Exante - Here I come AGAIN!

I got Exante last year and I've still got the bulk of the damn stuff!
I imagine the sachets and bars in their boxes, just fuming with rage, resentment and regret. Blush

I look back over last year and see just easy I was knocked off course.
Fair enough, it was a bad year and I perhaps didn't really appreciate how badly I was handling certain personal issues. But i do need to stop making excuses. Sad
And I intend to. I can't change past events, and I may be struggling a tad, but taking control can only help, I'm sure.

I'm starting for definite on Wednesday 6th March. It's a habit from childhood that I follow Lent, so it seems a good day to recommence.

I'm planning 5 days completely 'on' , then 2 days off but calorie counted. But - as per my usual Lent habit - no proper chocolate, sweets, biscuits.

Anyone want to help with advice/support?

Or, join in? Wink

The maple flapjack thing is indeed minging.

Hi everyone, I know I'm more than a bit late to the party, but the January VLCD thread seemed massive - is it ok to join this one? DH and I did another VLCD a couple of years ago, and both lost 4 stone, but then stopped, and put it all back on, have tried a couple of times to get back on the wagon, but failed because he's been away/I've been away/we've had visitors, so we've restarted this week again - this time seriously!
We're not doing Exante, we're doing Shake That Weight, but it's more or less the same stuff, same principle - shake/bar/cereal/soup/dehydrated meal x4/5 per day.
First week's always the hardest and then it gets easier, and I've been trying to remember to drink water today, as I'm a bugger for not doing that. We did try doing it 5/2 for a while, but found we just binged at the weekends, and ended up not losing anything, so it's a solid 3 months for us - a small indie film we made a while ago has it's premier coming up in a few months, and I want to look fairly decent for that if I can! :D (It sounds really glam, but honest-to-god, it's probably just going to be what ever cast and crew can make it to the local showing!

Checked the scales this morning and I have lost another 2lbs which means a total of 15lbs so finally lost a stone!🎉🎉

How is everyone else getting on?

onaroll · 30/03/2019 12:44

Hi all Wink
Yesterday was my 1st full week, weighed in with a 7lb6oz loss so happy ( enough) with that.
I’m coping with the lack of real food but thinking socially not being able to drink at all is a PITA .
I know it’s all for a good reason - still a struggle.

OfMe · 30/03/2019 13:16

I know @leeloo - we've decided to not even break it for Mothers' Day tomorrow - no cake, no nice breakfast in the morning :( But it will all be worth it in the end!

OfMe · 30/03/2019 13:16

And well done for losing 15 lbs!

NoCanoe · 30/03/2019 15:54

Hello everyone!

Ive had a very clingy flu virus that just loved me so much it would leave for a day, then coming racing back and fell me again, as if leaping on me like some massive dog saying, ....oh, NoCanoe, I've missed you so much! . Angry

So, its been a bit crap lately. No exante dieting for me, but Im feebly peering at Monday as a new start. Again!!

And, yes, those maple and pecan cookies ARE minging! One bite was enough for me too!Envy. Not envy - definitely vomit inducing.

Anyway Iv weighed definitely 4 stone needs to go onwards and downwards for me x

NoCanoe · 03/04/2019 13:35

Im still requiring mask, gloves and a forensic suit before I'm allowed out in public, methinks! Virus is a bluddy limpet!

Have received a date of 30th May for an all day course, so Im going to aim for that as my first interim date weight loss wise.
I dread being the fattest person in the room. Blush

So my partner and I started on Monday. I have 5stone to lose and he's doing it with me to support. He's amending it slightly as he doesn't need to lose more than half a stone, if that. He's just got a bit of a tummy, I did tell him toning exercises would probably be better but it fell on deaf ears 😏

Anyways, it's going okay. The shakes and bars are nice! Had a porridge and finished it but it was vile. Drinking as much water as I can, sometimes I don't even have 2L but I wasn't having any before and living on diet coke so that's gotta be better!

I went window shopping today, looked at all the lovely new summer clothes that are coming out. I imagined buying them when I've reached my target and that's helping with my mindset I think.

It's hard but I feel like I can do it.

OfMe · 04/04/2019 16:51

You will do it, Sheesh - just find the things you like and stick to them, and you'll be ok. When DH and I did it the first time around (on Saints and Slimmers) the porridge was vile too, but we love the cereal, the shakes, the choc/almond&pumpkin seed bars. This time around, we're sticking some normal aldi soups in for dinners, as 4 packs plus that makes around 800 cals. We lost 3.5 and 4.25 stone last week, so fingers crossed it'll be similar this week!

SheeshKebab · 05/04/2019 16:41

Ah thanks 😊I feel like it's getting better each day, I wanted to get crisps, chocolate etc today but I didn't so that's progress in itself. Well done, I'm hoping for a big loss 🤞

OfMe · 05/04/2019 19:33

Try the shake that weight zippers, they're like cheesy Nik-Naks - don't know if W ante have something similar but probably. They're 150c but they really fill you up.

OfMe · 05/04/2019 19:37

We had a massive fall off the wagon last night but I do have a wee infection so dh got some filled pasta & sauce, wine, an apple pie - god, it was great. But, back on the wagon today!

Zoflorabore · 10/04/2019 21:16

Hi I've found this thread as my exante box of hope arrived tonight Grin

I'm zoflo, been big my whole life and to be honest I've not really tried dieting properly. Half heartedly done SW many times and one experience with WW which I hated and I read about Exante on MN and today decided to bite the bullet. Paid 3 million quid yo get it delivered same day as I'm really excited to start.

I'm 41,5ft 5 and a size 20 but weigh a lot. I'm going to get weighed tomorrow at local sports centre as threw the scales in the bin.
Will pop back on tomorrow to see if anyone is still here. Ordered the 50 items for £45 which was mainly shakes.

Dreaming of a slimmer summer tonight... night all.

NoCanoe · 10/04/2019 21:48

Hey all....and extra hellos to new joiners. Smile

I went to see Ant Middleton earlier this week. Its made me really think about my mental approach to a lot of things, not just this diet.

So, im hopeful once I've rechosen my start date, I've got something extra in my armoury.

Hi all. I did exante last year and lost nearly 2 stone. I felt fantastic, looked better than I had in years, and did c25k.

I'm still running and doing parkrun, but managed to creep back to old self-destructive eating patterns and put just over 1 stone back on. No more! Kick-starting some weightloss with exante again, pushed on by this thread to purchase more shakes tonight. I'll join as soon as I can properly once I'm back from my holiday.

This plan really works, it's just sticking to healthy eating patterns after that's ruddy hard.

OfMe · 18/04/2019 22:34

How long did that take you Wetdog? I'm hoping to lose 3.5 lbs per week over the next 10 weeks. Currently I'm 5 ft 0", 13st 12 lb, and I wear mostly 16-18. I've just been trying to calculate how many inches I might be able to lose and therefore what dress size I'll be, but nothing seems to make any sense. For example, even though I wear size 16 jeans from M&S and Tu, a 36D bra (M&S) and 16-18 tops, all the dress size calculators have put me at being somewhere between 22-28 from my measurements of 44/44/49, meaning that if I lose an inch per 8.5 lbs, I'll lose a little over 4 inches, and drop 2 dress sizes. That's all a big 'if' though!

Wetdogloveshubert · 19/04/2019 08:19

I think it was 8 weeks last time, but I also did two 'gulps' of exante, a month or so each.

I went from 13 stone to just over 11, but didn't do measurements so that's no help. I lost a lot of body fat though, from unexpected places like my back and arms, so t-shirts fit a lot better.

OfMe · 19/04/2019 14:39

Wow - that's amazing! I must have a really slow metabolism though, because I don't seem to have lost at such a fast rate this time around - I'll be well chuffed if I can lose a couple of stone by the screening!
