Spooky connections @Seer and @DottieLottie1 it's a small world indeed. Quite possibly the same hospital, yes.

I've had a fluctuating week lets say calorie wise.

I haven't eaten yet today. Friend is popping over later to do my hair, cut and colour.

Seer · 21/07/2019 19:34

How's your hair @TantricTwist ?

I'm closing on 1211 cals today... fine for a Sunday but annoyingly would have been 84 cals less if I hadn't had a bite of DS's ridiculously calorific cookie (the vegan one from Costa)... total waste of calories. Will not be touching them with a barge pole in future

Back on the 1k horse tomorrow.

I bought two lovely blouses in French Connection today, they were size 10 but quite floaty. And I had a good look at myself in the changing room mirror and I think I'm really still a stone away from having no flab at all on my tummy, back and hips.

@DottieLottie1 I'm going to try the one meal a day approach a couple of days a week if I can... any advice please? I can miss breakfast without even thinking about it but it feels like a massive deal to do without lunch too.

DottieLottie1 · 21/07/2019 20:38

@Seer I'm actually having more at breakfast and lunch than I ever have! So normally a shake for breakfast- around 155 cals, and another (normally shop bought) for lunch, I alternate it with almond milk based hot choc, then a punnet of berries. Then for dinner I can play around a bit as used few calories. Definitely sounds like meal replacement diet, but for me it's not as I've inserted them in rather than skip meals IYSWIM?

Today went to plan. I had a shake for breakfast at 155 cals, no lunch due to work training, and for dinner out was chicken in mushroom sauce with crushed potatoes + breaded mushrooms- coming on at 747 cals.

Add to that a couple of teas/herbal tea and soft drinks I'm just over 900 cals today. Not bad when I've eaten out!

TantricTwist · 21/07/2019 23:23

Bit envious of your size 10 @Seer Smile It'll take me a while to get anywhere near that. But you never know.

@DottieLottie1 That's not bad going for a meal out. I might try the shake thing. I've been making iced tea and coffee which has been lovely in this warmer weather.

My hair's much better now thanks. I couldn't bear looking in the mirror tbh plus it was nice to have a catch up with my friend.

I'm coming in at 1184 which isn't bad. I made some lemon sorbet for the first time and it was delicious and doesn't have an extortionate amount of calories due to the lack of fat I guess (tons of sugar though) I had a scoops worth if that.

DottieLottie1 · 22/07/2019 08:57

Morning all,

Just weighed in at 11st 9lb so another 2lb lost, which brings me to half my target weight loss. All in 10 weeks Smile

23 lbs to go, I think it might take longer than another 10 weeks but I'm keeping it up.

Today's plans will be to get the dog out soon due to the heat. Then I think I will just have a cuppa for breakfast as my DSis is popping round in a bit so might go to the local independent coffee shop. If so I will have 1 or 2 almond milk based hot chocs (yes, I can drink them whatever the heat!). Dinner will probably be 5% meatballs and spaghetti.

On a different note DSis is extremely slim, too thin. However, she struggles to put weight on despite having a huge appetite. She has seen her GP, it's just the way she is!

Feeling positive.

What are your plans for today and the super hot weather approaching?

Seer · 22/07/2019 13:47

Ah, I'm glad you're pleased with your hair @TantricTwist. It's such an important part of how we feel I think.

also, 1184 is amazing for a Sunday!

Don't be too jealous of the size 10 blouse... I think a size 12 person (ie me!) would fit them, they're just not very fitted. Also, I think I have quite small shoulders/back too so even though I'm quite hourglass, I can often fit into smaller tops than my chest measurements would indicate. The same is not true with bottoms tho - I can only just fit into size 10 bottoms even when I have no spare fat on me at all!

@DottieLottie1 That's blooming amazing!!! Really well done,

Inspired by you, I'm doing a version of the Warrior Diet (fast/undereat for 20 hours and overeat for 4 hours), that feels more doable to me than fasting all day until dinner. With that in mind:

B: fast
L: bowl of cherries (74 cals)
D: v chicken burger and salad in a seeded wrap, jacket potato and corn on the cob (700 cals)

So including tea with soya milk and maybe a pomegranate spritzer, I'll be under 1k cals, even if I have a banana or something later to keep me going.

DottieLottie1 · 22/07/2019 15:25

Still a long way for me to go!

Your dinner sounds lovely for this weather @Seer I've not decided on what to have yet. I'm doing our big shop this afternoon so will probably decided once there.

TantricTwist · 22/07/2019 16:49

I’m on a break.
B - Apple and 3 biscuits at 10am
L - lettuce, cous cous, chicken and an aubergine dish I cooked yesterday. Delicious it all was.
Currently having a coffee and no snacks

Might just have soup tonight as it’s so hot and I’ll probably just fall asleep when I get in

TantricTwist · 22/07/2019 16:50
  • meaning a coffee break not a break from diet
DottieLottie1 · 22/07/2019 18:10

Decided on pesto pasta with olives and bread with balsamic dip.

Rest of week will probably be a variety of salads, bought some lovely lemon and herb chicken breast. Might have an omelette at some point and a mini BBQ at end of the week.

Nice low calorie foods for hot hot weather!

Seer · 22/07/2019 18:30

Eating done for the day as I have a client call now... 966 cals

I'll let @TantricTwist imagine what's taking place on the call Grin

DottieLottie1 · 22/07/2019 19:08

I'm picturing you as Barbara Streisand @Seer though bet you look nothing alike!

Seer · 22/07/2019 21:02

Oh I look much more like Angelina Jolie @DottieLottie1 (definitely joking!)

Actually, who are your sleb lookalikes @DottieLottie1 and @TantricTwist ?

I've had some varied ones from Liz Hurley to Christine Bleakley to Nigella Lawson Grin

(Btw really craving pesto pasta now!)

DottieLottie1 · 22/07/2019 21:14

Ferne McCann apparently Blush

DottieLottie1 · 22/07/2019 21:15

Well I now know you have lovely long bouncy brunette hair!

TantricTwist · 22/07/2019 22:06

I look like Diane Kruger and the girl from the timotei ad (showing my age) so I’ve been told.

Chuckling at @Seer on the phone right now Grin

@DottieLottie1 I wish I’d had your pasta.

I walked in the door had a G&T got some bread out the freezer, made peanut butter on toast. Ate the rest of my aubergine stuff. Then ate a whole tub of Haagen Daz. So I’m guessing my calories are around 3000 or so, eek.
I was deliriously tired and hungry after a long exhausting day. Mind you I have burnt a shit load of calories today, but still.

Seer · 22/07/2019 22:18

I had to google Ferne @DottieLottie1 Grin

I'd never thought of Diane K and the Timotei woman looking similar but after looking up the Timotei ad (blast from the past!) they actually do!

It's going to be funny imagining each other like this from now on. At least my love child of Nigella/Liz/Christine is an improvement on Streisand.

I think it's Nigella's personality (maybe voice?) that people have said that's most like me if you want to add her sensual cooking style into your mental picture of me Grin

You've been doing so well lately @TantricTwist try not to be hard on yourself for the Haagen Daz misstep! Hope you enjoyed every bit, you can get back on the horse again tomorrow.

TantricTwist · 22/07/2019 22:41

I'm just not going to buy any more for a long while now and just stick to my ice pops.

So @Seer I'm imagining you as Christine Bleakley as she's my favourite of the 3. And @DottieLottie1 I know who Ferne is so that's easy enough to picture. That's so weird we all have faces now.

I've got the day off tomorrow so will do some proper meal planning whilst having more of a clear out.

Seer · 23/07/2019 07:39

I'm down a pound! Smile

This is the weight I decided I could be happy at so it's a milestone in itself.

5lb to go to my goal weight... which I don't think I really believed I could get to but now I do!

I'll be sticking around this thread after that tho... I suspect I'll need your support getting to my goal waist of 29"!

Plans for today:

After school bash for my ds so will need to lay off the snacks.

B: fasting
L: eating light eg strawberries, veg juice
D: pesto pasta, broccoli and a salad - thanks to @DottieLottie1 Grin

Should be another 1k cal day if I can't stay strong around the crisps etc!

Seer · 23/07/2019 07:39
  • can stay strong! Grin
TantricTwist · 23/07/2019 10:08

Well done @Seer the trick is once you've reached your target weight to maintain it, which you will for sure.

@DottieLottie1 You'll hit your target weight pretty soon I think as you're doing so well.

As for me, I need to keep the bottom drawer of my freezer empty or at least fill it with pots of frozen pre made pesto pasta to have when I get home after a long day. Or have pre cooked pasta in the fridge to eat when I get home that takes a minute to heat up. And omelettes, @DottieLottie1 your meal ideas are very helpful.
I don't realise how hungry I am or how much my feet and back hurt till I get in the door, whip my bra off, take my shoes off and sit down.

Today I'll be cooking lots of pasta, adding Sacla pesto which I happen to have in the cupboard and that can be my instant food when I get home on Wed and Thurs after work. I can get my head around sticking to this as opposed to what happened food wise last night. I can't have that happening again.

I also can't eat pasta at work because it will fill me up too much and make me feel lethargic. Although I could have a small amount alongside my other food for the energy.

I used to eat ham or chicken salad sandwiches a lot but now I'm avoiding bread.

Mind you I have been doing ok so far just a couple of lapses.
I'll make a large courgette and onion omelette / frittata today and a tub full of cous cous with cucumber and tomatoes.

DottieLottie1 · 23/07/2019 10:55

@TantricTwist omelettes are a good one especially in this weather! The fact you can vary it's filling too helps. My DH brings eggs home from work (they have free range chickens!) so laid that morning. This week I'll probably go for goats cheese, salami and jalapeño. Sometimes I'll have tomato, low fat mozzarella and basil. The art is not to overload them though. Then copious amounts of salad on the side, or a few new potatoes.

I've been out with the mutt early this morning due to the heat, so that 3 miles done. Just had a shake.

Kids broke up Friday so will take them out somewhere this afternoon. They are young teens so that might be a task Grin

Dinner will be lemon and herb chicken in pitta with salad.

TantricTwist · 23/07/2019 13:41

Mine are young teens too @DottieLottie1 and also broke up on Friday. They've been away for a few days though and are back tomorrow evening. Hurrah Hmm Grin.

I look forward though to going swimming with them in the sea, although not spending the whole day / afternoon there as I would have when they were younger. There's no shade for a start and I'm mindful of sun = wrinkles these days for me. I need to look up when the tide is out because then the sea is at it's warmest and loveliest.

I've cooked lots of Pasta and as it's too hot to go any where really. I'm going to cook up some courgette, onions and an omlette to eat as and when.

DottieLottie1 · 24/07/2019 08:35

Morning Smile

Working til late today. So plans are-

B- just a couple of cups of tea
L- Berries and a sugar free milk shake
D- 4 egg Omelette with goats cheese and salami, loads of crunchy salad

I'm leaving room for a few glasses of ice cold Prosecco too Grin

What are you up to?

Seer · 24/07/2019 10:45

Morning!

Ended up going over cals yesterday due to eating more snacks than planned but I also didn't eat lunch so it was understandable. I also mostly ate the berries, carrot sticks, melon etc and managed to stop myself troughing on crisps and v sausage rolls!

I probably would have still been around 1k cals but needed a couple of spritzers to recover from the crazy day and to celebrate the end of the school year 🍷

Today is going to be another challenging day calorie-wise as I have a friend staying and will be having dinner together and probably some wine. Might just have to consider today a write-off for 1k and do what I can to keep as low as poss.

B: woke up hungry for a change... bagel with hummus and almond butter (separate halves!)
L: will aim to just snack on berries/palm hearts (I crave those lately!)
D: puff pastry pizza, new potatoes, broccoli, garlic courgettes, and runner beans

I think it'll be around 1100 cals without the wine.

Hope you both have a lovely day and manage to get out in the sun!
