I can’t. I’ll kill myself if I continue the way I am going.

Today is the first day of my weight loss journey and I promise myself that even if I fall off the wagon, I won’t let it get as bad as this before taking action.

I weigh 18st 5lb. Hideous.

The reasons I want to lose weight.

  • I want to wear nice clothes without being uncomfortable
  • I want to enjoy having my photo taken
  • I don’t want to be embarrassed when meeting new people
  • I don’t want to set a bad example for my children
  • I don’t want to keep getting infections in my skin folds
  • I want to ease my aches and pains in my joints
  • I like getting compliments

Not expecting any replies as I’ve not asked anything but I shall be keeping a weight diary here.

Sorry flora Flowers I wish you good health in all areas in the future. That’s ultimately all we wish for isn’t it? Our health.

Absolutely no sympathy required , I now feel as fit as a fiddle and as I said it has really kick started a healthier lifestyle .

Snap8TheCat · 13/11/2017 19:36

Snap just read your comment about people being unkind. That's so rubbish. What shallow individuals. Just remember that the people who are worth your energy and love are those who make you feel good. Life is too short to worry about the negative types Smile

Snap8TheCat · 14/11/2017 12:55

Oh I know and for the most part I can block it out. I have a lovely family and friends and they are all supportive, usually battling their own issues too.

How is everyone doing so far this week? Looking forward to weighing in on Friday!

I hit rock bottom this time last year and was the heaviest I'd ever been. I've lost 4 stone since then and I'm so motivated to get the next three stone off.

It's hard and there have been a lot of bumps in the road but it doesn't matter how long it takes, as long as you don't stop.

Snap8TheCat · 14/11/2017 14:57

That’s brilliant amusedbush do you have any tips for staying on track even when you have a wobble?

OP posts:
amusedbush · 14/11/2017 15:02

Just remember how much you want it. Remember how bad you felt at your heaviest. Remind yourself that it's okay to have a nice treat but a binge will make you feel sick and ill and it's not what you want.

I have binge eating disorder and struggle every day. Sometimes the bingeing voices overpower me but the smaller I get, the easier I find it to overpower them. I feel like I've finally got something worth fighting for.

Sarahh2014 · 14/11/2017 15:02

I weighed my heaviest afyer birth of my son ibate far to much I'm pregnancy and gained 3 stone I downloaded my fitness pal and never looked back I lost all the weight and a bit within a year

amusedbush · 14/11/2017 15:04

Also, I've redefined what I think of as a "treat".

A delicious slice of my colleague's homemade fruit loaf with butter = a treat.

A cheap Greggs doughnut/a Jaffa Cake sitting in the office kitchen/anything that I could go out and buy on any given day = not a treat.

It really helps me. I now have a proper think before I eat something indulgent.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 14/11/2017 18:19

Love your username amusedbush.
Also very impressed by your weight loss! I have tried MFP but I get annoyed having to work out how much everything is worth calorie wise.
I normally make my own food so can't just scan bar codes. But I do like the fact it tracks your weight. Think I just need to eat smaller portions!

I have been ill all week Snap so not much exercise but lots of fruit / veg & no wine - hoping that must have had had a good effect! Smile

FabulouslyGlamorousFerret · 14/11/2017 19:10

I was 21st12ib in Feb, I’m now 17st 13ib. No dieting either —no, this isn’t the start of a juice plus spiel— 🤣

I gave up sugar (sweets, cake, chocolate etc), sweeteners and snacking, cold turkey like giving up fags! 3 meals a day of whatever I like, calories logged loosely on MFP (usually 250 breakfast 500 lunch and 1000 for dinner)

I occasionally get a pang but like a cigarette craving it literally goes after a few seconds. I weigh myself every few weeks but don’t really add up how much I’ve lost as it goes down then it’s all good 👍🏻

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 15/11/2017 08:57

Well done FabGlam!
I'm sooo impressed by these huge weight losses! I've only ever significantly lost weight (3st) after DC1. It all dropped off back then, despite my eating loads of cake!
I'm thinking the difference was that I wasn't drinking (due to BFing) and walking around pushing a buggy for hours on end. I presumed the same would happen with DC2. It didn't. So now both are at school I can't really blame it on the baby weight Confused

Snap8TheCat · 15/11/2017 15:46

Struggling today as I didn’t sleep well and so now I have lethargy and a headache.

Usually I’d head for a sugar fix...

OP posts:
Floralnomad · 15/11/2017 16:18

Have you tried soda water and lime , it’s my go to now instead of a Pepsi max .

Snap8TheCat · 15/11/2017 16:26

I’ve been drinking tea and sugar free squash but I really want a bicultural or chocolate or cake or flapjack or sweets or pastry.... Grin

OP posts:
Snap8TheCat · 15/11/2017 16:26

Biscuit that should have said!

OP posts:
Freshprincess · 15/11/2017 16:35

Oh tiredness always makes me want to fall into the biscuit box! Stay strong, only two more days till Friday weigh in!

Highlights hot chocolate Is my go-to comfort treat, only 40 cals per cup.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 15/11/2017 17:08

Ate some chocolate coins today I found in the cupboard Blush

Snap8TheCat · 15/11/2017 22:03

I made it! It was tough but no deviating and I’m heading off to bed for another early night to make sure I don’t nibble.

I’ve been 100% for 6 days now, one left and I can look forward to my weigh in and fingers crossed I’ve lost something. Confused

OP posts:
Whirliegigspider · 15/11/2017 23:32

I think getting enough sleep is a big thing. Stops the sugar craving as much. Plus bed early equals less time to eat in eve. I'm usually asleep by 9.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 16/11/2017 09:28

Well done Snap! 🙌🏽

Snap8TheCat · 16/11/2017 09:44

Thanks smiled 😆

I had a brilliant nights sleep last night and feel really good tonight. A friend at school was super cheery and said ‘hi beautiful’ and said I looked happy. It made me feel good Smile
