Would anyone be interested in an Exante support thread?

Hi everyone

Following on from the thread about the programme about 'crash diets'. I am intending to use Exante to kick start my weight loss, initially for two weeks but possibly longer if it goes well. I will probably be starting in a week or so (I have been unwell and currently getting over that before trying to lose weight).

Would anyone who is thinking of doing this or already following the plan be interested in a support thread?

xx

I found it quite hard to get back on it after one day off so I wouldn't want to regularly stop/start but it's whatever works for you. You can do 5:2 with it, or 4:3, which might work better for you?

I lost 13lbs in just over 2 weeks so I'm happy with that but I am weaning myself off of it now as I know I couldn't have sustained it for the month as originally intended.

ChoccyJules I had 3 stone to lose (now 2!) and just wanted something to kick start my weight loss, I'm not craving sweet stuff and rubbish anymore so I feel like it has re-set me somehow! I think all you can do is try it for a couple of weeks and see how you get on. And possibly speak to your gp beforehand in terms of your medication?

I do the 800 calorie man plan but sometimes I don’t have the full amount and will just have three shakes or bars. Other days I will have an omelette and some cucumber sticks. I have been doing it for about four weeks but did have a couple of days off. I find it easy to do and I drink a lot of water which helps. I am rarely hungry and I have never felt better. I manage to exercise on it too but if I ever feel like I need more food I will have it if I have exercised but so far I have been ok.

It’s not for everyone. Some people will find it too hard. But for me it is great. I needed to see quick results to boost my confidence which it has and I will keep doing it for quite a while yet although I have an event mid August and going away in September. Because I am doing this I find there is more incentive to not go mad on days I can’t go the plan so that is progress too.

And is it ok to whisper that I would really miss wine?!

How are you all doing?

Interesting to hear you are weaning yourself off it MagentaRocks - some people seem to do this for months and I wondered how they manage that?!

I am having a bit of reassess and pan today. I've messed around for weeks, mainly because I don't like the products but thinking of giving it another go. I'm really worried it's now too late though - I go on holiday 16 weeks. I was desperate to lose the weight I needed to before as I haven't had a proper holiday in years and I would love to feel good. I then got ill and put on lots of weight and I would now have to lose at least 4 stone to feel ok-ish about myself. Do I have enough time to make a real difference??

You’ve got plenty of time to make a big loss, some people seem to lose a stone per month in some cases. Just choose food you will enjoy. I liked the Apple porridge and bars the most so far. Lovely with coffee, even in this heat. I bought some sugar free caramel syrup and tried it with fizzy water and ice, tasted like cream soda and a proper treat.

I’ve not really lost at all really this week, 0.4lb. I feel firmer in places but my body seems to be holding on to the weight/water. I’ve started spotting and shedding hair which shows my body reacting in other ways. I’m trying to keep to 1000 calories max with one healthy low carb meal on top of the three packs. I only have a stone to lose so know it will be slow going. Less exercise now the kids are off school but I made it to the gym yesterday and will consider a run later plus gym tomorrow.

It did get easier after day five but I don’t believe I’m in ketosis. The meals are far too high in carbs, I’m pushing 80-85g of carbs compared to my low carb diet of 20-30g. Keto sticks agree. However I’m ok with that as I won’t have the glycogen/water regain as I start back to normal healthy food.

I have a little holiday in three weeks so will see how I go. I’ve ordered enough food for the holiday and one week after. I will treat myself on holiday but the plan should minimise how much I stray. Eg an ice cream instead of a bar and a big treat dinner meaning I reduce to two packs only. There’s a pool and gym where we’re going so I can try to keep up the exercise. I just have to be careful to time exercise so I’ve eaten shortly before, bars are best.

I don’t think I am in ketosis either, I have 50-70g of carbs so not super low carb. I am having a couple of days of just having three meal replacements and nothing extra. I want to make up for not losing last week. I have six weeks until I go away and hoping to lose almost two stone by then.

I had laser LIPO yesterday and I am having ice LIPO on Monday and then some more laser sessions. Apparently it aids weight loss if you exercise after the laser one so hoping that will give me a boost too. I just need that something extra to give me good results so I boost my confidence and will feel more confident going to the gym more often which will then mean a bigger weight loss.

It will be interesting to hear how the treatments go Magenta - I read up on these and the results seemed mixed with real lipo being advised. I have some more stubborn areas so it’s tempting. But I need to decide on a nose job first, for medical reasons but could have a tweak to straighten outside too.

I did my run. First time from home rather than near work. It’s still far too hot. My four week supply arrived so I have five weeks of food and will hopefully be in a position to start moving back to normal low carb in September. Trying to reassure myself I’m losing fat even if the scales refuse to budge. Waiting on the “whoosh”.

I will report back if it works. I read mixed reviews too but I figure it is worth a go as the cost verses surgery cost is vast. Of course I don’t expect it to be a miracle cure. I just hope it is enough to boost what I am already doing.

Exercise is hard in this heat. After my laser treatment I did a big cardio session of just over an hour. You have to exercise within four hours and knowing exercising would boost results made me keep going when I was knackered, so even if it means losing more from doing more exercise it is a bonus.

Have you tried mixing the shakes into greek yogurt instead? I'm doing meal replacements with low sugar protein powder and find them a million times more palatable in yogurt plus they keep you fuller for longer.

I lost 3 stone when diagnosed as t2 diabetic, but have been the same weight for the last 3 years now and am really fed up with it. I need to lose another 4 stone at least. So I've been doing protein powder in shake with unsweetened soya milk or with the greek yogurt plus having a normal evening meal but no snacking or alcohol. Lost 6lbs this week so am very pleased.

Hi can I join you?
I have 3 stone to lose and I'm about to start exante. I lost 3 stone doing slimming world just after dc4 was born (3 years ago) i started taking antidepressants 18 months ago and I've gained back a stone and really struggled with eating far too much sweet stuff.
I really feeel like I need to reset my body I'm slowly coming of the ads so I'm hoping this might help me to start to try and shift the weight.
I put my order in 10 days ago and it's still not here so I've just messaged them to find out what's going on. I go away in 3 weeks so was hoping to have lost a few lbs before I go!

Just to let fellow Exante users know, I had an email before saying there is 45% off until end of tomorrow if you quote JULY45 in voucher/offer box at payment stage.
They also seem to have a greater variety of shakes finally back in stock now.
