Pcos

I've recently been told I have pcos. I know it's slightly harder to loose weight when you have this but I'm really struggling.

About a month ago I cut out all my binge eating and all snacks. I just eat 3 meals a day. I have no self
Control so if I have a snack, I will just keep snacking so the easiest thing for me is to not snack at all.

I've also joined the gym, started running and do hiit workouts at home.

No alcohol since I started.

Why am I not loosing any weight?

An example of what I'm eating...

Beakfaat... pancakes made with eggs, banana and protein powder

Lunch... roasted courgettes, peppers and onions with chicken in a high protein wrap.

Dinner shepards pie made with carrot and swede mash and broccoli and cauliflower.

I've honestly cut my food intake in half. I would easily eat a multi pack of chocolates in one sitting. Loads of junk every day.

Any advice?

I'm here on and off. Trying to low carb but struggling a bit, especially weekends. Off processed/added sugar for about 6 weeks now though.

Hi @JaimesGoldenHand - have you noticed any improvements yet? I'm going to start on Monday.

Hi @Chooklass - I've lost about half a stone. Slowing down a bit now, though tbh I struggled in the cold weather. My body was screaming for carbs!

Well done @JaimesGoldenHand ! I know I will struggle with late afternoons - I always have huge chocolate cravings then. Going to make a big hearty lentil soup today for lunches through the week and maybe a big stew or curry for dinners.

Does anyone else suffer from really bad bloating after eating certain things? I've been told it could be related to the PCOS, but I've noticed after things like kidney beans/rice/pasta I get so much more bloated than I used to.

I do with beans or lentils but I think they are quite gassy foods anyway - not sure if it's pcos related for me. It's very uncomfortable and frustrating!

I have PCOS.

And when I was diagnosed I was clinically obese.

It sucks - I found the weight didn't drop off like it did for other people.

However I just saw it for what it is. Some people have other medical conditions which means that have to alter their lifestyle and adapt.

I had to do the same.

As it was harder for me to lose weight (and easier to gain) that just meant I couldn't have certain foods if I really wanted to see a difference.

I cut out all junk food - no takeaways - no chips - no pizza.

I focused on changing my eating and lifestyle habits. No diets. No fads.

Just eating healthily. (Took me a long time to realise what that involved!)

It worked and I have maintained the weight loss over the years. 13 stone + to 8 stone 6.

Ok so I can't stuff my face as often as other people or just have the occasional McDonalds but there are worse things to have and I rather maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle!

joeybarnett I've come more or less to the same conclusion. Especially about sugar - I just can't have it at all.
