Anyone starting a new diet tomorrow? Want to be diet buddies? Im 14st7lb my heaviest ever at 5ft4. Need some motivation and willpower. Going to be doing meal substitution with shakes twice a day to kickstart my diet. Was meant to start early in January but it didn’t happen and I’ve slipped. Will be doing My Fitness Pal too.

So sorry to hear that BoggleSadThanks

If it makes you feel any better, my niece (not blood but I just call her that cos it's easier Grin) is going to be two next week and still can't bloody walk, or won't walk. We think she's just a lazy sod as she is PFB Grin

It's understandable that it brings back bad memories - try and think of happy ones like how excited you were for his precious tiny baby shoes Grin

recklessgran · 09/04/2019 23:10

Hello girls - sorry for being MIA. Not feeling great - only a cold but also had some blood tests last week and apparently thyroid is screwed which might explain why it's so hard to lose weight. Got to wait for a call back from the doc within 5 days to discuss apparently.
Diet wise I'm bored to death. A bag of cheddars and some cheese for lunch and chicken salad for dinner. Weigh day tomorrow and I'm expecting a slight gain. Got to get my head back into this!
@Tinsel hope you're enjoying your holiday, relationship woes not withstanding. Hang on in there if he's a nice, kind bloke as it could just be because your heads not in the right place yet.
@YouBoggle I remember the feeling you have about your DS's development. My DD1 didn't sit up until she was 15 months and I was SO proud when she finally managed it but of course all the other 15 month olds were running around so my DDs achievement was completely meaningless to everyone except us. Be proud of how far you and DS have come - he will get there and it will definitely be worth all your hard work, love, angst and all the rest in the end.

YouBoggleMyMind · 09/04/2019 23:22

Thank you Reckless and Tinsel. I knew I came to the right place for supper when I wrote that post. Most days have been good, I've not felt low for a long time and it kinda took me by surprise. I think that's why it feels worse. Tomorrow is a new day.

Sorry to hear about your thyroid Reckless, do you know what that means long term or do you need to wait for more details?

Hope you're enjoying your holiday Tinsel, it's cold and rainy here 👎🏻

YouBoggleMyMind · 09/04/2019 23:23

Haha supper! Freudian slip! Obviously I meant support!! Not supper!

YouBoggleMyMind · 09/04/2019 23:25

Also I didn't cave and drink anything. I just ate one extra cupcake instead... proud that I didn't cave!
Still hoping for a small loss tomorrow 🤞🏻

TinselAndKnickers · 10/04/2019 09:12

Ohh sorry to hear that reckless hope you feel better soon, and find out details asap! You have so much willpower and are doing so wellSmile

Well done Boggle on resisting the booze, that's clear that you're gaining more control!

I am enjoying the holiday thanks even though the weather is nuts! Storm one minute and 23 degrees the next.

I'm skipping weigh day this week as I can't face it Blush

YouBoggleMyMind · 10/04/2019 10:14

12st 5.2lbs this morning so a small loss of 0.4lbs for me. Swear that cupcake did it 😂

TinselAndKnickers · 10/04/2019 10:49

Well done!! That's great Grin

recklessgran · 10/04/2019 12:55

Good afternoon.
Weigh Day Wednesday
Last week 13 st 2.5lbs
Today exactly the same.
Could be worse - was expecting a gain so under the circumstances I'm happy with that.
Must try harder though!
Not too surprised or worried about the thyroid-just waiting to see what they say. Actually I'm hoping that it's the cause of all the bone/joint pain I have that stops me from being more active but we shall see in due course I guess.
@YouBoggle I think you really are nailing this alcohol thing - it's difficult isn't it. It sounds as though in the past you've had a drink to help with stress but you've really got on top of that now so I think you should be VERY PROUD of yourself.
@Tinsel sorry you've had rain but hope when the sun shines you're making the most of it. [I'm still jealous!] Definitely no weighing on holiday you chump! Just enjoy yourself as sadly you'll be back to reality before you know it.
Hope everyone is having a good day. Will update later when I know what I'm going to eat - DH is doing the paintwork in the kitchen ahead of the new flooring being fitted tomorrow so I can't get in there at the moment. [It's tiny!]

TinselAndKnickers · 10/04/2019 16:38

Well done you two! A good week Smile

Hopefully you get some answers soon reckless and I'm jealous of your kitchen revamp!

I actually haven't eaten TOO badly, and I haven't been snacking which is a plus!

YouBoggleMyMind · 10/04/2019 22:26

Haha Reckless just called you a chump Tinsel GrinGrinGrinGrin

Have had a non tracked day today and I'm cool with that. Back to it tomorrow 🙌🏻

TinselAndKnickers · 10/04/2019 22:57

I thought that was funny too Grin a day off is okay! You sound so much more positive Smile I'm actually missing the gym! How bad is that😱

YouBoggleMyMind · 10/04/2019 23:18

Missing Amanda more like GrinGrinGrin

I woke up anxious today and haven't felt like that for a long time so the day didn't start off well but have a good day with some family today and saw my 2 bed friends for dinner this evening. Home made veggy lasagne and garlic bread with treacle tart and cream for afters. Yum!

recklessgran · 11/04/2019 01:26

Well, I'm still up working so thought I'd do a quick update before I get to bed.
Ha!Ha! @YouBoggle - bed mates made me laugh out loud.
@Tinsel chump equals term of endearment......honestly!
Today I had toast and marmite for lunch and a big slice of ham off the bone with 2 fried eggs for dinner followed by a banana. I've just had some more toast at my desk as it's the middle of the night and I'm starving! [Probably shouldn't have done that as I'm trying to stick to the eating window.]
Tomorrow will be busy here as we are having the kitchen floor put down and the plumber to fit the new dishwasher. [Yippee!!]. Been without one for the last 2 years since we downsized and I have missed it SO much. We have removed a base cupboard to fit one in because I'm so sick of the kitchen looking a permanent mess - not to mention having to wash up as well. DH likes washing up but can't put his hands in very hot water so that bothers me somewhat. Of well, problem will be solved tomorrow!

YouBoggleMyMind · 11/04/2019 09:53

Hahahaha bed friends Blush obviously I mean BEST friends 👭

recklessgran · 11/04/2019 10:02

Ahh, that's lovely @YouBoggle - hope you're feeling better today. I'm sitting here trying to work out why my weight has stuck and wondering if the thyroid is the cause. I still need to lose about 2 stone but would be happy with one. Mmmm. I am going back to the 5:2 I think to see if that helps. So, 2 bowls of soup and gallons of tea for me today.
Still waiting for the call back from the docs about the blood test - could be up to 5 days apparently.

recklessgran · 11/04/2019 10:04

@MrsMummy - hope you're O.K. - getting worried that you're MIA.

TinselAndKnickers · 11/04/2019 14:40

Hope you are feeling better after your bed mates session Boggle GrinWink

Reckless omg a new dishwasher!! I couldn't live without mine, I bet you are so pleased. Fingers crossed you get results quickly.

MummyB hope you are okay and just enjoying your happy bubble SmileThanks

Today I have walked about 6 miles around Rhodes old town - it's bloody hot today!! Saw lots of stray kittens which were adorable and I gave them some ham from our pizza Grin booked onto a lot of gym classes next week ready to kick ass!

recklessgran · 11/04/2019 14:56

Ah @Tinsel - absolutely love Rhodes old town - all those little cobbled avenues full of shops.I can picture it so clearly in my mind. Glad it's hot there and hope you're making the most of it. Although it's sunny here it feels freezing to me.
Shit! I have mindlessly eaten two packets of mini cheddars at my desk.
Back to the drawing board!

TinselAndKnickers · 11/04/2019 15:33

I love mini cheddars!!

Sorry to bore you but here's some pics.. the cats were so cute! Lots were blind

Few more -- Grin sooooo immature--

MrsMummyBx · 11/04/2019 15:40

Hi ladies really sorry for being MIA - work has been really busy and then my DS has got a funny tummy again! We were meant to be going away today but going to go on Saturday - at least I can get DH to drive then rather than driving north by myself, men are useful for some things Grin

Just catching up on everyone’s posts.
@tinsel I hope you’re enjoying your hols and not worrying too much about you and DP. I have found that if I’m not sure about something, something usually happens to clarify things one way or the other.

@boggle really sorry to hear that you’ve been feeling down. I’m sure your little one is just gorgeous and will be on their feet in no time! Sending you big hugs Flowers

@reckless hope you get some clarity on your thyroid. After the birth of DS I felt TERRIBLE like the couldn’t move off the sofa variety, and went to the doc as knew something had to be wrong. I thought I was anaemic or something but the GP organised a blood test and said she hadn’t ever seen results like it and how was I actually functioning. Anyway, long story short, I went through some months trying to get my dosage right and now feel SO MUCH better. Tabs for life but it’s just a daily part of routine and is probably one of the easier medical problems to solve as they can just give you hormones to replace those that your body doesn’t produce. It really does affect everything though (I was so forgetful and I didn’t understand why) but hope you get it all sorted, just give it time Flowers

YouBoggleMyMind · 11/04/2019 16:50

Glad you're ok Mummy!

Tinsel, you have my sense of humour c==3

Reckless, I love Mini Cheddars and there are worse things to eat! Don't be hard on yourself. Can imagine the waiting for the call is horrible Sad

I got on the scales this morning and I'm 12st 4.8lbs so that's 2lbs since 1st April. Not bad hey!

recklessgran · 11/04/2019 18:13

Relieved to hear from you @MrsMummy and glad it's only because you've been busy that you've been quiet.
@YouBoggle that is absolutely brilliant. You must be so pleased!
@Tinsel loving the pics - sky and sea SO blue. Brilliant.
About the thyroid - got to have the test repeated in 3 weeks so until then nothing will be done apparently. TSH 0.01 is what the problem is. Will need to get a referral to an endocrinologist if the retest is the same. I'm not worried as in the scheme of things don't think it's serious but I do like to understand the implications if you know what I mean.
DGC are here so I'm cooking them pizza and chips and got a bargain chocolate fresh cream flake cake thingy in Tescos so they're gonna love that.
Soup for me.

TinselAndKnickers · 11/04/2019 20:58

Glad you're okay MummyB!

Boggle well done!! Smashing it gal.

Reckless hope you had a lovely time with your DGC Smile

Total of 7.5 miles walked today - the chub rub is BURNING BlushGrin
