What didn't you eat today?

I Thought I'd start a thread for those who know the theory of healthy eating and, like me, probably do eat 3 healthy well-balanced meals each day, but who also manage to eat a ton of crap in between.

I don't need diet advice, I need willpower. I thought it might be motivating to record what I'd resisted. I have 1 stone 11lbs to lose.

So today I said no to deep fried chicken, second portions and a flake. I also didn't take my purse out when I dropped dd's friend home, so I didn't nip to the shop for a treat.

Anyone else want to join in?

Well done purple!

Did you still have the same energy levels as usual?

I find that if I have a carb free breakfast then I need carbs at lunch. But then if I have too many I'm sluggish all afternoon!

Carbs are so difficult to get right!

Yes I do Glass but I've got magnesium supplements on standby in case that changes!

Rather than willpower, you need to use your WHYpower - be really clear and specific about why you want to lose weight
That's so true Blondie1984, I shall try to use that approach, and stay out of the kitchen til teatime! Except for putting the veg on.. obviously Grin

Thought I’d drop back in as it’s now day 9 since I changed my diet - still no sugar in any coffee, I’ve also kept my calories under 1300 every day and carbs under 100! Drinking water and I have dodged cakes and biscuits at work and the chocolate and bread aisles in a supermarket - feeling quite proud of myself Smile. I’ve been using an app that another MNer recommended to me to track my eating, it’s been such a fantastic help, it’s kept me very honest!

Hope everyone else is doing well? Sounds like you are!

Aargh, no Internet for a week! it's been a killer, have had to find other things to keep my fingers busy or they find themselves in the fridge.

Have been not eating tea this week. I have a very healthy but large lunch every day and so am not hungry at tea time but eat anyway as sometimes its the only time we all get to see each other. I always thought it would be a bit of an issue to sit there just picking at the salad, but no one has really noticed or commented. And I still haven't been hungry all evening. We're so conditioned to 3 meals a day aren't we instead of just listening to our bodies.

In other news I've been managing to resist all other sneaky snacks and sainsbury's have done me the most massive favour by moving all the treats from the checkouts and replacing them with non-edible World Cup stuff.

I feel like I'm having to work less hard to not eat anything now I've been at it a couple of weeks. This thread is really helping - it's great to hear how you're all getting on. When I weighed on weds I had lost a further 3 lbs so 1st 7 still to lose.

keep up the good work folks! Halo's for you all.

Today I didn't eat the left over peanut m&ms I just spotted on the shelf and had forgotten about. Made a healthy snack instead.

I seem to have a 3.30-4.30pm window after picking up dc from school when I just devour everything I see. Especially Nutella sandwiches with butter too! I've not had bread for a week!

Does anyone else eat lettuce for one meal and wonder why they're not thin yet? My brain is seriously thick when I let it be Blush

On Monday, it will be a month that I've had no takeaways whatsoever. No Chinese, no Indian and no McDonald's/KFC!

Also been a month with no crisps or chocolate, bar on a friday night when I have a weight watchers biscuit and a pack of snack a jacks!

Feel a little bad today after having chicken goujons and chips for lunch at soft play, but meh.

I didn't eat loads of sandwiches and sausage rolls at a kids' party this afternoon, which I usually do.

I didn't snack at all between meals.

I didn't have any chocolate after dinner.

Not a bad day really. (I did have one scoop of rich vanilla ice cream and 2 gin and tonics but small portions of meals all day).

Well done everyone!! 👍🏻

Birthday cake in the breakout area at work this week, it was calling to me, in a seductively chocolately voice.....arrgghh Cake but I didn’t give in!

Day 16 for me now and I’ve lost 9.5lb, I can’t tell you how pleased I am as my change in eating habits (reducing carbs, calories and fat intake) is in the hope of reversing a recent diabetes diagnosis as well as shedding weight. Got a long way to go yet but like you Pascall, I’m getting used to it and finding it easier.

I've had an awful week.
I've made the decision to have my beloved dog PTS tomorrow so have been eating and drinking LOADS this week because I've been feeling sorry for myself Sad
Starting again after the weekend, I've ordered myself some headphones so I can start Couch to 5K next week so we shall see how that goes!!

Well done everyone on their progress!

Oh GlassSuppers I’m sorry to hear about your dog, I had to make the same decision last year, it’s heart wrenching and I feel for you Flowers

@GlassSuppers Sad Flowers I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

No weightloss for me this week, but also none gained so I'll take that. I was quite on it with the exercise last week, but less so this week.

Have had some really good moments this week, top of the list was nipping into Morrisons and NOT buying anything from the massive amount of chocolates they pile up near the tills at 3 for a £1. I find that soooo hard to resist.

Have also not had any of the kids crap snacks that they bring into the house (I won't buy it for them but it still appears).
I'm still trying hard to not eat until I'm hungry. I'm mostly managing it, but I think It'll be a long time until it's my default setting. I am noticing that I'm feeling full more and more before I've finished my meal. My next goal needs to be to listen to that and not eat everything on my plate.

I baked brownies for my DD involving amongst other things melting 400 g of dark chocolate adding 250g of butter, 460 g of sugar and 6 eggs.
DH and DD told me they turned out great - but I have NOT tasted them.

I had grapes and a carrot instead.

@GreatWesternValkyrie

I forced DD to help - she did all the spoon and bowl licking and the clean up afterwards.
I was rewarded though: under 70 kg (just)

Prokupatus my word! Gold star for you! I would definitely have eaten one.

I seem to have cracked not 'treating' myself when I go shopping on my own. Ran a few messages for work on Monday and didn't buy anything to eat. Normally I would at least have had a Marsbar.

Also haven't had any snacks between meals all week. Today that meant saying no to a flapjack, fruit juice, full sugar lemonade and cherries.
No weight loss or gain, but I got my period so that would explain that. Always very irregular and can never lose weight the week before or the week during.

Have a big event in work next week and would like to look smart so knuckling down to it now though I'm focusing more on changing behaviours than losing weight - just hoping that will happen as a happy consequence Grin

Well done on your jog @GlassSuppers I find exercise so difficult to fit in. And I don't really like doing it, which doesn't help either.

I have just thrown out a large piece of chocolate cake rather than eat it. No one else wanted it, but I knew I would cave if it just sat there, so it's gone Shock

Hi all, this is so motivating! Thanks OP!

Today I didn’t bake cookies even though I usually jump at the opportunity when husband mentions them. I had no sugary snacks all day. Stayed away from toast except for one in the morning. Drank lots of water and stayed away from sweetened drinks.

Only ate healthy soups , salad. I ate half the portion of fries. I need to work on eliminating fries.

I slept instead of solving my sleep deprevated sugar rush , I tooo a nap during the day to restore energy without resorting to food.

If I keep this up I might just about start fitting in my prepregnancy dresses .

Will weigh myself now !
