Hoola I think that a new hairdo is a great idea. I've just had mine cut off and love it. Once I've lost 3 stones I'll be a total stunner! Grin

Not2bObvious · 11/04/2018 19:27

Got some physio today sesame so feeling much more positive now I have a plan. I’ve exercises to do 5-7 times a day, that’ll take a bit of work but if it helps I’ll happily do it. So pleased it’s not my discs, just muscular. I have another session next week. And I was told to keep moving so no excuses not to get my walks in (and now himself won’t give out to me😉) No running for a week.
Ooh trying on the summer clothes, exciting! 3 weeks you can trim down a bit more no problem
teddy this is a new start - what went before is over. You could have done nothing! But do work on holding onto that feeling that this is the time you sort it, commit to it. You only get 1 life, time to make it the best you can😉

IheartCaptainHolt · 11/04/2018 21:26

Just dropping by to say 3lb off at WI tonight! That was a pleasant surprise

4st 1lb since I've been going to SlimmingWorld and 5st 5lb since I had DS2 in May.

MissingPanda · 11/04/2018 22:34

Evening. A long day at work means I got just under 9,000 steps in but I did manage 24 floors and it was cleaning day so no formal exercise but not sitting all day either.

Not hoping the physio has done your back some good.

Quim glad you're feeling better. I don't know how old you are but I find it takes considerably longer to recover from the excesses now than it used to do.

Iheart well done on the 3lb loss.

Hoola love the hair do. Keep thinking I'll have to get mine cut soon.

Sesame hope you managed to find something healthy(ish). I'm sure you'll succeed in losing some more before your holidays.

Teddy welcome and congrats on your loss.

Hounds you got to 10k once so you can do it again. I got to wk 5 r1 last year before going to Lanzarote then it fell apart but you managed the whole thing and then doubled it. I know what you mean about life getting in the way though.

Hope everyone else is doing okay.

QuimReaper · 11/04/2018 23:59

Smashed it today - I thought I wasn't going to be much above 10 but DH being disorganised meant I ended up on 19! Also downed absolutely loads of fluids. Feeling tentatively optimistic for Friday's weigh-in...

Oh and another thing! Yesterday I decided to try and intersperse hooping with a few core exercises - just a few crunches and planks - and today it hurt too much to do it again Shock Must've made a bit of an impact then even though I did hardly anything! I'll resume it tomorrow and hopefully I'll be able to do it every day by next week. I must be in shocking shape for such gentle exercise to cripple me like that.

Panda I'm only 29, it isn't fair! It's like my body knows I won't have my 20s as an excuse soon and it's started winding down Grin

Not2bObvious · 12/04/2018 08:10

Sounds like you’re on fire quim, you’re so lucky to be lovely & young, and got the weight under control. I spent too much of my 20’s/30’s/40’s (only a couple of them, age vanity kicking in!) faffing with the weight and it’s taken over my life. I’m not very overweight, technically a stone or so but I have been closer to 3.5 overweight and 6 stone overweight while pregnant. The feeling stays with you, I sometimes have to remind myself 1.5- 2 of my stones have been gone off for quite some time. It’s my messing around that’s halted the last bit.
Down another smidge so my average is only 1.5 up on preholiday weight. Company over for dinner which is always tricky, makes it nearly impossible to not 🍷but I’m going to try my best for once. 1 more day without drink calories would really help.

FizzingWhizzbee · 12/04/2018 08:30

That's an amazing loss, Captain - really inspiring!

I was a little bit up today, but still only to 12st 6.8, despite being a bit naughty and nibbly yesterday. I definitely ate some of my exercise calories, but not all of them, so hopefully won't have impacted too much.

Today is a weird one. We have a meeting this morning to hear about our new company strategy since being taken over a few months ago. It is widely believed this is code for 'significant redundancies', although my boss (who knows all!) has heavily hinted my job is safe. That is absolutely not a given though, so it is still very nerve wracking. On top of that it is my last day before our holiday so 1) redundancy would be a lovely farewell giftHmm and 2) temptation to a glass of 'I'm on holiday' wine will be high. I expect to be so busy packing that I won't have much time to indulge - so hopefully my average is safeSmile

Hoolahoophop · 12/04/2018 08:51

Hope your job is safe fizz my SIL was made redundant just before her holiday.....she decided not to mother going back to work out her redundancy just took an extended holiday and still got paid!

Amazing work captain and quim bit yourlime the thread mummy in my head, helping us all out wish.....the benefit of your experience. I hope we help you out in return. You have obviously come a long way.

I'm planning ahead today. Taking MIL and the dcs out for lunch so my usual milky raisin porridge was made with just water today and in sweetened. Bot so tasty but Hopefully it will still keep me full till lunch but just 150cal

QuimReaper · 12/04/2018 10:07

Just realised the first line of my post made no sense whatsoever - thought I wasn't going to be much above 10 thousand steps but ended up over 19...

Gawd Fizz that sounds nervewracking, very best of luck! I honestly don't know how you can even countenance forgoing the "I'm on holiday" glass - it's the best bit when you "clock off" Grin

Not2 I must say I'm pleased I managed to knock it on the head before it really spiralled, as it does feel more like a "lifestyle change" having just transitioned (albeit with a lot of fannying) rather than yo-yoed, which I hope means I'll be able to stick to it more easily. I suspect it'll never be entirely second nature, and it'll probably take up an annoying amount of space in my mind forever, but c'est la vie. You sound like you've got it down too, chipping away at the last stone as you are you're really unlikely to struggle to keep it off.

MissingPanda · 12/04/2018 10:49

Quim at 29 you're still young Grin Putting my Freud hat on I suspect it's the fact that your subconcious being aware that your next birthday comes with a 0, which moves you into the next decade, is having an effect on your body Wink

Fizz keeping fingers crossed that your job is safe.

Hoola just try to make sensible choices for your meal out but don't worry too much about it. When inputting into mfp I try to keep under my daily allowance but if I go over I cut back on other days to try to stay under my weekly allowance.

Completed wk1 r3 today. Feel as if I'm about to come down with a cold though which is never a good thing diet wise so hopefully I'll fight it off.

HairsprayBabe · 12/04/2018 12:00

Did OK yesterday, then ate half an Easter egg at about 7pm

Today might be my first actual golden day in a month

skipped breakfast for a cappuccino
lunch is a home made chickpea salad
dinner is unknown as yet but I will NOT be snacking this evening!

Hoolahoophop · 12/04/2018 12:03

Just picked up my Tesco order. I'm baking a birthday cake for a party sat. Ive over ordered the fondant icing. I have 23,400 calories of icing in my kitchen. Thought you would all Shock at that. GrinBlush

Not2bObvious · 12/04/2018 12:12

At around 3,500 cals in a pound of fat you could gain the 7lb eating that hoola! Wow that’s mad isn’t it? I know icing isn’t exactly healthy food but dang, is that for 1 cake?
My appetite is much reduced with the back pain but still been coming in around 1700 a day - if I can keep it at that for the next 3 days I’ll be so delighted.
fizz hoping your role is safe. Would you have many other options if there was redundancy? I’m used to be a divil for a glass of wine the night before hols until I had a little more than I should have. I had a 7 hour flight to NYC the next day, talk about seedy, turned me right off! Very likely just a normal salt bloat this morning, lots of water and be on point today. Hoping you get your 12.6 average tomorrow

FizzingWhizzbee · 12/04/2018 12:24

Well, my job is safe for another week at least! We got the structural announcement, but it turns out that communication of what roles people have in that structure isn’t until next week. However, based on what was announced, I’m pretty confident there will be something decent for me, and I’ll find out when I get back. The good news is that the way things are changing means there should be lots more opportunity for career advancement in the future, something that has been sorely lacking in the past few years. If I’m wrong and I do end up being made redundant, I’m not too worried. We would be fine on one salary for a while, plus I’ve been keeping an eye on the job market and there seems to be quite a lot of jobs going. Fingers crossed that won’t be necessary.

I probably will have a glass of something tonight (Quim’s ordersSmile), but don’t worry, Not - I can’t have too much, I’m doing all the driving tomorrow, and we’ll be leaving before 9am!

I'm sure the cake will be gorgeous, Hoola - just don't tell me DH about the icing, he would eat the lot given half a chance! He is an icing addict!

Not2bObvious · 12/04/2018 12:56

Well in that case fizz enjoy a glass. Glad it looks positive for you on the job front, what a relief! Hope you have a great holiday

QuimReaper · 12/04/2018 13:37

WOAH Hoola, 2 days' calories in one pile of icing! Amazing Grin

QuimReaper · 12/04/2018 13:37

I've just remembered that last night I had a dream about fish fingers.

A just needed to tell someone.

SesameSparkle · 12/04/2018 14:13

not glad you got to physio so quick, hopefully those exercises will help sort you out.

Iheart well done on the WI – awesome numbers

panda I went for risotto last night, I asked for no bread and I don’t think it was too bad choice. I didn’t order my own dessert either… Halo

quim Grin at the fish fingers. I dreamt I was in a crowded train station but there weren’t any working signs and I had no idea how to find my train

fizz glad your company meeting went okay and you can go off and enjoy your holiday and the wine

hoola enjoy your day out

hairspray fingers crossed today is golden Grin

Just been out for a 5k run, hoping that today is a good day.

Not2bObvious · 12/04/2018 14:19

That’s one of the joys of Ireland sesame, if you’re ok to pay you can get sorted pretty promptly. Nothing like throwing €€ at a problem, I’m v thankful I don’t have to wait to be seen publicly. I’m super jealous of your 5k, at least I can potter about.
Ooh I love a fish finger sambo, I’ve got to get me some and some tartare sauce (slobber face)

Hoolahoophop · 12/04/2018 14:38

That's great news fizz every cloud and all that. I only needed 3kg icing, I have 6! Do your DH is welcome to it. Grin or I'll return it to the store for a refund.

Running already sesame I did skip down the high street with dd, I'm sure that's extra steps. I had a home made risotto last night that worked out at 444 calories per portion so unless yours was laden with cream and cheese that was probably a great choice.

SesameSparkle · 12/04/2018 21:59

not hope you are back running again soon

hoola I reckon skipping should count as double steps Wink

That's me closing on 1700 calories today, with 400 off for the run. Lots of estimated calories in there too, so hopefully it won't be as high in reality. Night all.

FizzingWhizzbee · 13/04/2018 06:55

Oooooh! 12st 6.0, on the nose! That is a new low and a lovely pre-holiday surprise! I'm very surprised because I did indeed have pre-holiday wine (cough) and fish and chips.

That brings me average for the (slightly shortened) week to 12st 6.5, almost a 2lb loss on last week and a while 1lb lower than my previous best average. I know it isn't much, but I am thrilledSmile.

Not2bObvious · 13/04/2018 07:38

That’s brilliant fizz! Well done you

  • 2lb down on last week is a solid loss, don’t diminish your hard work by comparing to other times. Here & now you’re 2lb lighter than last week. You have a fab holiday, relax & enjoy.
My average is nudging down, now only 1.3 to get back to before holidays with 2 days to go. As I feared the lure of the vino/g&t got me but not to any great extent. Ended up on maintenance cals rather than weight loss cals. What’s done is done. Nice evening, enjoyed it. Anyone doing anything nice for the weekend?
Hoolahoophop · 13/04/2018 08:08

Great start to the holiday fizz well done and enjoy.

Slow and steady not

I was doing well yesterday, until DH popped over the road to the beer festival and brought home samples, and I scoffed tested some of the offcuts from the cake I'm doing.

Toddler party for us tomorrow and dinner for gp birthday Sunday so a lovely weekend if a bit full of food. I was 9st 1.2 this morning. Back to pre hospital average, 1lb down on last week and only 1.2 away from the 8s I do want to see an 8.

Happy Friday everyone enjoy your healthy starts to the weekend.

lastqueenofscotland · 13/04/2018 08:37

I’m trying to imagine what that much icing would even look like Confused
