kami, i know it sounds as if the two weeks will never end, but i promise you they will. we all went through the two week induction, and it is hard. looking back now, i dont know how i did it. it is just sooo restrictive.
what i will say though is that it is its very restrictivness that makes it possible. i think we all go thorugh our binge cycles now because we dont have that two week deadline, or release date in mind anymore. and i know that my binging is dependant on what is happening in my life. sof or example, this evenings binging was post a&e trauma, sitting hter for three hours and they sstill didnt do anything as was too late etc. and dsis who had the older kids had cooked lovely meal and insisted i eat soething.

Cyclon, that's why we're Carboholics Anonymous....as in Alcoholics Anonymous, as in addicted to carbs....
I hope everything's alright re; your A&E trauma.

Kami, I'm still basically doing induction months down the line, as I find that once I give myself even an inch I tend to grab a mile and stuff myself so to speak.

You can have fantasic salads on induction;

Feta cheese, lettuce/watercress, small amount tomato, cucumber, small amount onion and red pepper, topped with home made lemon dressing (olive oil, lemon juice, dijon mustard, herbs and white wine vinegar)

Smoked mackerel on wilted spinach/watercress

If you want to drink tea with milk, try soya milk. I've been using it for ages now. Just check that you've got a low carb one (about 0.2g per 200ml) and that it's unsweetened.

Decaff coffee is okay, again with either soya or cream.

Stir fry broccoli, courgette and a bit of onion and garlic, add a drop of soy sauce and squeeze lemon juice over it.

If you like sweetness, then get some granulated Splenda.

I do agree on the fruit front. I usually crave grapefruit, but you just have to see this as something you are doing for a finite amount of time.

I'll have a think and come up with more suggestions.

I've been at it for a year and a half, excluding planned breaks from it for a couple of weeks each in Summer and at Christmas.

Realistically I've sort of maintained a loss of one and a half stone since then, but most of that was lost in the first few months. I've just been losing and gaining the same half a stone for over a year now.

It's so disheartening as I've still got another 1 1/2 to 2 stone to go.

I find it so very difficut during the summer as we grow all sorts of fruit and veg in the garden, and I have to cook it for dh and dd.

Years ago I was very succesful on an elimination diet (was suffering badly with IBS) and keep wondering whether to go back to that. I simply excluded all sugar, wheat, potatoes, cow dairy products and bugger, there was something else and I can't remember what. Gah!
I lost loads of weight.

Ah, hell. I'll stick with this a bit longer, but if I don't start showing some progress then I might have to re-think.

Thing that's annoying is that I'm not cheating at all

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 28/06/2007 20:21

you're probably right.

I used to go walking every morning but it's too midgy at the moment.

I'll have to get that Helen workout forom the library again and prance around like a prat

Can anyone recommend any good workout dvd's that I could perhaps get cheap off Ebay, but that also don't require too much jumping around, bearing in mind the ceiling is very low and I can't fully extend my arm above my head without hitting the roof, and that I only have a narrow area to move about in????

Sally, NO.

You are mistaken.

If you look very carefully you will see that the name on the crisps is actually "SullyEatsSharpStrewthBerry", so they are not for you after all

You did pass your assignment though.

Think how extra pissed off you'll be after you've eaten them.

Well I'm still managing to stick to it, but the true test will be tonight when I go out for a meal..........

Crotchety · 29/06/2007 19:33

Sigh...must get a new season ticket for the wagon...
It's psychological war with myself now - if my body would just give me a teeny bit of encouragement and drop a pound or two I'd feel like doing it properly, but this supreme indifference my system has to whether I eat carbs or whether I don't is boring!
