Well done fizz and not. Happy holidays.

A slight loss for me this week so far. My average is down from 151.4 to 150. I'm loving the averages. It's so motivating to keep it down every day.

Nearly the weekend!

Therealjudgejudy · 13/04/2018 12:53

Hi everyone.

Well done on all the losses.

Had a very productive gym session this morning. Today is my day off so I'm just at home doing some freelance work. I've decided that I'm relaxing the diet today as I'm going to my parents this evening for an Indian. My dad told me he has Apple pie and cream for afters so I'm going to be all about that Grin. My diet all week is pretty good so I'm going to eat what I want today and not feel any guilt.

I will be back in the gym tm and I've a planned walk in the afternoon so hopefully the rain will stay away. Any plans for the weekend slendasistas?

Not2bObvious · 13/04/2018 12:54

That’s really good kick, imho the average is a game changer😉 The fear of the flux is no more!

SesameSparkle · 13/04/2018 14:23

fizz congrats on the new low, amazing work!

hoola how did the cake turn out?

kick good work on the averages

judy well done on the gym and enjoy the night off!

I think averages probably are a better way to go, cos having reached a low of 10-2 at the start of the week, I was back up again to 10-3 this morning. I’d really like to see some better results. Anyway, I’ve done a HIIT session this morning and hopefully I can keep this weekend a sensible one. I’m going out for lunch tomorrow and then dinner Sunday, but I’m going to try to aim for a single course, with exercise on both days.

TefalTester123 · 13/04/2018 14:41

Well done to all on your losses. I haven't made a cake for a while, as it's fatal for the diet. I think Mary Berry & Paul Hollywood have a lot to answer for. I don't have an easy way of doing 7 day average, but am looking back on MFP to my weight 7 days earler, which is equally motivating (usually I'm down by a pound).

Moved my running to outside this week, definitely changed the muscles it uses as my thighs are feeling it. However, managed to keep going for half an hour which I'm really pleased with as I thinking I'd need to do couch to 5K but don't think I'll bother now. Just plan to try and run a bit further/faster each time I go out.

FizzingWhizzbee · 13/04/2018 15:07

Great work on the run, Tefal - have you thought about trying your local parkrun? It's a great way to measure your progress and great for motivation too.

BitOutOfPractice · 13/04/2018 16:16

Hello all. I have had a bonkers busy week with lots of socialising / mingling with clients and the weekend looks set to be the same. I cannot even think about the scales at the moment. Will get back on it on Monday. Though maybe I should weigh now as I've just given blood - that's got to be good for something hasn't it?

Tefal they say you should aim for no more than 10% increase a week with running. To me, that seems a lot. I aim for "edge it up a bit when I feel I can" school of dead scientific science Wink

BitOutOfPractice · 13/04/2018 16:17

And I 100% agree about ParkRun - marvellous invention it is!

OP posts:
BitOutOfPractice · 13/04/2018 16:18

And in other news I've just been asked if I'm "anxious about food" on another thread Grin

Yes have considered Parkrun. Did two outdoor runs this week. First one was measured at 3.7km, second time the tracker split it into two runs and lost a bit in the middle, but was about 4k. I think I'll keep going locally until I do 5k before starting Parkrun, especially as I know a few blokes locally who do it.

Not2bObvious · 14/04/2018 07:50

Another fan of Parkrun here, if I were you tefal is just do it in the next couple of weeks - if you can manage 3-4K you’ll get through it no bother and it gives you a benchmark. Get registered & jump in soon. Then you’ll have a time to work on. My pb is 31.15 I think, I got down from 37’something. Only took me 3 years haha! I don’t do it often enough. Once my back is better I’m going to go more regularly - that’s a new promise to myself. If my back ever improves, feel particularly sh*t today.
Weight up/down the last 3 days, 1 off, 1.2 on, crap like that. But thankfully using the averages method I’m looking at an ok loss on last week. Only drank 1 glass of wine last night & was bang on cals until I found the haribo🙄

lastqueenofscotland · 14/04/2018 07:56

I adore parkrun! I’m just getting ready for it right now!

You lot talk too much! Grin I literally haven't got the energy to catch up with PP.

I've had a couple of 'off' days so haven't really been sticking to the diet. Didn't leave the house go for a daily walk or drink nearly enough water and I didn't track any calories so there was no evidence. The weather is nice and sunny today so it spurred me on to get back on the wagon. I will weigh Monday morning and go from there. Will be food prepping and doing exercises 5 times per week. I feel thinner if that makes sense? And my clothes fit a tiny little bit better so I'm hopefully definitely on the right track.

And just in case anyone is confused I have name changed but kept a bit of a link so that I can still go by Maj Smile

SesameSparkle · 15/04/2018 08:02

Morning everyone

maj good luck with weigh in tomorrow

keep I haven't read those books, sorry

last how was park run? I'm also a fan, although find it a bit exhausting as having all those other runners around me makes me competitive run a little bit faster than is comfortable.

not get those hands out the haribo missus!

I had a big try on session yesterday, for my holiday in 3 weeks. There's still a handful of things I wish I owned in a 12 - like my 'perfect' shorts and a pretty zipped summer dress - I was 7lb lighter when I bought them last year. However there's still a lot that I can wear, which I was pleased about. I also saw 10-2 again this morning, despite a few slips yesterday. It's all in the right direction, but the lbs really are taking their time to come off Hmm

Not2bObvious · 15/04/2018 08:44

3 weeks to your holiday could well make the perfect clothes fit/sit much better sesame.
My average is down 1.5 on last week, on track to lose the holiday weight - although it’ll take another week or two.

poorpaws · 15/04/2018 22:19

Omg I gained 4lbs this week. This low curbing diet is ok until you have a week off then it flies back on. Diet starts again tomorrow.

It’s gone very quiet on here.

poorpaws · 15/04/2018 22:21

Low carbing, idiot!

twinkledag · 15/04/2018 22:23

I'll be joining you all again from tomorrow.

I went away and had IVF which worked then miscarried a week later Sad. But the world keeps turning so back to work and back to normality tomorrow and back on the diet. The IVF meds make you gain weight so I'm probably back to square one which I wouldn't have minded if I got a baby out of it.

Have planned eggs for breakfast and chicken salad for lunch. Soup for dinner.

Not2bObvious · 15/04/2018 22:44

I’m very sorry to hear that twinkle, I can’t imagine how hard that must be for you. Don’t be too hard on yourself, but I guess maybe focussing on losing a bit of weight might give you something to distract you a little? Apologies if that’s insensitive or stupid. I had an mc on my first pregnancy & I felt utterly bereft, felt like my skin had been peeled off, so raw & painful. And I was at my heaviest, made me feel worse again if at all possible. Anyway, nice to “see” you here & hoping you’re ok.
poorpaws - that does seem a recurring theme with LC. I know it’s popular but liveable....anyway stick to a deficit diet would be my advice. No one food or food group causes weight gain. Too much of anything does that. That’s my 2 cents.

SesameSparkle · 15/04/2018 22:49

Thanks not

I'm sure that wee extra will come off quickly enough poorpaws

Sorry for your loss twinkle Flowers

A decent day for me today. I went for a run and ate about 500 cals between breakfast and lunch. Then went to an Italian for my tea and had a plate of pasta and a small glass of wine. All within my allowance and the exercise calories are banked. Smile

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 15/04/2018 23:21

Twinkle Flowers so sorry to hear that. What a horrible experience. Be kind to yourself.

It's been a quiet weekend here. I'm looking forward to some sun this week.

Not2bObvious · 16/04/2018 07:45

And another week begins! Scales up as usual but marginally lighter than last Monday so that’s progress. Very bunged up, excuse me for saying, on the plus side some of the weekend will be that. Having nothing but health nightmares, v slow to heal but at last feeling a small amount of improvement. Have to get a dentist appointment now, that’s nearly pushed me completely over the edge. Like most people I’m rather anxious about the dentist but I have to go, nothing I can delay. So yeah, lots to feel 😔 about. Haven’t been to work in a week, although have managed a bit from home. Ouf, let’s hope everything turns around before I go loopy! Hope everyone is in great form for the week ahead. I’m determined to have a good week - it’s the one thing I can control😉

twinkledag · 16/04/2018 08:09

Thank you everyone Thanks

NanBoleyn · 16/04/2018 08:15

Hi everyone! A good week, down 2lbs to 10st 1 (starting at 10st 10 five weeks ago). Just under 5ft 2 and smallish frame so feel at best just under 9 st.
I have stuck to 1200 calories average on MFP so if have gone slightly over one day made sure that under the next. Eaten all my exercise calories!
Started logging my runs on Strava which I am finding really helpful. I now know my actual pace (rather than just slow!) so can use that to input my exercise more accurately on MFP. I've noticed that the calories used up for exercise seem a lot less generous than some of the figures used elsewhere which may explain why I am finding it easier this time to lose weight.
Am also making sure I record cups of tea and use of butter/oil on MFP which really adds up.
Only 5 weeks until I do half marathon so am hoping to go under 10st for next week. Anyone else training for an event?
Wishing everyone a good week!
