Following on from previous themread and on the lovely @VivaFridas behalf I welcome you all to half a stone off for June!

Welcome to all and good luck for the month ahead. I hereby promise to inject a little enthusiasm into each morning and stay away from the Greggs Vegan rolls.

Old and new joiners welcome, whatever diet or exercise plan you are following. All I ask for is positivity towards others even if we are feeling a bit meh about ourselves.

Who's in and ready for day 1 tomorrow!

Thanks for the welcome cricket
Mostly good day yesterday, just had a few new potatoes with dinner as I was super hungry, so came in at about 950 calories.

Today...
Yoghurt and mango
"Breakfast sushi" ( a wrap, with a one egg omelette and yellow peppers, rolled and sliced into "sushi" rounds)
Pinto bean pasta

That leaves enough calories over that I can have a biscuit with my revision class today, or a piece of chocolate tonight.

Keep on keeping on everyone!

Morning all and hello ❤️ Day 11 ❤️

Short one from me this morning as I'm rushing around getting ready for work. The teenager still isn't up... I'm annoyed because the school welfare officer came out to see him while I was at work yesterday but nobody bothered to let me know so obviously DS didn't answer the door to him.

Today is:
B - banana and water and may nip down to costa for an iced coconut milk latte
L - vegan cream cheese and rocket in a tiger roll, free from coconut yoghurt
D - 2 LM sausages, grilled mushrooms and tomatoes

Right I had best go find a dress that doesn't make me look the size of a house and try rouse DS again!

Wishing us all a calm and productive day!

Hi all, I’m back! Went a bit off the rails at the weekend (Booze and meals out) but had a good day yesterday. Back to meal planning and trying 5:2 this week.

peanutbutterismydownfall · 11/06/2019 07:45

A truly disasterous day yesterday but it's only having entered it into MFP that I have had this sudden flash of insight into why I don't lose weight as I binge like this probably once a fortnight and so have to spend the rest of the fortnight creating a calorie deficit just to maintain my weight. It's only writing it down that I realise quite how bad it is whereas when I'm doing it, I'm just thinking "it's only one more biscuit".

Woke up starving still from the night before
B - oats, water & yogurt. Then 2x boiled eggs as still so hungry
L - lasagne Blush with roasted veg, a small piece of garlic bread & salad
At work that afternoon - oat bars, Jammie Dodger, square of cake
Immediately after work - square of trayback, rocky road, 5 x Jaffa mini bites, galaxy caramel Easter egg
Went to the gym
Post gym - lemon curd yogurt, 4 party rings.

The thing is, I'm not sure how to stop it. Yesterday, I felt as though the only thing which would satisfy my hunger was cake. As I write that, I think I needed some solid food. At work, the options were limited so perhaps I need to consider having something in my desk. At home, going immediately for something more substantial - like a cheese sandwich - would have had more initial calories but fewer overall.

LeukaeLucky · 11/06/2019 07:56

Forgot to post my meal
BF: nectarine
L: steak with mixed salad and tomatoes with one slice of bread
D: nectarine, grapes, watermelon, mini cheddar and 2 custard cream biscuits

peanutbutter protein and complex carbs are your friends here, so your breakfast was perfect. When you got home, you did what I have often done - eaten one thing that led to another and another and another! You are much better off having something satiating than sugary, as that just makes you want more. Remember also that hunger comes in waves, it will pass if you give it a chance. Have a hot drink, phone a friend, do something that needs doing around the house - distract yourself and wait and see how you feel. Set a timer on your phone perhaps and say I'll have it in 20 mins if I still want it.

Lookingforpizza · 11/06/2019 08:11

Morning all! The weekend bloat has come back off so I’m back to 79 this morning. I’m feeling really motivated this week so hoping for a good loss. I’m also starting to build up to running a 10k as DP seems pretty insistent that we’re doing two races in a couple of months...

Today’s food:
B: Alpen and yoghurt
L: Chicken salad
D: Salmon, rice and chilli sauce
Snacks: Banana, maltesers and hot chocolate.

That brings me in to around 1150, and I should have a good deficit today!

Hope everyone has a good day, keep up the good work! Grin

Wellthatwastricky · 11/06/2019 08:13

I'm so sorry to hear of the MH struggles some of you are facing. I've had some bouts of depression this year, it makes daily life, let alone dieting, very hard. No advice, but sending well wishes.

Peanut, I think the important thing is to recognise your downfalls by tracking on MFP and then put in place contingencies eg I used to have small weighed servings of seeds to eat at work so I didn't eat biscuits. I meal plan now otherwise it gets to dinner time and I end up cooking chips because I didn't plan anything else 🙈

Well, weigh in day today, and by some miracle despite appalling eating I've lost 2lbs! Absolutely thrilled. Just makes me wonder, if I didn't have my lax days how much better I might do?

OhTheRoses · 11/06/2019 08:47

Well the 13st threshold remained broken this morning after a big dinner last night of spag bol and salad. Praying it is permanent.

Flowers for all of you struggling with MH yourselves and on behalf of others. I've done the journey with dd and it's soul destroying but there is often light at the end of the tunnel. I'm a v difficult few years with dd resulted in my two stone gain, due largely to the numbing effects of wine o'clock.

cricketmum84 · 11/06/2019 09:44

@peanutbutterismydownfall I really shouldn't laugh but your day reminds me of the hungry caterpillar 😂

Great advice on eating more protein and complex carbs, have you tried having a bigger lunch like a baked sweet potato with chilli or bolognaise to reduce the hunger pangs when you get home? Try reaching for fruit instead of biscuits. I know I know it's just not the same but we have summer to think about here!!

Stitchosaurus · 11/06/2019 09:45

0.4lb off today - so close to getting below 12 stone now, am hoping I’ll be there tomorrow.

Today’s food
B: coffee with milk
L: tuna with mayo, balsamic vinegar and 4 ryvita
D: tandoori chicken with broccoli
S: flapjack, pineapple, carrot and salsa

I had terrible PND when DS was born and was definitely medicating with food...took me years to lose the baby weight...it’s so hard when you’re struggling - big hug to everyone coping with MH issues.

DeadButDelicious · 11/06/2019 09:47

Morning all! Firstly, thank you for all the kind words. It means so much. I'm ok, honestly I am, I've got measures in place, I'm going to be just fine. Summer is always a rubbish time of year for us. It gets better though. Just got to ride it out. Smile

Right! So last weeks no less than 3 takeaways, a McDonald's and a very large slice of cheesecake and several ferrero roche with not very much walking has resulted in a 0.3kg gain. Which is a 0.1 gain for this month overall.

Apparently I can't count and got myself all worked up about dropping back into the 2's for bugger all as I'm still in the 3 stone lost category, only bloody just mind but still! I don't know what happened there. So that's something anyway!

3/6/2019: 123.3kg

4/6/2019: 123.1kg

10/6/2019: 123.4kg

Loss so far in June: +0.1kg gain. Bobbins.

Weight at beginning of 2019: 142.9kg
Total loss so far: 19.5 kg (3.072 stones/42.99lbs)

Currently I'm at 50.7km out of my 134.1km walking challenge this month so quietly confident I'm going to hit that. Walking really helps. I've found a new route that takes me just under 45 minutes to walk so I'm going to be doing that as often as I can. I'm also having a mostly vegetarian week this week. See if that makes a difference. At least with quorn etc you know exactly how many cals are in it rather than guess work with weights etc.

This month I'm going to be gentle with myself, I'm probably not going to hit 3kg lost but I would like to get to 122.9 as that will be 20kg lost which is a nice round number (kinda like me Wink).

Hope you are doing well. Love to all who need it.

Saladforsantorini · 11/06/2019 13:22

Hi everyone,
Feeling a lot better today! However still won’t be doing a weigh until Sunday maybe Monday...
B - Skyr yoghurt + 1 rice cake with chopped banana at 1tbs of peanut butter
Snack - 2 slices of turkey
L - 2 eggs scrambled + half a tin of Heinz beans
D - Fresh tomato soup

Don’t have a massive appetite for any rubbish today either which is good. No Gym tho, not 100% better for that yet!

ImpossibleNovelty · 11/06/2019 13:50

Eek, my turn to be ill Sad I get migraines that can only be helped by painkillers, lying in the dark and carbs. Just coming out of it now having subsisted on paracetamol, lucozade and salt and vinegar crisps. Rubbish.
Good to see some of the other poorly folk are feeling a bit better. Here’s to better physical and mental health for us all Flowers

lightlypoached · 11/06/2019 13:58

Hello. 62 kilos this morning (so we have our answer...!)

Off Ill today with a bug.
B: poached eggs and toast
L: pitta with yoghurt coleslaw and roasted artichoke
Lots of tea.

Feel rubbish but headed in the right direction.

Hope everyone has a better day today.

Millie2018 · 11/06/2019 14:03

Had a really good day food wise yesterday and finished it off with a swim. Today I have felt rather faint. I think I overdid it. Had my usual breakfast and lunch but just had a piece of cheese on toast and cup of coffee. Hoping it will help. Not weighing in again until Saturday so if feeling better I’ll have a smaller dinner tonight.
The kids had Oreo Easter Eggs for pudding last night. They smelled Devine! Proud of myself for resisting given there were four!

lightlypoached · 11/06/2019 14:05

@peanutbutterismydownfall it sounds like you have eating habits that drive this model.
I think it's a bit like giving up
Smoking - you have to ride over the cravings. When you get the craving try saying it out loud 'it's a craving, it will pass' acknowledge that you are not actually hungry and even if you are you're not going to expire.
Keep a note of how many cakes you've avoided and said no to. You'll be amazed at how they ramp up. And as you look at the list remember that each of those pieces of cake would have been on your bum right now. And because you said 'no' they aren't. And you're the winner. Yay for you !

TheHoundsofLove · 11/06/2019 14:05

Sending kind thoughts to those of you who are ill or struggling.
I've been for a 10k run this morning and am sticking to 16:8. I don't think that skipping dinner would work for me, so am making 12-8 my 'eating window'. I didn't actually feel hungry until half 1 today, so my window will be even shorter. Smile Tbh, it's food for thought as I would normally come in from a run and eat something straight away, partly though habit and partly because it's what I've always been told is necessary for muscle recovery. But, it seems that lots of people now think that the post-exercise recovery window is much longer than we originally thought and that it is fine to eat up to a couple of hours after exercise. I'm going to be like a whippet by Friday! Grin

snooksmcgee · 11/06/2019 15:11

Starting weight 1st June: 16st 3lbs
Todays weight: 16st

Which means I have now lost exactly 1 stone since I started at the beginning of May!

Fluffiest · 11/06/2019 16:06

Congrats snooksmcgee, that's amazing! Hope you are proud of yourself.

My battle this week is to maintain. My holiday ends on Friday and I want to enjoy it so I will be tucking in to Chinese tonight and fish n chips at some point.

But to counter balance that I am still trying to have at least 20 minutes of exercise each day. I've done one run and three swims so far. Plus our outings have involved lots of walking about.

Evenings are harder when the kids are asleep and the good snacks and bottles of wine are out.

This thread has been a good hidden support to remind me of my goals. You lot are bloody inspiring both on your best days and worst days. Sorry to be a bit soppy but it's just cool to think there are these women out there anonymously cheering one another one. No judgement, no competiveness, just sincere support. I love it!

ImpossibleNovelty · 11/06/2019 16:34

Amazing work snooksmcgee Star for you!

Vebrithien · 11/06/2019 18:21

I had one of those moments today, when you don't know whether to laugh or cry. Had to run in the supermarket (forgot the eggs) and my trousers fell down. So embarrassing, but they fell down because they were TOO BIG!
Very Blush and Grin

lightlypoached · 11/06/2019 18:22

@Fluffiest yes. Agree totally. Solidarity really helps.

Smile
Pinkvici22 · 11/06/2019 18:30

L: cherries and an apple
D: omelette with ham and tons of veg
Snacks- coconut flat white, 10 cal jelly
