What didn't you eat today?

I Thought I'd start a thread for those who know the theory of healthy eating and, like me, probably do eat 3 healthy well-balanced meals each day, but who also manage to eat a ton of crap in between.

I don't need diet advice, I need willpower. I thought it might be motivating to record what I'd resisted. I have 1 stone 11lbs to lose.

So today I said no to deep fried chicken, second portions and a flake. I also didn't take my purse out when I dropped dd's friend home, so I didn't nip to the shop for a treat.

Anyone else want to join in?

It’s been a while since I posted on this thread but I reached a milestone at the weekend so thought I’d share my continued “I didn’t eat...” progress!

I’ve lost 2 stone!! A number of my diabetes symptoms have lessened or gone completely too! As an absolutely hopeless dieter, I’m really surprised at myself although I know it was the shock of the diabetes diagnosis that gave me the incentive and a good food tracking app that’s kept me honest. Still a way to go but I definitely feel healthier.

So, what have I not eaten? No sugar in my coffee since I started, no cakes, no mars bars - but I have found some great low calorie, lowing fast/carb peanut & chocolate bars to satiate the need for a treat now and then!

Hope you’re all getting on well Smile

Valkyrie that's brilliant! keep up the good work.

I did eat the marsbar in the end and then replaced with a naice bar of chocolate with lasted till yesterday.

Otherwise, I haven't really been doing too well, but now back on it with a vengeance and have been refusing all the nice things, snacks, seconds and treats for the last 3 days. No further weight loss, but no further gain either.

today I have said no to toast, lunch at work (had healthier one at home), seconds and biscuits. Also made it round the shops twice without getting myself anything.

How's everyone else doing? Want to hop back on?

That mars bar will be all melted and squidgy after all that time Pascall - I’d struggle not to eat it, I love them like that!!

I went out for lunch a few days ago at a carvery and didn’t go back for more of anything, despite the huge temptation of really good roast potatoes and delicious gravy!

It’s now 5 weeks since I was diagnosed with diabetes and I’ve lost 16.5lbs - I have the odd day that’s a bit of a struggle to ignore all the goodies out there, 10 calorie jellies are my best friend these days! Smile

Have a fab weekend all!

Today I didn't eat any of the chocolate in the pantry, or any ice cream that was in the freezer.
I didn't get anything from the takeaway when dp ordered stuff.
I made myself chicken wrapped in bacon medallions with a salad with roasted peppers, spinach, new potatoes, capers and olives. I made a healthy dressing with balsamic and lazy chilli.
It was bloody lovely.
Oh and I didn't have any of the prosecco he opened either.

I didn't buy a chocolate croissant when I got a coffee for the train this morning.

I didn't eat the chips with my fish burger at lunch.

I didn't eat ice cream at the interval of the matinee I went to.

I didn't have cake afterwards and I didn't take the tube to the station but got a santander bike instead.

I didn't have another drink in the garden this evening when I got home, just water.

Actually a lot of willpower exercised today!! Quite proud seeing it all written down!!

Writing this now instead of walking to the kitchen to eat a (potentially box of...)

Tunnock's tea cakes.

It's like the buggers are calling to me.

I didn’t order a deliveroo despite pouring over the menus for at least an hour. I ended up making oven baked fish and chips which, believe it or not Was the healthier option

Hi all!

Just back from seeing my Mum tonight and a managed not to eat any cake there at all, not a crumb - which is pretty good going as her house is practically made of cake!

I’m on day 24 now I think and have lost 12lb - am really hoping I can make it a stone by this time next week!

I’m having my first severe hankering though as it’s a Saturday night with a movie to watch shortly - traditIonal dairy milk munching territory! I don’t have any thank goodness!

I’m another that doesn’t like to exercise, but it’s going to have to get introduced at some point soon.

Have a fab weekend all Smile

I spent ages reading the sugar content of chocolate bars in Tesco. I wanted to choose the lowest sugar one.

Instead, I put them back and walked away and didn't buy any.

I also didn't eat the birthday cakes slices from two kids' party bags.

And I'm on my period.

Yes I will be accepting medals, thank you Smile

Hi all, this is so motivating! Thanks OP!

Today I didn’t bake cookies even though I usually jump at the opportunity when husband mentions them. I had no sugary snacks all day. Stayed away from toast except for one in the morning. Drank lots of water and stayed away from sweetened drinks.

Only ate healthy soups , salad. I ate half the portion of fries. I need to work on eliminating fries.

I slept instead of solving my sleep deprevated sugar rush , I tooo a nap during the day to restore energy without resorting to food.

If I keep this up I might just about start fitting in my prepregnancy dresses .

Will weigh myself now !

I have just thrown out a large piece of chocolate cake rather than eat it. No one else wanted it, but I knew I would cave if it just sat there, so it's gone Shock

Prokupatus my word! Gold star for you! I would definitely have eaten one.

I seem to have cracked not 'treating' myself when I go shopping on my own. Ran a few messages for work on Monday and didn't buy anything to eat. Normally I would at least have had a Marsbar.

Also haven't had any snacks between meals all week. Today that meant saying no to a flapjack, fruit juice, full sugar lemonade and cherries.
No weight loss or gain, but I got my period so that would explain that. Always very irregular and can never lose weight the week before or the week during.

Have a big event in work next week and would like to look smart so knuckling down to it now though I'm focusing more on changing behaviours than losing weight - just hoping that will happen as a happy consequence Grin

Well done on your jog @GlassSuppers I find exercise so difficult to fit in. And I don't really like doing it, which doesn't help either.

@GreatWesternValkyrie

I forced DD to help - she did all the spoon and bowl licking and the clean up afterwards.
I was rewarded though: under 70 kg (just)

I baked qbrownies for my DD involving amongst other things melting 400 g of dark chocolate

That’s bravery above and beyond....I’d have really struggled not to run my finger around the bowl! Shock
