That's slightly over 2lbs a week.
I'm planning to exercise every day & do the 5:2.
Anyone fancy joining me?

Ooooh, just realised I've been doing this for exactly 3 weeks today and have lost just over 7lb in total... which works out an average of 2.3lb a week Smile

emmamehimandthem · 30/05/2019 12:29

I've only just seen this thread but would love to join in. I've lost 7 pounds so far in May but didn't weigh in this week.
I'm not following a plan but am trying to make better food choices to make this a lifestyle change rather than a diet.
I'm off to Turkey in July with the family for 2 weeks so at least 2 stones would be amazing(although I do have loads more to loose)

habibihabibi · 30/05/2019 13:17

Scales havent shifted this week but I have renewed determination as my 9yr old DS was looking through an old album ( pre kids) and remarked to my DH " I can't believe it !, Mummy was so fit and thin when you met her "

itscallednickingbentcoppers · 30/05/2019 15:31

I'm a bit fed up. Fed up being starving and eating the same meals in a loop! So last night I shared a bottle of wine with DP and ate a load of crisps and nuts. Oh dear. But got a wedding invitation through the door for 4 weeks time so that will hopefully get me back on track.

Seer · 30/05/2019 18:21

Ouch @habibihabibi Shock

@itscallednickingbentcoppers I felt fed up last week, on top of the hunger/boredom apparently burning fat/losing weight can affect your mood (due to the release of hormones, toxins etc). Hopefully you'll feel better soon.

Studentnursesos12e · 30/05/2019 19:02

Alright day but looking forward to being able to accurately track when back in UK (fly tomorrow). Going to be really strict/accurate until 16th June and hopefully get a decent loss. Whilst I’m in aus (-6th July) I’m aiming for a lb a week loss.

Good luck everyone x

MrsMozartMkII · 30/05/2019 23:12

I'm behind the curve again on catching up.

Eating is better though not yet ideal. The 'Raptors are walking for longer, therefore so am I lol. Today was over 16k steps and 140 active minutes, and they're all due to up again by another 30mins each on Saturday. My poor tired achey legs. And DH thinks we're off to the gym in the morning. It's so sweet that he has a dream lol.

Anyhoo, we'll all keep at it and we'll get there folks Smile

TantricTwist · 30/05/2019 23:50

My eating is ok but total lack of exercise at the moment so I need to be extra careful as to what I shove in my gob Grin such as spoonfuls of peanut butter and strawberry jam earlier ?!?!? I've never done that in my life till today, eek!

Seer · 31/05/2019 08:25

@MrsMozartMkII that sounds great! I have two dogs too (I think I remember yours are actually dogs not birds of prey/dinosaurs Grin) and if it wasn't for walking them I'd be moving a lot less.

I'm like @TantricTwist and not really moving enough. I walk the dogs and usually do some squats and a bit of dancing most days but not really enough to make a difference.

This conversation has motivated me to find more ways to move, so thank you! Going back to doing yoga or the 5 rites has been on my mind for a while so maybe I'll start there.

In eating news... I wolfed down 1800 calories yesterday (and I suspect I've underreported) Confused

I think it was eating that pancake in the morning that did it, my mind/body went into weekend mode and I just couldn't seem to feel satisfied even though I wasn't really that hungry.

I even went to eat random stuff directly from the fridge (like your peanut butter and jam moment, Tantric), which I never normally do. I managed to pull back after a solitary olive but it took all the strength I have. Grin

The scales show a .4lb increase over the last couple of days which I'm trying to remember is natural fluctuation and not that I've magically put on that amount of fat.

I'm looking at the MFP graph over time and seeing that it always goes up and down like this. Just got to keep the faith (and not eat so much today)!

Seer · 31/05/2019 08:35

Sorry for the essay there Blush I'm finding sharing on this thread so helpful for keeping me on track, plus I have aspergers and tend to give too many details (which I totally notice when my son does it but not when I do Hmm )

MrsMozartMkII · 31/05/2019 08:39

Tantric stay strong lass!

Seer Y'up, hairy hounds as opposed to scaly dinos Grin. And there's three of them. And they're all in training and being walked separately. And I'm knackered lol. You have two, so that has to be at least two hours of walking a day? My graph is like yours - up and down like a yo-yo. Just have to accept that that is how it is and look for the overall trajectory.

Today I've woken up feeling shit. I'm wondering if it was the crumpets and flatbread yesterday. I think it's a reminder from m'poor old body that it can't really cope with wheat. When head has stopped banging I'll drag self off to the gym, then go 'Raptor walkies. At least it's not bloody raining (so far!). Got through three coats yesterday. Soggy times.

MrsMozartMkII · 31/05/2019 08:40

Seer if the detail helps then don't worry. It's whatever works for you that's the important thing.

mynamechangemyrules · 31/05/2019 14:12

I did so well, was storming it and then have just had a week of mayhem- childcarer in hospital and with 3 kids and a useless XH it threw me right off. Ate whatever and even had wine after 2 months of none. So demoralising Sad
Am going to try to get back on the horse but feel miserable about it and I tend to throw the towel in when I start failing...

Seer · 31/05/2019 14:41

Thank you @MrsMozartMkII Thanks

That sounds really rough @mynamechangemyrules it's totally understandable that it's affected your eating/drinking. Try to keep going, we're right here with you. Today is a new day and you'll be pleased if you can look back this evening and see that you had an improved day today.

TantricTwist · 31/05/2019 16:24

Thank @MrsMozart and @Seer I am now out of my fug after reading all your comments today and am changed into my gym gear ready to go on the cross trainer something I haven't done for a very long time Blush

I've had a few weeks off between jobs and have been doing too much resting and now I need to get my shit together as it were esp as I'll be back on my feet again mid June so will lose some of the weight again but need to raise my stamina levels.

@mynamechangemyrules stay on here and we'll get you through it, we're only human and will always need those glasses of wine and treats here and there otherwise what's the point.

TantricTwist · 31/05/2019 17:22

That feels better, little steps, I went on the cross trainer for 38 mins and did 13K.
So eating better has at least allowed me to start exercising properly again without feeling as exhausted as I thought I would, yay.
I feel like I've had some kind of a mental block against proper exercise and healthy eating for a good long while.

Probably because work is quite tiring and therefore makes it difficult to stick to anything but then of course things get worse before you know it and boom you've gone up 2 sizes and have less energy than ever. So I guess instead of moping around I need to make use of the next couple of weeks and exercise my arse quite literally off Grin
This morning I had 2 slices of sourdough from the freezer topped with sliced tomatoes and that's it so far.
When I get hungry again I'll have chicken with broccoli and mash or rice Hmm decisions decisions.

TantricTwist · 31/05/2019 17:25

*Mind you the time off has been to study and to write lots of reports etc so lots of sitting down involved.

Seer · 01/06/2019 08:30

Great stuff @TantricTwist ! Does your job involve being on your feet?

Although I work for myself and love it, my job is v inactive, it's just as well I have dogs to walk at lunchtime or I'd be a immobile blob-like mass all day.

I had a good day yesterday, although I went a bit over on calories (understandable given it's the hols and a Fri when we have a take-away and wine!), I also walked for hours.

And I'm a pound down on the scales Smile

Wishing you all a lovely day (and in the sunshine if you live anywhere near me)!

Seer · 01/06/2019 08:34

I'm going to need the motivation today as I'll have breakfast, which means I'll eat more overall, and I think I'm having an Indian meal later... trying to stick to under 1500 calories if possible

MrsMozartMkII · 01/06/2019 09:43

Dropping in slightly cross- eyed tired (broken sleep).

Somehow managed to lose 2.75lbs since this time last week. My weight fluctuates considerably, up and down like a penguin on a pogo stick, but I'll take that loss Grin

myname you just hang on in there with us. We're all rooting for you and you can do it. A bleugh period doesn't mean the end, it's just that, a bleugh, and you'll get back to it because the end goal is worth it.

Tantric yay the cross-trainer!

Seer if your job is stationary, can you set a timer to get up and walk every hour? Use the stairs if there's any there. When I'm cloistered on a client's site I'll use the loo on a different floor, work out a wiggly route to wherever it is I have to go. It all helps to keep my brain sharp and means the long hours are less of a solid block.

bettybyebye · 01/06/2019 10:21

Haven’t posted in ages but I am still here and still trying. This morning’s WI shows a 1.5lb loss on the scales, which I am happy with. Still waiting for one of those weeks where I lose 3lbs+ but maybe I need to accept that that isn’t going to happen! As long as it’s going down that’s the main thing. I think I am about 4.5-5lbs down in 3 weeks which is ok...

PumpkinPie2016 · 01/06/2019 15:38

Well done on all of the losses Smile

I had a couple of treats yesterday and today but didn't go overboard.

This is the end of my 2nd week and I am 6lb lighter than I was when I started so that's great!

Will find it easier to keep on track next week as I am back at work.

7 weeks until the hols!

TantricTwist · 01/06/2019 17:43

@Seer yes it does and for hours at a time and then I normally sleep a lot in between on days off making it difficult for me to find time for proper exercise.

I went on the cross trainer again today for 6K. I'm trying to get my body and mind used to going on it and therefore fitting in 5K on a more regular basis and 10K on days off. And of course that kind of exercise does make you feel happier once you do it.
@MrsMozartMKII I too have broken sleep but am oversleeping too much, so another reason to use the cross trainer to tire me out in preparation for early morning rises.
Betty and Pumpkin you're both doing so well, yay.

Studentnursesos12e · 01/06/2019 23:07

Well done on the losses x

Finishing today on 1,137 cals, will try WI tomorrow

Studentnursesos12e · 01/06/2019 23:07

Also got a run done
