Thanks for all the well wishes. Back from doctor, unlikely to be discs, muscular with possible spasms. Recommended physio, suggested MRI cause you know throwing good money at a relatively minor problem is sure to makes ones purse lighter! So less strain on the back...anyway it was an irritating experience that cost €€€, hopefully what they prescribed will give me relief until it fixes itself. I did get a couple of tranq’s so I’ll sleep well tonight😉

FizzingWhizzbee · 10/04/2018 21:34

Physio can work wonders, Not - at one point my Mum's back was so bad she struggled to get up off the sofa and it woke her frequently at night. She has no problems at all now, all due to Physio (short intensive course) followed by Pilates.

Not2bObvious · 10/04/2018 21:52

Happy to try the physio fizz, wasn’t keen on mri “just in case” No nhs in Ireland, everything is money. I have health insurance but it could still run up some bill. Anyway at least now I know, before this I wasn’t sure what to do

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 10/04/2018 22:40

I haven't wrote on here before but I've got my 7lbs, first week of slimming world and I lost 12, unfortunately with how much I have to lose thats everyone else's equivant of 4-5.

Not2bObvious · 11/04/2018 07:45

You’re very welcome FTL (sorry easy abbreviation I could think of!)
That’s a super loss and pls don’t compare your losses/diminish your effort by comparing to anyone. Like the looking back at previous weight etc, it serves no purpose but to bring you down. Losing weight is tough, we don’t need to make it any tougher with negative self talk. I hope you have a very successful week 2. Have you found it hard?
I’m down another 1.2lb so average edging it’s way down. I’ve been given very stern talking to by himself about not overdoing stuff, humf. No jogging (was unlikely), no 10,000 steps (was going to try) and no housework (wasn’t keen but can’t look at overflowing wash baskets without getting antsy) We’ll see, never been much of a listen to the husband person😉
Trying my new array of pain stuff, the tranq gave a less than enjoyable night sleep so we’ll see how these drugs work. Better humour today, will do some work from home to keep the wheels turning.
Enough of me, what’s happening with y’all? quim I’d say you’re feeling much better by now?
fizz how’s the scales going today?
Speaking of scales, did you replace yours yet maj?

HairsprayBabe · 11/04/2018 08:31

Yes I do sound like I lead a very glam life...

I am working from home, one day a week I go to Nottingham or Worcester, it is an events planning type job - business events for the agricultural sector so I don't need to be in the office. At the moment I have one event a week and one office day, I do 37hrs but it is up to me how I structure them. Event days tend to be 7-7 so I start late on Monday AM and finish Early on a Friday.

Has been quiet this week as a lot of people have had time off over Easter.

New man sounds like a soap character on paper (tattoos, motorbike, child from previous relationship and some huge debt issues tbf they are sorted now), but he is really great and has grown up so much since we last saw each other. Plus he can cook and he likes to clean!

Struggling to be anything close to good as I still have no scales I feel like I am spiralling rapidly! Not due to go back to my flat in Nottingham until the 14th - by which time I will be the size of a small van if I don't screw my head on right! Had crumpets for breakfast so obviously that was a great start to the day Hmm

TheHoundsofLove · 11/04/2018 08:55

Hair crumpets aren't too bad, unless you had them dripping in butter which is practically the law
I am finding it hard to kick the pastry habit - I live in Germany so they are everywhere and sooo good!!! I think maybe the solution is to impose a strict Mon-Friday ban and only allow them at weekends if I also do some form of intensive exercise.

FizzingWhizzbee · 11/04/2018 09:01

Is there any other way to eat crumpets apart from smothered in butter? I don't think I could bring myself to even try - which is why I can't have them in the houseBlush.

The scales were kind today - 12st 6.3, which is very, very close to my lowest weight (well, lowest in this round of weight loss!). So I'm very happy! My average is looking good at 12st 6.6, so I'm feeling very confident about a 12st 6 average on Friday - the wheels would have to come off in quite spectacular fashion for me not to hit it and that is what next week's holiday is forSmile

HairsprayBabe · 11/04/2018 09:09

There may have been some butter.... probably a tbsp. over two crumpets so about 40 - 50cals

lastqueenofscotland · 11/04/2018 09:22

Meh hairspray life gets in the way at times. Sounds like you’re having fun which is the main thing Grin

Hoolahoophop · 11/04/2018 09:38

Toasted crumpets dripping in butter and oozing melty Pié d'Angloys is what got me into this mess. Confused Don't try it, it's taken me three years to kick the habit. But oh my bloody lovely. Was my reward for keeping dc1 alive the first year despite never sleeping.

Hair your life is all excitement, new man cooks and cleans! Fantastic. Grin

Not2bObvious · 11/04/2018 09:48

Ahh here, so only 250 max 300 calories for your breakfast? That’s hardly a jumbo breakfast roll category hair😉 You’re doing fine, you can’t diet forever & ever. Would you not just go to Tesco & buy a scales for a tenner, save the agonising. Oh and while you’re there pick up fizz some smaller plates😬
Speaking of fizz, look at you skinny minny!!! Well done on the extra drop, you’re so going to be 12.6 average by Friday

MajestyRoyal · 11/04/2018 11:35

Not I got new scales the night they died on me Smile
I weighed this morning and I am 8 pounds down since the 1st April.

Crumpets toasted for 5 minutes in the toaster and completely drowned in butter, scrambled eggs and streaky bacon with a hot cup of coffee on the side. Now THAT is a breakfast! I am starving Sad

Fizz I've just realised we are similar weights. I am 12.2 and I am so excited to get the the 11's!! Good luck Smile

Not2bObvious · 11/04/2018 11:40

That’s an amazing loss maj! Well done, hope you see 12’something very soon.
I’ve just had a poached egg with chopped tomato on a slice of whole meal toast, around 170 cals & delicious! Having beans on a sliced of whole meal toast for lunch with some grated cheddar on top.
It’s all about bread these days for me, sandwiches for dinner the last 2 nights.

Not2bObvious · 11/04/2018 11:47

OOPS I meant 11’something, apologies

FizzingWhizzbee · 11/04/2018 12:06

You will see 11-something way before me, Maj! I have a week's self sabotage to do next week, then undo in the 2 weeks after. But we'll both get there.

And that does indeed sound like a perfect breakfast!

It's funny, I was thinking earlier that last time I lost a significant about of weight, I had lost a lot more 2 months in than I had now. But I was doing WW and I was utterly miserable, and hungry all the time. I'm much more confident now, even though it will take me longer. I was also doing a lot of exercise then which I am not now (other than walking) so I'm quite excited to see how I can accelerate once my achilles is fixed.

Not2bObvious · 11/04/2018 13:14

I think it sounds like you’re losing weight properly and it’ll stay off this time fizz. Time will pass regardless, but this is a much more enjoyable way of doing it. Not too highs deficit from food, increased exercise, totally doable.

QuimReaper · 11/04/2018 13:27

Ha! I really was in a slump yesterday, feeling much brighter today Grin I wasn't very very hungover, just feeling a bit sleepy and crummy, but I think I was just a bit cross because it didn't feel worth it!

Crumpets are my favourite. I'm relatively good at having stuff in the house without scarfing it until I'm "allowed" it but they really are uniquely irresistible. Pointless without lashings of butter though, that is definitely required!

QuimReaper · 11/04/2018 13:33

Come to think of it, I think I ate four on the trot last weekend Blush We had a huge lunch so decided we didn't need a proper dinner, so I decided to have "a crumpet", then there's this blank bit, and suddenly the packet was empty...

QuimReaper · 11/04/2018 13:41

Just seen Teddy - another new face, welcome! 12lbs in a week is an absolutely stonking start, congratulations!

Fizz I agree that it sounds much better this time around. I mean, anyone can drop a megaton of weight in no time if they're willing to suffer, but keeping it off when you establish such a terrifying relationship between weight loss and suffering is going to be a killer. I'm actually pretty glad that old age is beginning to punish me for my indulgences, it makes it almost a relief to rein it in come Monday Grin

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 11/04/2018 16:54

You're right not2b ive already got in my head my 1st 2 stone dont really count as i put th3m on since last time.

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 11/04/2018 16:55

Thanks Quim

SesameSparkle · 11/04/2018 17:20

Hi everyone

not how are you getting on with your back today?

Panda well done on the C25K run – keep at it, it’s totally worth it

hounds when I get back to maintain again, I plan on keeping pastries or cake to weekends only.

hoola ooh, I have curly hair too, what kind of cut are you thinking of going for?

Fizz great news on the new low! Star

hairspray, crumpets and butter if that’s all you have for breakfast is not so many calories

maj awesome loss for April. Star Roll on the 11s!

Welcome Teddy, amazing loss so far

Quim glad you are feeling a bit brighter today

I overdid it on the calories last night and 1.5lb of yesterday’s loss was showing on the scales again this morning. Also I had a trying on session with some of my summer clothes and I’m still not there yet. I have about 3 weeks before my hols to make a bigger dent into my waistline. I’m also going out for dinner later. It’s one of those gastropub, menu changes daily places, and I’m hoping there’s some sort of healthy option on there rather than chips.

Hoolahoophop · 11/04/2018 17:48

Sesame In my head this is the before and after I'm hoping for. In reality most days my before looks like harid, or is just tied up out of my way.
www.styleswardrobe.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/curly-inverted-bob-2.jpg

SesameSparkle · 11/04/2018 18:43

hoola ooh that is lovely. Mine is shoulder length, and layered through to show off the curls. My hair is more in between wavy and curly and I used to either blow dry smooth or wear it up. I find when it’s shorter the curls really come through and it’s much easier to just wash and leave. That style might also be a nice way to show off any visible changes from weight loss around your shoulders/collar bone/jaw.
