Bleurgh. I've just had a horrible tea.

Fried onions, garlic, turkey mince, mixed with blue cheese and a splash of cream - piled on to of three big flat mushrooms and baked in the oven.

I thought it would be lovely.

Awful. Didn't have anything else so had to eat it.

Not had nearly enough water.

OrmIrian · 25/06/2007 19:40

Turkey is horrible unless roasted with all the stuff, cold with salad or in a pie or curry. Minced it is the poo of the devil. So there....

I hate it when experiments fail though...

oggsfrog · 25/06/2007 20:01

It was a particularly rancid combination, and it had the effect of making me poo like the devil

Every time I buy turkey pieces I swear I will never do so again. Then I see the price of free range chicken breasts and succumb. But never again.

cylonbabe · 25/06/2007 20:15

turkey has got my be my least favourite meat type thing. onlyl ever have it at christmas dineer. and then is yummy withall the trimmings. mmmmm....

Kami - you need to learn the secret of The Scones. And you can put Lurpak in them! Even if they do go damp...

OK I'm not sure now - thought Lurpak was ordinary butter. The Scones are basically egg, butter and ground almonds so it's probably the ground almonds that make them dampish in the end.

It goes 100g butter, melted, beat in an egg. Add enough ground almonds to make stiff mixture (I reckon a big bag - is it 200g?)
Either dollop into paper cases or onto greaseproof or someone here does it flat and slices it up later, and bake in moderate oven until brown - say 15 mins. I tend to get 8-10 out of this.

Eat with cream cheese, or cream, or butter or whatever!

Morning.

Well, I'm still sticking to it but to be honest am totally fed up.
The scales are sticking again (I can't even get back to 12stone) and the garden is producing carrots, and potatoes .

cylonbabe · 27/06/2007 10:33

i am not a gardener oggy, but i have to ask. what possessed you to plant potatos? they have to be eaten now.
n fact can i have some?

i think i am officially at the weight i will be. asusming i dont gain it all back that is. i have been sooo good for three days now. but this morning i had weetabix for breakfast, and the kids leftover toast. it' all i can do to stop myself making me some toast.
i go through cycles of being super virtuous, followed by carb binges. anyone else do this? the thought of eating chicken righ tnowt fills mwith dread. i want som bread!

Crotchety · 27/06/2007 10:56

Yes - cycles definitely. I get very resentful actually that the weight/inch loss seems not to shift regardless. Doesn't your body realise you need some encouragement?? At the moment I can eat carbs or not eat carbs - either way the weight stays exactly the same. Probably the meat fest is necessary.
