78.0kg - which means I’ve lost exactly a stone since 1st May! I’m so so pleased and just wanted to thank you all here as this thread has helped me so much Grin

I’m away over the weekend so will be difficult to stick to any sort of plan but all I can do is just try to be sensible.

@cricketmum84 I don’t have any advice but didn’t want to ignore. I hope you and your DC are okay and just remember to be kind to yourself Flowers

OhTheRoses · 21/06/2019 07:48

12st 12-1/2 this morning. No change here. I think I will have to look at reducing points to 20 or halve my evening meal. Whilst it isn't going up, neither is it going down and I really need to break 12st 11lb by Monday. My weight loss is very very slow, averaging now about 2.5lb a month compared to the fast 7lb in the last two weeks of April. This I think is why people give up. No fuck it Friday this week though which I hope will help.

Very much hope everyone has a good day x

cricketmum84 · 21/06/2019 08:20

Hello my lovelies and welcome to

🔥 Day 21 🔥

The house is a little calmer here. DS mega kicked off when he came home last night and put two new holes in his bedroom wall and one in his door. DH is absolutely raging, DD was terrified. I'm just caught in the middle of it all. He has gone to my mums until Sunday as he was threatening to run away again if he couldn't go there so I just gave in to give us all some peace.

@OhTheRoses my losses have totally stalled, don't really know where I'm going wrong!

@Lookingforpizza whoop well done!!!

@Fluffiest yes that is confusing!! Surely that's just 10 stone?

Today's plan is:
B - water and coffee
L - boily egg, salad leaves and tomato (looking at you @lightlypoached )
D - haven't quite decided yet, DH and DS want pizza. Any ideas for something quick, healthy, cheap and vegetarian??

Hope everyone has a lovely Friday. Success is the whole journey, not just the destination!!

Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June

60.7 for me today. 😬

That's 2.7 off since may 24th. Almost at my june goal.

I don't look much different but according to the science I've lost visceral fat (the evil stuff that sits inside and around your organs that you can't see).

And the sun is shining.

Good work @cricketmum84 For the boily egg plan. Who doesn't feel better after a boily egg ? Smile

Have a good day everyone

DirtyDennis · 21/06/2019 09:30

Weighed myself this morning and I've lost 1lb since last Friday which is pretty good considering I went a bit nuts with food/drink last weekend, had a big lunch at work on Tuesday and haven't done as much exercise as I could've done.

Today's plan is:
B: Cornflakes (100 Cal)
L: Not sure yet but no more than 400 Cal
T: Vegetable one-pot (400 Cal)
Snacks: Biscuits (200 cal)

I've walked two miles and been for a 20 minute swim this morning already

Next week I really really need to hit it hard. I've got a coffee morning on Monday where there'll be lots of cake but that's fine, I'll skip lunch.
Then Wednesday I also have a catered lunch which will be lovely (good catering). I'll be careful and might just have cornflakes for tea that day.
I need to be on about 1000 every day Monday-Saturday next week so I can hit my target weight by Saturday 6th July (3lbs to go)

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 21/06/2019 09:35

Morning!

Beautiful morning here. Been for a run, which means for once I've actually achieved my target of three runs in a week.

My lovely mum is taking me out for lunch today. This is good, as I can choose my own food. She is a classic feeder!

So I'll have some kind of hot lunch, then Delia's moussaka with couscous for dinner.

I'm off booze atm, so might have some dark chocolate as a Friday treat.

cricketmum84 Thanks for you: that sounds tough. I have a teenage boy: it's very hard when they're bigger than you and they're angry!

Have a good day everyone.

LeukaeLucky · 21/06/2019 11:35

On my way to Paris so will be back crying on Monday.
Have a lovely weekend people x

BrillyPribble · 21/06/2019 12:52

Oh cricketmum, that sounds so endlessly stressful, 💐 for you. I'm impressed you are managing to put one foot in front of the other, let alone thinking about dieting.
leukaeLucky, have a fab weekend!
What a lovely day at last! So nice to see the sun for a change.

cricketmum my fallback is always lentil dhal, you just need red lentils, tomatoes, stock, spices. Ideally some coconut milk or natural yoghurt but it's not essential.

Lookingforpizza · 21/06/2019 13:06

Needed to buy a dress for an occasion today so thought I’d be brave and try a 12 and a 14 - and the 12 fit perfectly!!!! I can’t remember the last time I fit into a size 12 dress. I’m so bloody pleased. Bought a size 12 skirt from a different shop too Grin today is a good day!

lightlypoached · 21/06/2019 13:08

@LeukaeLucky have a wonderful weekend.

@Lookingforpizza - yay ! How bloody marvellous Grin

I've just harvested the 1st strawberries from my garden. Snack for later. 🍓

Millie2018 · 21/06/2019 13:30

Well I was like a crazy woman at Zumba last night and sweated for the entire hour!
Weighed in this morning and I’ve lost 1.3kg this week. Over the moon with that loss, but I am still feeling a bit faint at times. I’m eating lots of healthy foods but might have to up my carbs due to all the exercise.
Going to try and squeeze in another Zumba class tomorrow morning.
I have a wedding I’m going to in July that I need a dress for. Still feels a bit too early to be buying that.
My plan for today was weetabix for breakfast, but the kids had the last of the milk, so I had fruit instead.
Was supposed to be doing a salad for lunch but couldn’t be arsed in the end so just had the topping! Will have a sausage and pasta bake for dinner.
Have a good day everyone.
