That's slightly over 2lbs a week.
I'm planning to exercise every day & do the 5:2.
Anyone fancy joining me?

Well done on the losses all! WI for me yesterday and I lost 1lb. To be honest I kind of felt like I deserved more given that i’d had a good week, and you’re supposed to lose more in the early weeks, but I have decided to not fixate on that. I definitely feel better so need to focus on that.

We were at a family festival yesterday so I had my cheat day- lots of Pringles and snacks washed down with a takeaway curry and cava for tea. However back on it this morning and will be good again till next Saturday! I am taking no time off over half term so hopefully that won’t sabotage me!

Jinglejanglefish · 26/05/2019 15:02

So I weighed myself on Friday and am down 2kg in 3 weeks, only 2kg away from not being overweight anymore!

I have actually found cutting down on my carbs much easier than I thought. I made cauliflower rice last night with some chilli and cheese and it wasn't half bad!

mynamechangemyrules · 26/05/2019 15:07

Hi @SmiledWithTheRisingSun am I too late to join the party?!

I started Nourish (Sharny and Julius online diet and exercises- it's basically intermittent fasting with a low carb diet) two weeks ago, lost 6kg and so happy with myself that I've had chips and pizza this weekend Blush

So back on the wagon and need a support team! (My annoying lovely friends have all slimmed down/ are those naturally skinny people so got no one in RL!)

Today: chips and a burger
Tomorrow: lots of cucumber and broccoli Grin

PumpkinPie2016 · 26/05/2019 16:30

I'm feeling really hungry today Sad

Had museli and get free yogurt for breakfast, a chicken sandwhich and 5 cherry tomatoes for lunch.

Have input dinner already - 2 sausages, cauliflower, carrots and roast potatoes (in sunflower oil) and gravy.

Had about 3 cups of tea (no sugar, skimmed milk) and input one for later.

So, I will finish about 100 cals under but for some reason I am bloody starving Sad

There is very little I can eat that won't send me over either calories or macros.

Not even done much - took DS swimming this morning but he's only 5 and still learning so didn't actually swim myself. Done some housework and that's it!

Maybe I will try to make tea early!

Seer · 26/05/2019 16:58

@PumpkinPie2016 That's what I find when I eat breakfast: for the rest of the day I seem to struggle to prevent hunger whilst staying below my intended calories. And I don't even have any macro goals.

At the weekends when I do have breakfast, I end up skipping lunch instead which I find much more challenging.

3 meals plus drinks in less than 1200 calories is a blooming challenge!

@TantricTwist I'm trying to get more organised with healthier snacks for when we're having friends over... carrot batons, edamame in pods, melon etc, which I'm actually perfectly happy with, it's just being more intentional about having and putting out those kinds of snacks instead of crisps etc.

PumpkinPie2016 · 26/05/2019 17:20

That's a good point seer, when I'm working, I rarely eat breakfast because it's too early and then I am so busy I don't notice. I am not in work this week and had breakfast so maybe that's it.

Might try eating brunch tomorrow instead.

MrsMozartMkII · 26/05/2019 20:30

Just checking in.

For some reason I am desperately tired. Will catch up with y'all tomorrow.

TantricTwist · 26/05/2019 23:23

pumpkinpie I was once told by a dietician (not in a professional capacity) just someone I knew who said that for me when I feel hungry and tired I should try a bowl of bran flakes. I had forgotten this till now. It does work, for me anyway, despite the fact this advice has passed me by the last year or so. She said it's good as it slow releases energy due to the fibre etc.

Seer I'm filling my fridge with salad items and cooked chicken so I have an instant meal for when I'm suddenly hungry.

I made a pot of ratatouille earlier which was lovely. Next time I'll make a larger amount as I'll probably be eating more of it and am planning to add things such as mushrooms etc which will make it more of a non-ratatouille really.

I went to the opticians earlier with my DS and we walked a long route past TKMaxx again for the exercise and to have a gander. I ended up trying on a linen top in a size 16 which seemed to hang nicely. I then looked inside the label and it said size 20 eek, but I bought it as it fits nicely and I need a top that fits. It's not really cut to accommodate breasts really in that it's quite boxy so I told myself it's technically a size 16. My legs looked very fat today but my tummy was covered by the top so no visible rolls, yay. I think looking in full length mirrors in shops seems to be my thing at the moment to show me how much I've actually put on. I'm very over weight but I feel like I can do something about it and not let it continue getting worse and worse.

TantricTwist · 26/05/2019 23:27

seer I guess for guest snacks, olives are always good and other antipasti stuff.

Seer · 27/05/2019 08:03

@TantricTwist Antipasti stuff is a good idea tho I wonder if I'd overeat that - I love that kind of food!

Try not to get too downhearted about the size 20, clothes sizing is just mad.

I wore a pair of shorts yesterday that I can now fit back into and look OK in (yay!) and noticed they're a size Large... I bought them last year when I was size 10-12, which isn't really what most people would consider Large Hmm

In other news, I've decided I'm going to weigh myself and measure my waist and hips only once a week, on Fridays.

I'm a little worried that it'll be disheartening if that's one of those freak days where the scales go back up a pound but what can you do? I guess the tape measure is more reliable so I'll try to focus more on that.

My waist measured 33.5 inches this week, down from 35 at the beginning of May, and I'm aiming to get down to 30 (31 being the recommended maximum size for health).

I don't think I look obviously overweight now (tho I could well be kidding myself) so it blows my mind that I'm still dangerously overweight according to guidelines. Shock

Seer · 27/05/2019 08:08

I'm really trying to see this week as a normal week food-wise, rather than a holiday... even though I'm only working tomorrow.

My first challenge is coming up... making pancakes for the children whilst not eating breakfast at all myself.

Pray for me.Grin

PumpkinPie2016 · 27/05/2019 09:04

Hope you managed yo survive the pancakes seer

Tantric I might try that!

I am taking DS to the cinema in a bit as the weather is rubbish here today. Must ensure I order diet coke and put the popcorn on DS side! Grin

wildhairdontcare · 27/05/2019 10:33

DH and I went out with friends yesterday Confused. Today is a new day!!!

ltk · 27/05/2019 10:56

Yeah, this weekend was not a good one, but back on track today!

AyahuascaTrip · 27/05/2019 12:02

Emerging from the mother of all d&v bugs to find I’ve somehow gained a pound! Life is cruel sometimes, but I’m still going into week two (no, three?) 3.5 pounds down overall.

Seer · 27/05/2019 15:26

How can salt popcorn be so high in calories, ffs?!

PumpkinPie2016 · 27/05/2019 15:33

seer everything seems so high in calories doesn't it Sad

Doing ok today though so that's good x

TantricTwist · 27/05/2019 15:48

I had a bowl of alpen for breakfast and still feel full Confused. Maybe it's all the tea and coffee.

I've made a huge bowl of lemon and garlic couscous ready to eat for when I start feeling hungry again alongside salady stuff and chicken.

Everything carb related is so high in calories so I have to really think about how to add it to the day as I don't want to totally eliminate it from my diet apart from not going near bread or pasta for a couple of weeks at least. (although I'm sure I'll come into unavoidable contact with it somehow)

MrsMozartMkII · 27/05/2019 21:39

Tantric many of the sizes in TK Maxx is a bit whappy. I go with the 'If I like it I'll buy it' and completely ignore the sizing. You're on the right track lass.

Seer I hope the weekly weigh and tape measure works for you. I tried it but found I lose focus, so weigh daily and log it daily on MFP - it's quite interesting (to me) to see how it goes up and down and the odd patterns that emerge.

I think I might be back on track. The 'Raptors are well again and we're back out doing the walkies. Two of them are on short walks for now but will build up, whereas the other one is just like me, i.e. fat and unfit, so she gets to go further. Eating has improved. Today was hard, however I mentally leant on y'all and my MFP pals and the fact that I didn't want to end up feeling worse, and managed not to have anything I shouldn't've.

ChubRubTub · 27/05/2019 22:44

I had a shocker of a weekend, went completely off the rails! Both alcohol and food.

I've still managed to lose 1.5lbs this week, so not too bad.

I'm really annoyed at myself though. I didn't really enjoy most of what I had, it was just being out with friends and family and not wanting to make an issue of being on a diet.

Good to hear how everyone else is getting on!

MrsMozartMkII · 28/05/2019 07:16

Chub we've pretty much all been there for sure. You're back on track now. If going out is a regular thing maybe there's healthier versions of what you'd normally have?

Here the scales say down 1.75lbs, but who knows in reality if that'll stay there or be back up tomorrow. I probably need to state a monthly loss / gain figure rather than weekly HmmConfused

Seer · 28/05/2019 07:56

@MrsMozartMkII I've changed my mind again! I've realised that I've been losing focus too since I've stopped daily weighing.

I've decided I'm going to weigh daily until I've lost a full stone and then review.

Weighed myself this morning and I'm up 2lb Hmm though I find that easier to deal with when I'm weighing daily as I get to see the fluctuations and know it will come down again in the next day or so... if I keep on the path.

It's also been more challenging to stay within my calorie allowance with dh and the dcs around but I'm going to prioritise it again from today.

Seer · 28/05/2019 08:03

I've just weighed myself again in pounds instead of stone and I'm 2lb lighter than I was 5 minutes ago Confused

MrsMozartMkII · 28/05/2019 09:07

Seer did you put the scales down in a different place? At my last house six inches could make a huge difference...

I'm with you on the daily within by. I know it's not for everyone but I need it to keep focused and there's too much else going on. I also try on a pair of trousers every evening so I don't stuff myself last thing and pretend it's not happened - I want to wear those trousers this summer!

TantricTwist · 28/05/2019 13:08

Chub we're only human after all

That sounds weird Seer

Good plan MrsMozart

I always wear my comfy Mom jeans around the house as opposed to anything with an eleasticated waist so I can feel them tightening.
