SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 12/05/2019 09:53

That's slightly over 2lbs a week.
I'm planning to exercise every day & do the 5:2.
Anyone fancy joining me?

Hiya, can I join? Started calorie counting on 6th May and weighed in yesterday with just over 8lb off so had a good start. I find weeks 3/4 so hard...the cravings and hunger reach a peak but it seems to have calmed down slightly now.
Just taking it one meal at a time at the minute and hoping for another 2lb off on Monday

Studentnursesos12e · 28/05/2019 14:03

I’m in, started today. I’m currently in krakow and will be calorie counting but this week doing it mindfully.

Breakfast - 1 small plate salad, 1 small plate grapes and melon, 3 tbsp baked beans, tiny bread roll, espresso and lemon-water.
Dinner- bread roll, vegan protein bar (181 cals) pepsi max cherry and some grapes

Tea will be at a self serve vegetarian place. Will make it quite salad based.

My insensitive family informed me today (ironically the healthiest day I’ve had in weeks) that I just eat and eat and eat. 🤔

They of course had (hotel) cooked breakfast, numerous rolls, pastries, smoothies, waffles at breakfast. Calorie density is lost on them 😂

Studentnursesos12e · 28/05/2019 14:05

I’m back to 11st 11 😭😭😭 but really focussed. I eased myself back in last week which got me into the 11s. I also discovered the subway salad 😍

Pipadee · 28/05/2019 14:18

Hi I'd like to join in too. I'm currently 1.5 stones overweight and would like to lose as much as possible before 4th July.

How do we do this??

mynamechangemyrules · 28/05/2019 15:01

I'm finding the fasting to work really well @Pipadee

I've lost 6kg in 10 days with eating healthily and only eating in the 8hour window.

The thing I'm slightly worried about is that I'm not really hungry any more at all... For me with a job, 3 kids and solo parent, it's just genuinely easier to fast and then eat healthy for a short period rather than battle out every meal. Is it bad for me long term?

Studentnursesos12e · 28/05/2019 15:46

Forgot to put I want to lose as much as healthily possible by the time I go to Australia (16th June). I’m hoping for half a stone.

@mynamechange there’s loads of evidence supporting intermittent fasting and as long as you are getting enough nutrition and not massively undereating I think you’ll be ok x

Studentnursesos12e · 28/05/2019 15:51

For tea I ended up having a nice salad and samosa filling but I fed the pastry to my family as I’m determined 🤣 will probably snack on fruit or veggies later on

MrsMozartMkII · 28/05/2019 19:43

Welcome new comrades to arms!

Pipadee no particular way to do it. Just follow whatever weight loss process that works for you and use this thread to help keep you motivated.

Seer · 28/05/2019 19:45

@MrsMozartMkII no, I have a very carefully designated weighing zone (in the bath ) as the floors in my ancient house are so wonky that it's impossible to get any sense of accuracy if I do it elsewhere.

I'm wondering if my scales are v crap at rounding down/up when it's set to Stone or something

I tried setting to Pounds when I saw people on this thread talk about losing 1.5 pound (for eg) and realised I wasn't able to measure half a pound.

@mynamechangemyrules I do 18:6 Mon-Fri and find the same as you regarding a loss of hunger. I will have only eaten 300 calories max by 7.30pm most days (I typically eat my dinner after that time) and I'm usually nowhere near starving.

If I eat breakfast tho it's a whole 'nother story!

MrsMozartMkII · 28/05/2019 19:47

Seer well that's just an oddity m'duck.

Seer · 28/05/2019 19:51

@Pipadee yy, we're all doing something different here.

I do 16:8 intermittent fasting Mon-Fri
I eat 80% whole food plant based (a la Dr Greger's Daily Dozen)
I stay under 1200 calories Mon-Fri, and 1500 Sat/Sun

I don't count macros but many here do.

I have a stone left to lose and then I will probably increase my calories, though I'll likely will still do 16:8 and whole food plant based as it suits my natural style of eating anyway.

Seer · 28/05/2019 19:57

@MrsMozartMkII I'll stick to Pounds going forward anyway if they weigh lighter! Grin

pinkginplease · 28/05/2019 20:04

Please can I join you all

MrsMozartMkII · 28/05/2019 21:17

Seer Lighter Pounds is definitely the way to go!

pinkgin welcome aboard.

PumpkinPie2016 · 29/05/2019 07:19

Glad we are all doing well Smile

I weighed myself this morning and have lost another 2lb which is good. So I am now 6lb lighter than I was two weeks ago Grin was going to hold off weighing until Friday but couldn't resist!

Today might be a bit tricky as I promised DS a trip tonthe library/park and when we do that he always wants to go in a safe near the park. Will have to choose healthy options and park further away to walk!

Seer · 29/05/2019 07:58

That's so good, @PumpkinPie2016 !

I hope you elegantly swerve temptation today.

I have also lost a pound today (which isn't just because I'm weighing in pounds now Grin ), I'm now 10lbs off my dream weight, and only 6lb off the weight I think I'll be pretty content with.

I keep marvelling at how effortlessly slim I've been all my life and how I didn't really appreciate either the ease or the slenderness at the time. Envy I bloody will appreciate being slim again this time!

It's a tempting day for me too as it's my monthly day off (all to myself!!!), and I usually have a lovely lunch out and a glass of wine. I've decided I do want to have that so I will cut down on calories at dinner later to allow for it.

Wishing us all a day of letting go of the excess fat we no longer want or need Smile

PumpkinPie2016 · 29/05/2019 08:08

Thanks seer and well done to you also!

I feel spurred on now I can see results on the scales.

I tried on some holidays shorts earlier that were uncomfortably tight two weeks ago and they definitely fit better!

7 weeks until my holiday now so I'm determined to keep going for that.

Seer · 29/05/2019 09:03

@PumpkinPie2016 seeing the loss on the scales and in your clothes is soooo motivating isn't it?

I'm taking a leaf out of @TantricTwist's book today and have squeezed into a pair of size 12 skinny jeans with a zip that I couldn't do up last month. Trying and failing to get those on was one of the things that finally pulled me out of my denial that I actually gained weight Hmm

They're not hugely comfortable (compared to my jeans with elasticated waists) but I'm appreciating the reminder that losing some more fat is desirable!

ILiveInSalemsLot · 29/05/2019 09:17

Ups and downs here this week. I’m joining the downs as I’ve had a mad day of carb and sugar eating then realised totm! Why does that mess with me so much? And I feel so bloated urgh.
Anyway, I’m over it now so back to fasting today.
I’m making a slow cooked ratatouille thing today that I love and will have that with a bit of brown rice for dinner.

Seer · 29/05/2019 10:54

Mmmm, I love ratatouille too, @ILiveInSalemsLot Smile

Re your TOTM, have you read Wild Power? It's about menstrual cycle awareness and I've found it so helpful in understanding my cycle and not feeling so at the mercy of it.

My friend did this podcast episode with the two authors if you prefer to listen instead of reading:

TantricTwist · 29/05/2019 17:49

seer and salemslot I've still got my ratatouille from the other day in the fridge I made so much of it, albeit I added mushrooms to mine, I've had a bit everyday, yum.

I'm now avoiding bread completely as they are empty calories and twice as much as rice, potatoes, pasta and cous cous.

No more sandwiches for a while or camembert and baguette >>wah

Seer · 29/05/2019 18:11

I always add mushrooms to mine too, @TantricTwist I can't understand why they weren't part of the original recipe anyway Grin

I'm pretty much the same with bread now - I'm only having it once a week for a vegan BLT at the weekend. I really enjoy it so it feels worth the calories.

Boiled potatoes are a revelation to me tho... really filling and so low in calories considering. I just had a vegan schnitzel,
a mound of veg, and boiled potatoes - only 400 calories and I'm stuffed.

TantricTwist · 29/05/2019 21:00

The great thing with boiled potatoes @Seer is that you can smash and fry them in a bit of oil esp good for any left overs. Fry some onion with them too.
Yes a weekend baguette would be a nice treat once I've lost the weight.

Pipadee · 29/05/2019 22:39

@Seers Thanks for your message. i've just googled 16:8 as I'd never heard of it and it sounds great. I'm going to start tomorrow. Hope it will make a difference. Thanks

Seer · 30/05/2019 10:36

I just succumbed to the pancakes I'd made everyone else for breakfast. Hmm

I only had one with some berries and a little bit of banana so around 355 calories max but it makes the day ahead more challenging as I will likely still want a decent lunch and dinner and I struggle to do 3 meals + drinks in 1200 calories, esp because I think we'll be eating out at lunch.

Still feeling v motivated so will do what I can to stay as close to 1200 as possible Halo
